Finally got an order in today. 130$ for all including delivery Ordered 2 pulled pork sandwiches Pork is very salty Brisket sandwich Has a funny plastic taste, lots of fat Only received one bun as the meat is on the side I'm assuming so it doesn't get soggy. Ambiance was great - Service was phenomenal and the cook came out to visit us. Plus he hooked us up with extra food and had us try the shrimp. Shrimp was amazing and I wish I ordered that. - No sausages available on their menu - Bomb brisket just fatty which comes with the territory. Flavorful tender delicious perfectly cooked and needed no sauce. - Pricing was good - Mac n cheese tasted fine. For me I was just sad to see that it was not creamy and did not come with the browned cheese on top (personal preference) - Refrigerated sides all pre-portioned in containers. - Queso dip had good flavor but a weird consistency. Chips were good! - Not a fan of the cold out of the fridge BBQ sauces. Only 2 sauce options tasted of a mixture between Tabasco and sugar, spicy was not spicy. Both seem mild one just has less sugar. Just not my style of sauce as I'm trained to love sweet & spicy baby rays lol - Deviled egg potato salad was sweet and a little thin. Was white so I feel like no cooked yolks were in there. From the delicious food to the tree-shaded wooden patio, this spot hits all the marks. You walk up and see a guy in the smoke pit getting the meats ready. Take a seat and order at the table. The brisket is delicious but only is available weekends at 3, it says in the menu. Service is super friendly. Love the vibes all around. read more

The food was amazing and the portions were generous! Our server was wonderful too. When we went, The restaurant was in the middle of a lot of construction when we went, so I can't say the ambience was great. But we will definitely go back and I'm sure the ambience will be wonderful. read more

The fam came here for the first time and I'd say it's pretty tasty overall. Staff were friendly and attentive. They have a sign on the door which says your order will take 30-45 min which was completely accurate. I think if they offered some sort of free appetizer would appease people while they wait. Maybe something like garlic bread! (They don't have this item FYI). They don't have much in the way of indoor seating, but they have a really nice patio under the trees which was perfect for summer! I would classify this joint as a mom and pop BBQ restaurant. Reasonably priced and I would say I was pleasantly surprised by the tenderness and flavor of the tri-tip and the pulled pork. Baked beans were tasty. BBQ sauce was on the sweeter side. They also have a spicy BBQ sauce which had a hint of spice. Not hot. I'd go again. I just would call and place an order about an hour before I was ready to eat. I think if you do that's it's a pretty solid option for downtown Twain Harte. read more

This is just a small little BBQ spot tucked into the row of other restaurants in Twain Harte, so it's easy to miss this place. I've only been twice so far, but the service has been the same sort of welcoming I hope for from our little town. The food has been consistent both times and I've especially enjoyed the brisket. For the world we live in now, I think the prices are some of the most fair you can get for the food they provide. 3 meats with 2 sides is a modest $19, which I think is more than fair for what you get with that. We called in and asked for the best that he had we got chicken, tri tip, country style ribs, and shrimp because the brisket wouldn't be ready for a few hrs. The chicken was the star of the show and that's not saying much was good a lil salty and I like salt, the tri tip was well done and was tough I'd say it was not tri tip but who knows, the ribs weren't bad but not soft and for the finale the shrimp was bad as soon as the bag was opened you could smell it so we didn't taste that. The sides he offered which were baked beans very basic not much flavor , a version of Mexican street corn which was not even close , Cole slaw was kfc good if you like that, and my very least favorite was the Mac and cheese just wasn't good needed to be hot first and some season would help. Fantastic food. We ordered the carnivore 6 meats and 4 sides. Each item had its own distinctive flavor. Nothing tastes the same and it was awesome. The hospitality was excellent. It was a cold, snowy night, and they helped me feel right at home, as a visitor to Twaine Harte. I especially enjoyed the chicken and steak. Also the beans were excellent. One consideration if the owners read this, I would have enjoyed some bread to go with the juicy bbq plate. Did take out for tri-tip and Louisiana ribs with 2 sides x 2. This BBQ was awesome and the homemade sides were great, Coleslaw, smoked devils egg potato salad, smoked bake beans and Mac salad. Well worth the visit and will be back with friendly staff. They post specials on Facebook too so pay attention and get extra value. Prices were very reasonable for the meal deals. My boyfriend and I came here for dinner after a day of skiing at dodge ridge. We ordered the Carnivore which came with four meats. We chose St. Louis ribs, prawns, chicken, and country-style ribs (which actually aren't ribs at all but turned out to be our favorite!). We dined-in and it did feel like a place just starting to get their footing. Service seemed a bit disorganized and I wish there was less use of single use cutlery and plates, but this didn't detract from the friendly and genuine service, and the amazing food. Coming from a big city, it was refreshing to eat at a place where the cook brought you the food, the waitstaff asked what your favorite off the plate was, and asked about your preferred football team--not to mention that every single meat on the plate was flavorful and succulent. Despite some room for improvement (as mentioned above) I can't help but give this place five stars! We will be back anytime we have the privilege of being back in town. read more

I haven't been to their restaurant location (yet) but I ate at the booth both days of the local Home and Garden Show and boy oh boy... I could eat here everyday and be happy. Saturday I got a pulled pork sandwich. The meat was tender and flavorful. They didn't add their typical cole slaw topper (darn those permitting issues) but even just adding some bbq sauce (I LOVE a really sloppy pulled pork sandwich) was plenty for me. Now for the true star... Sunday I had the tri-tip sandwich. Oh. My. This one was truly so, so good. The meat was tender, juicy, full of flavor. I needed nothing with this one. The meat spoke for itself. The service was very quick and friendly as well. I am happy I couldn't get the whole shebang while I was there as it gives me all the more reason to head to their place and have some more!! Even though this is a fairly new establishment the greetings were refreshing, the service was perfect, but the Q was amazing!! Melt in your mouth brisket (on fri. and sat only) I loved the baked beans. As of this post they don't serve alcohol...but call them when you're ready to go....who needs booze when the food is this great. Honestly just a very bad experience. Very slow and poor service and the food was very MID. They were very slow to bring out just water. Additionally, they messed up our order and instead of offering to fix it she just mentioned that it was basically the same, despite it being their mistake. They also offered other tables complimentary chips for the long wait but not our table. They also gave another table extra food because they ran out of something but they did not do that for us when they ran out of the sides we ordered. Instead they just gave us something without even asking what we wanted from the rest of the sides. If I knew it would be this bad I would not leave a tip, and I always leave a good tip. I truly believe these other five star reviews are fake and I would never dine here again. Bad experience, bad food, and that's just the truth. I will never eat here again and I suggest you take your hard earned money somewhere else. read more

I've been wanting to try this place out for a while. Today was the day. Sat outside on a beautiful day and ordered "The Carnivore" which was 4 meats and 2 sides for $25.00 ! What a deal! Had chips and homemade salsa while waiting which was additional $2.00. No beer served(yet) so we had iced tea. All the meat was very good but, the chicken was excellent. Cole slaw was very good but, we weren't crazy about the Mac and Cheese. This is a basic place still in its infancy. Deserves support from the community while it finds its way. Very nice people too. The owner says the most popular dish is the shrimp which is marinated overnight and then grilled. I'll be trying that next time. read more

We were wishing for more...Loads of challenges before winter finishes this little business off! Parking: very limited parking w/peewee golfers taking half the parking lot (that'll get fixed in winter, but not before they go under), & no ADA parking!!! Seating: insufficient no. of plastic chairs if they had more than 18 or 20 customers & very limited indoor seating w/only (2) tables. The back indoor section has a low ceiling so they may not be able to utilize that under served space for winter. Service: their service is extremely slow & lacks any enthusiasm to tell us about their new little venture. It took them a full 45-minutes to see our food after ordering w/only (3) tables & (1) of which was just done!!!). We had to ask for their bottled mini-cup of BBQ sauce as we ere leaving w/our To-go boxes yet, they boast offering two sauces. Quality of food: absolutely, nothing memorable in BBQ abilities/flavors. The Tri-tip quality was very poor. They need a better meat source (i.e. cannot cut Tri--tip w/plasticware & slippery, but nice, To-to boxes w/a 1/3 grisle with a chunk of pure fat. Menu Food Availability : ran out of the brisket, which is the Fri. & Saturday, weekend special before 6 pm on a Saturday! Pricing: the prices are reasonable prices, but offset by very small portions. Setting: very nice patio setting, but won't be sustainable in winter!! Other: Cute name & logo, but business lacks substance to be successful. They lack a beer/wine license & only offer soda, water & non-alcoholic beer. There is no winter BBQ area coverage to continue BBQing & no apparent indoor kitchen. Summary: if all the above challenges could be rectified before the weather changes, it might work; however, this appears to be more of a backyard hobby gone commercial lacking key pieces including a lack of marketing assuming they had a product to market. We had a wonderful dinner at Mountain Q. My choices were tri top, shrimp, pasta salad, and baked beans. Everything was delicious and perfectly prepared. It is a quaint place with a great fire place and incredibly charming brothers who prepare and serve the food. A wonderful addition to Twain Harte! Will be going back often! read more
