Twice baked potato hash, with cheese and gravy.

This reminds me of home. I grew up with a family run diner down the street from me, and this place gave me all those same feels! Friendly people and good food for a great price. I recommend the twice baked potato hash with cheese, it was delicious! Definitely stopping to charge my car here again on my way to PHX.

We stopped by Mountain Quail Cafe on the 1st Saturday of the New Year for breakfast, and it was a good choice. It was a busy morning, but not crowded at all--we found seating right away. Our waitress was super friendly and very accommodating. Coffee and breakfast came out quickly and everything was delicious--true country cooking that felt like we had eaten at someone's home. The cafe has cute décor that perfectly fits the character of Quartzite. We'll definitely be coming back the next time we're traveling through Arizona.

Quail Mountain Café is one of those places you're glad you found. The food was excellent, the portions were generous, and everything tasted fresh and homemade. You can tell they care about what they serve. The service was just as good as the food. Everyone was friendly, attentive, and made you feel welcome from the moment you walked in. The atmosphere is comfortable and relaxed, the kind of spot where you can sit, enjoy your meal, and not feel rushed. Definitely a place I'll be coming back to and one I'd recommend to anyone passing through or living nearby.

Middle of nowhere, fantastic service, fresh tasty food and very reasonable prices. It's a must to stop if you are traveling between CA and AZ.

The town starts to get busy in the winter with all the snowbirds visiting. We came early for breakfast and were able to find a booth to sit at. I ordered my usual bacon and eggs. The hash browns came out delicious and everything tasted great! They have a new location in the main area of town that I'll have to check out next time I'm visiting my grandma!

Arizona Burger, with Seasoned Fries. ($14.99/Nov, 2025)

Nov, 2025. There are limited dining options along I-10 westbound after you leave the Phoenix metro area, so we were eyeing the town of Quartzsite, AZ on our GPS for our lunch stop. We decided to try the Mountain Quail Cafe based on Yelp reviews. We drove through the town of Quartzsite, and found the restaurant in the middle of some RV parks. While we expected a hometown diner, we were surprised to find that most of the cars in the parking lot had out-of-state plates so many patrons were probably I-10 travelers like us. Food. My husband and I split our entrees. My husband ordered the Arizona Burger ($14.99), which was a 1/3 lb. Angus beef pattie, served on a nicely toasted bun and topped with two strips of Applewood smoked bacon, pepper jack cheese, lettuce, tomato, onions, and mayo, and guacamole on the side. It was served with your choice of side; he chose the seasoned fries. We'd rate the burger 4.5/5 with a slight downrating because the burger was a bit dry and under-seasoned. The fries were served hot and tasty, though the only seasoning seemed to be salt. Nonetheless, 5/5. I ordered the Hot Meatloaf ($14.99), which was meatloaf served open-faced on thick Texas toast with mashed potatoes, and smothered with brown gravy. It was served with broccoli. We were not big fans of this entree (2/5). While the meatloaf was okay (3/5), and the mashed potatoes were excellent (5/5), the brown gravy that smothered the meat, potatoes, and toast was very salty and we weren't crazy about the taste (1/5). It overwhelmed the taste of the meatloaf and potatoes. The broccoli (1/5), which was delivered much later than the rest of the food, was over-boiled or over-steamed and was tasteless. My husband also ordered a coffee ($2.99), which the waiter topped off a few times. Service. Our waiter was attentive in spite of the fact that the restaurant was very busy. Ambiance. The restaurant has a diner feel, with daily specials and restaurant history rotating on some screens in the front. There is a dessert case with options such as red velvet cake, apple pie, and more. They looked appetizing but we didn't have any additional room for dessert after our large lunch. There's also a gift shop in the restaurant. One final point. We were impressed by the restaurant's commitment to helping its community. There was a box near the entrance where patrons could donate Christmas gifts for local children, and 10% of sales from the gift shop are donated.

The menu wit items served all day!

A few turns off I-10, but worth the short detour, food was fresh and tasty, service was friendly and quick and the atmosphere made you feel at home. Skip the fast food stops and make your way here for a meal that is satisfying and delicious. It was breakfast for us, but menu items are available all day along with daily specials.

Loose toilet seat that only needs two bolts and nuts to make it secure. Don't do your customers like this?

I've had a total of 4 Quail Burgers from both locations over two weeks. Each one was different from the other. My last one near closing time I asked no grilling of outside bun but the inside would be ok. It was done just the opposite. Specified NO lettuce; it had the largest chunk of lettuce I've ever seen on a burger. This one was served open faced , the other three were not. Siriachi sauce had a funny taste. It's a shame there's only about 5 sit down restaurants in town; these two quail mountains, snowbird cafe, silly Al's and outback pizza. Tough choice as to which is the best. They're all lacking. Quail mountain should take some pride in their restrooms instead of posting a sign to be careful, that the seat is loose, and looking at the paper, it looks like it's been that way a while?!!

Great food great service in a quaint little cafe. Breakfast was phenomenal! Chicken fried steak and eggs and French toast were perfect!

Ruben sandwich, thousand island sauce on the side.

It's an all American classic dinner type of feel. Good food served by good people. Classic dinner menu such as steak and eggs, pancakes and sandwiches. I ordered a Ruben sandwich with fries and it tasted great. Our waitress was wonderful. Funny, charismatic and attentive. Good visit overall.

The waffle and bacon were already gone... nice side of hashbrowns!

Everything we experienced here was awesome! Helen was our delightful server! What a joy she is! Other servers checked in as they passed by with refills. This place is very clean and comfortable! Waffle Breakfast for an 8 yr old kiddo was a hit! A side of Hashbrowns rounded out his meal with OJ! Although I came here for pie... when I saw Green Chili Burger on the menu.... My heart was set on it! Served alongside delicious sweet potato fries this burger satisfied and delighted me! Hubby loved the chicken fried steak and polished off his entire breakfast while I was still piecing my burger back together! My burger simply had so much cheese and deliciousness from the very generous Roasted Green Chili the bun couldn't reign it all in adequately! What a Happy Foodie Hello to Quartzite!

I made a "sandwich" with my bread, sauce, tritip and coleslaw!!! Yummers!! We kept commenting on how good and hot the fries are! After spending a hot day on the cool river, soon after lunch, we were excited to have this planned for dinner. We arrived 20 minutes before closing on a Saturday night and Michelle graciously seated us and fed us some fabulous food! She's a gem! We are so thankful for her kindness and patience, plus the great food didn't disappoint! We walked from Days Inn and appreciate how close by it is! If driving to eat there I noticed it has great parking! It's a very clean restaurant, yummy tasty hot dinner, great cold beer, and authentic kind staff! Thank you for the surprise one of a kind, "hole in the wall" special Blythe dining experience! Make sure to stop by coming or going, plan to eat here after spending a day on the river, or swing by to support some great people. Your full belly will be thankful you did! We feel great after eating at Rebel BBQ and appreciate the quality of the food. I'm very sensitive to non home-cooked meals and am grateful to not be suffering from usual eating out "bubble guts" ! Hahaha. Thanks again Michelle! Until next time!! Wooohooo for Rebel BBQ!!

Sadly once again I got burnt by bad BBQ and I regret even stepping foot into this place…read more I should have been forewarned about this place as soon as I got inside the restaurant. First off the place was empty and secondly none of the food looked inviting. The only reason I picked this place was based on the good reviews but I should have looked at the worst reviews first. This was just plain garbage and an insult to anyone believing they are selling authentic BBQ. The St Louis style ribs were dry and uneatable. Their garlic bread basically was a stale hot dog bun and the coleslaw was the only thing somewhat decent but bland. The only thing decent in this place was the service but that didn't save it!

Everything was tasty but I would make a few recommendations:…read more One is change the fake butter flavored spread or whatever it is that is used on the texas toast/sandwich bread - it cheapens the quality of your "homemade" food. Second, check the salad mix for rusty/brown/wilted bits - it totally killed the excitement I had to find your ranch dressing is yummy (i.e. not that cheap weird tangy crap many restaurants use) and my salad had ham bits but then it had like a 1/3 bad lettuce that I had to remove. Lasty, even though it's the end of the day and I know you are tired - front of the house customer service is equally as important to me as the quality of the food. It's imperative to be pleasant always and not make the customer feel like they are putting you out or burdening you - smile more at the very least - make me feel welcomed and want to back. Okay, sorry... one more - no one wants tomato slices as their only side veggie option - they were mealy, went straight in the trash, and that's just wasteful for your pocket and mine. There is no shortage of mixed veggies (frozen or canned) and I would be more than satisfied to have that as an option with real butter applied. That's just MHO - maybe the town likes tom slices and I'm way off... idk - I just didn't get it and I'm not a fan of that veggie option. Now the goods - prime rib was very flavorful (not quite med-rare as requested but the flavor made up for it), fish n chicken tenders was a good portion (though I don't think I was supposed to get 2 fish/2 chicken filets - it was still yummy along with the tarter sauce, and the salad with ham bits made me very happy... plus the ranch was quality (tasted like the good Ole hidden valley ranch dip packet w/sour cream which far exceeds that other bottled junk including the bottled version of its own, lol). Ambiance was fine for a diner but could benefit from a sprucing up to more match the feel of the outside of the building. A spring cleaning and a fresh slap of white paint to pick everything up inside. I like the little "gift shop" in the middle giving more privacy between tables. Overall, Steaks n Cakes is a much appreciated option in Blythe where a lot of quality dining options are lacking. Thanks y'all!
