We booked a date ahead of time that turned out to be right after the late January ice storm. The inn called to confirm our visit or to offer a refund with no penalty. "We are comIng" and so they were ready. We were the only guest, however, which was great, because we had the run of the place, but odd because from 9PM until 5;00 AM or thereabouts we were the only people in the inn. But happy hour went on nevertheless, beforehand, and dinner was cathead biscuits, local pecan encrusted pan seared trout, and other local delicacies. We felt so special! Our room was very nice, however, if you happen to be here during or after an ice storm, don't get a room adjacent to the main road. The power company did a great job clearing roads and restoring lines and such, but they get an early start and are big and loud rolling down the main cross street at very early AM times, and we are early risers. Just saying, a very, very lovely stay, but get a back room if an ice storm has just rolled through. Definitely will return!

All of the room amenities worked as expected, including the iron and hair dryer, which I appreciated. My only suggestion for improvement would be the laundry room. It could use a little TLC in terms of general upkeep, and there was a noticeable odor in that area. That said, it didn't take away from an otherwise excellent stay. Overall, I would gladly stay here again and would recommend this hotel to others looking for a clean, comfortable place with friendly staff and a great breakfast.

We spent a couple nights at the historical Old Edwards Inn this week. We had the pleasure of…read moresoaking up every inch of the resort. We were fortunate to snag a Lee Suite in the Lodge. It was centrally located on the property and had some of most beautiful views of the surrounding mountains. We kicked off the trip with spa treatments. Note: appointments are a necessity (as far advance as possible) we lucked out with afternoon massage treatments. They were exceptional. Also you can't forget about the amenities. They are lovely! We dined at 4 restaurants on the property. Lunch at the spa cafe, drinks at Hummingbird over the fire, dinner at the Madison, and cocktails & soup at Four65. Needless to say, we look forward to another trip over the spring or summer.

And no I didn't complain, I just cleaned it myself. The counter areas where the tv and desk are were not wiped down and cleaned at all. Sticky drink rings in 3 different areas. Counters themselves were sticky, crumbs on the counter and on the floor. Floor was not vacuumed at all. Even the hallway to going to my room was dirty and not vacuumed. We arrived to find no one in the office so I called the number of their door. Even though the owner was traveling out of state he was kind and took the time to walk us through his options then granted us access to his Blueridge cottage. We were in awe of the meticulous care, that had gone into restoring the cottages to their pristine condition. The entire experience was very quaint and very comfortable. Clayton Georgia's downtown area is within walking distance and driving distance of all the major restaurants. After a few hard days of hiking, during the evening, we sat on the cottage's patio with a couple of adult beverages, and enjoyed the view until it was bedtime.
