This Red Bluff location was closed for a while for construction where someone got the bright idea to combine an IHOP and Applebee's together. So this place opens at like 6am now for breakfast, I guess on the IHOP side. I'm not a fan of IHOP, so I'm sticking to Applebee's. The "Really Big Meal Deal" for $9.99 isn't really promoted on the menu, so you have to ask for it. I ordered the Bacon Cheeseburger, extra onions and tomato (no charge) along with friend and a strawberry lemonade. It was after 3 pm, so I ordered some onion rings on the happy hour 1/2 off. Hey a big platter of onion rings for less than $5.00, that's a deal! The food came out all nice and hot, by the friendly server. Service was friendly and competent, so that's good. The onion rings are the cornmeal coated kind, more crunchy than the puffy battered type. I like them both! The burger has plenty of bacon, tomato and lettuce. The food is consistently fresh, delicious, and packed with flavor. I've honestly never had a bad meal here. Whether it's the pizza, wings, or one of their famous E-6s, everything is made with care, and it shows. Our family and group of friends--usually 20+ people--eat here at least twice a month, sometimes more. With a group that size, you'd expect to run into issues now and then, but we never do. The food is always excellent, orders are accurate, and everyone leaves happy. That's pretty impressive! One thing people should know before they visit is that this isn't a full-service restaurant. You order at the counter, they bring your food to your table, and you bus your own table when you're finished. Personally, I LOVE that concept!
