Upon leaving the parts store we made our way over to Doherty Tire.. pulled up .. made contact with a couple employees and made our way into the office. We stood in that office for 10 mins and not one person said 1 word to us. It is only first come first serve. Two stars for work done correctly. Just to be clear this experience was a while back. My vehicle would not start and I called to make sure it would be ok to have AAA tow it to his shop for service, which he approved. I waited all day and when I didn't hear back I called to check if they found out what the issue was. They let me know the work had been done hours ago and it was ready to pick up. I asked what it was and they said that one of the spark plugs and coil packs had failed and they went ahead and replaced all of them since it was only a matter of time before the others failed. I asked what the damage was and it was more than I expected. When I came to pick it up I asked if this was the normal price for the work as generally speaking replacing spark plugs and coil packs is not that difficult. He explained that this vehicle was notorious for stripped threads and they didn't even like to do them. It came across as if I was lucky they even did the work. I asked him what the typical range was and he said it varied and gave me a low and high range and explained what it took to fix it if the threads got damaged. The final price was on the higher end of that scale. I asked who did the work so I could thank them and when I talked to the tech I asked how the job went and asked if he ran into any problems. He said that it went smoothly and about as good as he could hope for. I know I could have contacted BAR and made a complaint but I just filed it under live and learn and crossed this shop off my list. My concerns and why I will not go back for service. 1. Never given a quote - not legal in state of California 2. Not contacted when work was finished 3. Was told price was variable depending on difficulty of work performed. Found out that job went smoothly but I was still charged as if they ran into additional problems. 4. Can't make appointments

Matt scheduled me in super fast for the next day that worked for me and said it would only take about 30 minutes. I came in today for the appointment and they instantly took my car in, told me it was two sensors that went out. Fixed both within literally minutes. Less than 20 minutes. If you don't know, an inside balance places the weights used to balance the tires only on the inside of the rims. It's more labor intensive to do but looks better and most shops will only do it if you ask. I was getting both new tires and rims but keeping the old tires and rims together to sell or have as spares. They marked where the old tires were on my truck in case there were any issues I would be able to track it down easier. Small details that really let me know these guys are super pro!
