Before heading back to Denver to catch a flight, my daughter and I stopped here to grab some morning drinks. I ordered a spicy ice chai tea latte and my daughter ordered a hot chocolate. The spicy chai tea latte was really good but it tasted watered down. My daughter's hot chocolate was good. The barista was super nice and answered my questions. We stopped here on the ride back to Denver and the ladies inside were so nice and my drink was awesome! I got an iced white chocolate mocha with caramel, 3 espresso shots, and almond milk. So good! The espresso here is STRONG! You always k ow when you walk in and you can't tell if the barista is high or not and then you drink a coffee and find out what he's really on. Awe, some. I didn't feel like coffee and asked about tea. He pointed to the tea bags and then after I asked again he brought out the secret jar of matcha and let me smell it. Oh yes. We were on vacation in Colorado and seeking a local place to enjoy our morning coffee. When we arrived at Sacred Grounds, we entered right as they opened at 7 am. On both our visits, they were immediately busy. There are two things that are important to me in a coffee shop. The first is the quality of the regular coffee, particularly the dark roast. I am not easily pleased, as I am a bit of a coffee snob. Both brews we tried were excellent. We had both the Firestarter and the Sumatra. Both were smooth, rich and sufficiently strong. The second thing that matters to me is the customer service. When I mentioned a minor issue to the manager, he was kind and responsive and went out of his way to make sure we were satisfied. I am rarely impressed with a coffee shop and review them rarely. But if you are in the Salida area, this is a great place to start your day. read more

Invited to visit Mountain Phoenix, we stopped in on the way back East. Wow! What an amazing and pleasant difference from the same place, with a different name, we visited last September. So bright and warm, and the lighting that highlights the various artist on every wall makes the atmosphere that much more intimate and special. Barista Cassie really knows her magic ingredients. Coffee is next to amazing. We pretty much tasted every single ingredient. While we ate our breakfast burrito, It was nice to see everyone that walked in had a name and maybe even a routine; each grabbed their breakfast item, and ordered their usual. Best latte I've had in a long time! I stopped by here after going to another local coffee shop, which was in the creative district, and had a very underwhelming almond milk latte. I was wanting a good drink before getting back on the road for a 4 hour long drive so did some googling and found this place. It was on my way out of town so I decided to stop by. The location is different, kind of a stand alone building right off a major road not close to any shops or restaurants or anything. Not Not walkable to anything if you're wanting to grab a drink and stroll through town, but I didn't mind. The barista was very friendly and you could tell she knew what she was doing. Definitely not a average coffee type place. I ordered a oatly milk latte and my girlfriend got a mazzy chai. Both were delicious! Next time I am in town I will definitely be back. Drove through here on a road trip from Texas and was the most brief pleasant experience! The sign on the door that said "don't be rude, say hi" and it immediately made me smile! I walked in and the gentleman greeted me. I went to order and asked about their Mexican Aztec drink because it said cayenne pepper and it intrigued me. He was sure to tell me it's one of their more popular drinks, so duh I ordered it! He made it quick and served it up and gave me some helpful tips to not die sipping the cayenne pepper at the end of my drink. Thank you for creating such a cheerful energy throughout your shop! A nice little local coffee shop right on US 50. Some comfortable seating and the usual coffee house choices. They had tasty breakfast burritos in a crock pot keeping warm. They were made by a nearby source and came in meat and vegetarian choices. I can't comment on the fancy coffee drink choices because I am a black coffee drinker, but the place was buzzing with locals of all ages sitting in and taking out a variety of menu choices while I was there.
