Great clean room with pet friend options. Rolled into town super late and they answered the phone. Booked over the phone and were able to get in with keyless entry. Friendly town dog greeted us in the morning. Mid week everything is pretty much closed in this small town. Great little price of history to enjoy.

Awesome food and attentiveness by Mike. Menu is not printed and created each day. Great views from outside tables.

They opened in 1989 and when I finally stepped in here it was 2017! Lol! Lollypops has long been the place to go during the summer for locals and tourists alike over the years. I think Lollypops was strictly seasonal for a while and they were only open during the summers if my memory serves. Since then they have expanded their menu to include breakfast and lunch options and after checking their hours on their window it seems that they are indeed open all year around these days. I have heard from family that the breakfasts here can be hit and miss. On my recent (and first !) visit here it was in Autumn and I definitely was not in the mood for ice cream since there was a chill in the air. I'm not always a big breakfast eater either but I love pastries which they do offer! I got their Dirty Chai Tea which I actually enjoyed a lot! The mix that they used with a blending of coffee made a very good, warming drink! I have no complaints about that in the slightest! The banana muffin that I also got could have been better. It was moist but it wasn't very flavorful and was a bit dull. It looked like the pastries... the muffins at least are made off site and that they are ordered in by a vendor because the packaging had a different name on it than Lollypops. The decor here is very quaint and cute. You can get some tables by the window and enjoy people watching as you enjoy your meal or snack. Whenever it is warm again and I'm back visiting I'd love to try the ice cream since this is what they are best known for and their variety of flavors is very impressive.

I am not exaggerating to say that it was perhaps the best ice cream I have ever eaten. Service was friendly and informed. Lots of travelers find it on Yelp and lots of locals deem it a Nextdoor favorite. The place is bustling on a random Monday filled with people the servers know by name and with those they dutifully seat and meet. We were the latter. Our server was friendly. The place is not a diner by east coast standards but instead a small storefront containing a restaurant. It has a room in front and one in back. With the kitchen and bathrooms in between. The difference here is the food! It is 5 Star Midwest type fair here. Good portions and reasonable prices. Oh my! This place had such good food. It easily was the best meal I ate in a week. We sat down already knowing Guy Fieri ate here but didn't know much else. Somehow through pure chance we ordered the three dishes that are the locals favs as we noticed on a card at the table after ordering. The breakfast burrito was the bomb. Yes, you should order it! The eggs with crispy hash browns inside and your choice of meat, I did bacon, was so tasty with the green chili poured over it. It was plate licking good. The 7220 burrito was also a fave with the pork and the same green chili sauce. The chicken fried steak with mashed potatoes and gravy was also so tasty. We didn't stop there because we heard about homemade pie and homemade cinnamon rolls. The cinnamon roll was medium sized with home made icing and lots of cinnamon so decadent. The pies we had, peach & strawberry rhubarb, had flaky buttery crusts and full of fruit. One we did as is and one ala mode with a hearty portion of vanilla ice cream. Sooooo good!

And before we knew it, our meals were served up hot and oh so scrumptious! I definitely recommend - it's worth the 5-10 minute wait! You won't be disappointed! He brought us a water bowl for the dogs, and he gave us a ton of recommendations on the menu as well. For our meal, we started with the dolma and kimchi pancake. The dolma was great, but the star here was the kimchi pancake! It was crispy, flavorful with the dipping sauce, and so delicious I wish we ordered 2. For our entrees, I had the General Tso's cauliflower which was the best fried cauliflower I've ever had. They were sooo extremely crispy and very flavorful! You can't go wrong with these or the cauliflower wings. The sauce on this was a tad spicier than I normally like that day, but that did not bother me given how delicious the dish was. My partner got the lettuce wraps which had a yummy tofu scramble that we also really enjoyed. Overall, I love the concept of comfort vegetarian food that Sweet Melissa offers, and I am so glad we stopped by here. The portion sizes are great, and I forgot to mention the great cocktails we had too! I would definitely come back if I'm in town again.

Since we had our dogs, we sat on the patio. Any other day, we wouldn't have done this - it was nearly 90* outside without a single cloud in sight - but our car was in the repair shop and we didn't have another option. We made a note to order and eat as fast as we could. We had our drink orders taken, and the server brought our dogs out a fresh bowl of water. We were waiting for a long time to get our drinks, and even longer to order our food. There was a sliver of shade that our dogs were able to lay under, but us humans were absolutely roasting. After waiting for 20 minutes to order our lunch, I actually went inside to order myself. We spent another 20 minutes waiting for our food to come out, our drinks nearly hot from the sun. When our food came out, the server apologized for the lack of shade and mentioned that Sweet Melissa does have shades, but they don't stand up against the wind, so they take them down. (That's not particularly useful information.) The food? Absolutely incredible. At this point, we had spend double the time we wanted here so we scarfed down our food and cashed out. I would have rather been warned about the patio and suggested ordering something to-go over being told (after an hour) that they know there's an issue with the patio being exposed in direct sunlight during the middle of the day. I want to say that it was worth it, but our service and experience really disappointed me.
