Quaint diner and the staff is lovely. We were seated immediately for table of 10. Kids ate french dip with amazing fries, bacon cheeseburger, vegetable beef soup, real chicken strips with sweet potatoes and cole slaw, corn beef hash for hubby and soft serve ice cream in a cone. Helen was our waitress and served up cold water quickly and with extra pitchers. The food was so good that my kids ordered chicken strips and another French dip to go for the car ride later. It was super sweet to hear Helen's stories about her grandson and community. An additional side note is their little gift shop and artists corners around the restaurant. My kids each bought a hat, a little quail for youngest daughter, and an extra mask for myself. It felt good to buy some souvenirs that also supported the locals. Bonus, they had large clean bathrooms! If we come back this way since there isn't much on I10 we will stop again. read more

I usually have great luck with yelp finds while on the road. This was unfortunately a huge let down based off of the reviews. I'd venture to guess the locals left most of these higher reviews. Here's my experience... Too far off the highway. No parking for motorhomes or trailers Unfriendly wait staff Long wait times Had to repeat my order numerous times and was overcharged. My order was completely wrong when I got back to the car with it. No salad dressing with the salad. The wait staff spent more time chatting with locals than helping others. The bathroom was dirty. I don't like giving bad reviews but I feel like the higher reviews were made by locals trying to boost business. Find another stop for food y'all. read more

Nice little restaurant in the middle of nowhere. Service was good and wait staff was friendly. I had the Arizona burger which was REALLY good. With a pretzel like type bun and real smokey bacon it was delicious. My wife had the taco salad. I thought it was a bit small and the shell it came in tasted stale. The waitress said that the shells were cooked that morning but perhaps they were undercooked. Other than that I enjoyed the quality of food. The sweet potato fries or among the best I've ever had. It is not that far off the 10 and located in a really nice area. Away from all the traffic. Our wait was not long and our order was prepared quick. Just drove in from Tucson on my way to Los Angeles and stopped in quartzite. Drove for a few miles and wanted some real food. Seen a sign to this little cafe off the Main Street. So glad I stopped. Food was delicious and I believe my server was Helen. She was the best! Boxed up my leftovers and made sure I had a ice tea for the road. Stopped in the city before heading back into California. I saw the great reviews, and decided to travel a mile from the 10 freeway to check it out. You will not be disappointed. It's settled in what appears to be an RV park/retirement community. It has that greasy spoon, best food you'll ever have in the middle of nowhere, with amazing pie vibe. And yes, they have pie. Waitresses are extremely friendly and talkative. I had the bacon cheeseburger with onion rings. One daughter had sausage and eggs with tots. Other daughter had the Arizona burger. Husband had the open faced steak sandwich, medium rare and it was perfect. If you're traveling through, make the stop. Stop by the rock shops on the way back to the 10, and your detour will be complete. read more

Hey all we eat here four times in a two week time and sure like the simple style of the place there was only one thing I took back Wow! It was the Cornbeef hash it was very watery never seen it like that before what was funny the 75 year old waitress who was so awesome she told me that it's always like that and she was so happy I didn't like it because she does and said she could eat anything off my plate. I was Flirting with her the eggs were great hash browns were a little under probably because were there close to lunch time and I didn't ask for extra brown and the gravy for the chicken fried steak was a little bland so I had to pepper the hell out of it. But the basic thing it was cooked to order except the waffles and remember this is a retirement area. I will be going back sooner than later. read more

Driving through on our way to Palm Springs and found this little gem of a restaurant on yelp. It's a little off the beaten path but well worth the extra 5 mins to get there if your in Quartzite. We would have never found this place with out yelp. I had the burger with homemade chili (yum). The burger was great. The bread toasted and the burger patty was not to thick or thin and cooked just right. My other half had bacon and eggs with a homemade biscuit - they serve breakfast all day :) Everything was good. Our waitress was friendly, fast, and efficient. Food came out pretty fast. I'd definitely go back next time we drive through. read more

This place is absolutely adorable and everyone working there were extremely friendly and gracious. We stopped in on Thanksgiving with no reservation, but were early enough to still get a table. We were on our way to Palm Springs from AZ and wanted to stop for food and gas before we crossed the border. This was the perfect stop. The gift shop is awesome with handcrafted stuff from local artists. We got a cactus back scratcher, a beautiful tissue box cover that looks like an adobe house, and a quirky hat that reads, "Make Quartzite Great Again." Classic! The gift shop accepts cash only because the money goes back to the local artists so make sure you have some! We all loved this little stop not far off the beaten path and only a couple Miles off of the freeway. read more

A very quant cafe. Lots of interesting things to see on the walls. Our server was very attentive. I had the open face turkey sandwich with mashed potatoes and gravy plus cranberries. The potatoes were a little lumpy but good none the less. My wife enjoyed her turkey sandwich and a side salad. The gift shop has interesting things from local artists. Friendly servers, but short staffed and a new cook. A large menu with a wide variety of items to choose from. Free coffee refills with the purchase of coffee. I hate giving less than stellar reviews, but feel it's important to note where improvements can be made. Our breakfasts were simple, bacon eggs, hash browns and toast. An omelette with potatoes and toast. Not complicated, but breakfast is a tricky thing to bring together and have it be perfect. We waited almost an hour after having placed our order before it arrived. Not the hash browns I wanted, but country potatoes smothered in Chili Powder. No thank you. Potatoes should be lightly seasoned or not at all. Though my bacon was perfect, the eggs were cold. I'm absolutely sure the food I saw sitting for several minutes, maybe 10, on the completed counter was ours. Three tables that came after us received their food before we did. We received the wrong bill and when we did get the correct bill we noted that the order had been incorrectly entered by our server. So this may have been a perfect storm of mistakes this morning. No, I did not send my order back because I didn't want to wait again. The short staffing and new cook should have been mentioned when we were seated, that would have made much of the above understandable. My suggestions to the owners/manager are notifying people as you seat them of the issues you may be currently having with staff. Also, STOP putting chili powder on the potatoes. There are people with chili allergies and it would have ruined the whole plate as well as the grill they are cooked on. I sympathize with restaurant workers, both the front of the house and the back, but these kinds of mistakes lose money in an already small net profit for the food industry. read more

Only a few minutes off the I10. Given the poor reviews of fast food in Quartzsite, we were glad to try this local cafe. This place is clean, service is friendly and the food is quick. Big tables and booths for our traveling family. I had the big breakfast, 2 sausage patties, 3 strips of bacon (bonus, I think it was supposed to be 2), scrambled eggs were a bit dry but good. Came with hash browns and a biscuit. The boys both had grilled ham and cheese. Fries are very good, better than tots. The french dip was good. Meat was nice with good bread. read more
