    Prime Rib French Dip
    Layla F.

We dined around 7pm Tuesday night. We were greeted by a friendly hostess and served by a very friendly and attentive waitress. I wish I could remember her name. I ordered the prime rib French dip and the beer cheese soup. Omg!! Both of the dishes were off the charts delicious. I've never heard of beer cheese soup I'm not a beer drinker at all, but I had to try it and I am in awe of it. It had a distinct beer flavor but for some unexplainable reason it was super yummy. When the prime rib French dip arrived I was over joyed to see it had very little fat and it was thinly sliced Yes I'm the person who picks out all the fatty edges off of meat. The bread !! Oh my gosh , it was light n soft:fluffy inside with a crunchy crust It had to have been baked the same day. This was heaven in a sandwich !! My son had the sirloin steak and enjoyed every ounce of it. I took half my sandwich home and our kind waitress packaged fresh horseradish and auju sauce in mini to-go cups. She was very thoughtful. I didn't even have to ask. I thoroughly enjoyed my dinner and when im visiting Laramie this will be my go -to place. Highly recommend.

    Sirloin with roasted mushrooms on

I was driving my son from Texas to Idaho for an internship and we had the good fortune to spend the night in Laramie, WY and visit the Altitude Chophouse & Brewery. As indicated by the name, this place had a delightful combination of steak and beer - both were excellent. The interior was cozy eclectic and large enough that they were able to seat us right away with no reservation. I started with their Tumble Wheat beer - a refreshing cloudy wheat beer that quickly washed the long drive away. I followed with their Caesar Salad which had a very generous portion of shaved asiago - I had to fend off my son. Then the steak! A medium rare, 8 oz sirloin steak with roasted mushrooms paired with an Altitude Altbier which rocked my world. The steak was well executed and very flavorful - especially with the mushrooms. The Altbier was the perfect companion - unfortunately, after that, I could not try any others. I would be remiss to not mention their excellent staff - they took great care of us, answered questions and made suggestions (excellent ones). Any time they saw us looking like we might want their attention, they came by. I will be quite happy when I am able to return - if you are close to Laramie, you should treat yourself right and spend an evening at the Altitude Chophouse & Brewery.

    Mussels

Came in with a larger party. Told us they wanted to wait until they could get waters on the table...? Not sure the reasoning but we waited 10 minutes while the restaurant wasn't very busy. The waitress was polite. The cilantro margarita tasted like sour mix. No hints of cilantro. The mussels appetizer had a good base but didn't come with a seafood fork. Only a spoon. They forgot to give our entire table silverware. There was some sort of hard shell (not a mussel) in my broth. One of the mussels was closed. Surprised I didn't get sick. Fish and chips tasted like they came from a frozen bag. No flavor. Breading wasn't great. They do offer vegan options. Overpriced for zero star food.

Staff playing on phones right next to me and I had leave my table to go get a soda.

Poor service and lack of leadership, FOOD POISONING! Our visit to Altitude House in Laramie was disappointing. One young waitress was hustling and overwhelmed, while other staff stood around -- some even on their phones (we have pictures) -- offering no help. The manager wasn't on the phone but stood chatting with employees instead of stepping in during a busy time. One of our meals was forgotten entirely, and even after the rest of us had finished eating, it still hadn't been brought out. While they did apologize, the lack of organization, teamwork, and leadership was evident. We expected much better. I had to come back for an update. My adult daughter didn't eat her chicken pasta. When we got home, she said, "It didn't taste right." After this, she was sick with food poisoning for two days!!! Stay away from this place!

Awesome prime rib and great atmosphere for a Friday night upscale dinner!

We had the prime rib! Great service and food for a Friday night upscale dinner. Quiet enough to talk and great music made a good ambiance. Only suggestion would be hot coffee with the cobbler!

I was looking to eating at Altitudes Chophouse. The atmosphere was pleasant and when we arrived we were greeted by the kindest hostess. Unfortunately, it went downhill from there. The brewery had ZERO IPAs available, in fact only ONE beer on their entire menu was available. The food presentation was beautiful, but tasted only okay. The service was horrible, didn't check back for refills on water or soda. We will not be back.

Actually, it is outside! I saw a ton of dogs on the patio today.

What time does it switch from the lunch to dinner menu?

The service here was great and I have to give a shoutout to Sydni for being such a lovely bartender. They have a marshmallow sour and hear me out because at first I was like, ummm idk about that but when I sampled it, it was like insanely stupid good. If you like to drink sours then I would recommend ordering that one. One of the coolest things that I've ever seen within my travels was a beer keg urinal that is in their men's bathroom. All in all, the service was amazing, the beer was amazing and I wound definitely stop in here again the next time that I'm in town. Once again, thank you Sydni.

It was well-balanced & finished clean. On our visit to the 2nd location, we arrived just after opening & were able to grab some cooler filler stouts , on top of our 2 pours for the passport. The service here was great, tho, again, it was early so we definitely beat the crowd! We were advised of the open container option, should we want to check out downtown while we sipped. I always love towns that offer this for their downtown, so, Bravo!

The brat came out sliced in half and situated on two lightly toasted slider rolls. The onion rings were lightly battered and perfect cook. I didn't hear any complaints from my colleague either. Beer: I tried a couple tasters of their micro brew and decided to go with the SOL DANCE. He brought us a water bowl for the dogs, and he gave us a ton of recommendations on the menu as well. For our meal, we started with the dolma and kimchi pancake. The dolma was great, but the star here was the kimchi pancake! It was crispy, flavorful with the dipping sauce, and so delicious I wish we ordered 2. For our entrees, I had the General Tso's cauliflower which was the best fried cauliflower I've ever had. They were sooo extremely crispy and very flavorful! You can't go wrong with these or the cauliflower wings. The sauce on this was a tad spicier than I normally like that day, but that did not bother me given how delicious the dish was. My partner got the lettuce wraps which had a yummy tofu scramble that we also really enjoyed. Overall, I love the concept of comfort vegetarian food that Sweet Melissa offers, and I am so glad we stopped by here. The portion sizes are great, and I forgot to mention the great cocktails we had too! I would definitely come back if I'm in town again.

Since we had our dogs, we sat on the patio. Any other day, we wouldn't have done this - it was nearly 90* outside without a single cloud in sight - but our car was in the repair shop and we didn't have another option. We made a note to order and eat as fast as we could. We had our drink orders taken, and the server brought our dogs out a fresh bowl of water. We were waiting for a long time to get our drinks, and even longer to order our food. There was a sliver of shade that our dogs were able to lay under, but us humans were absolutely roasting. After waiting for 20 minutes to order our lunch, I actually went inside to order myself. We spent another 20 minutes waiting for our food to come out, our drinks nearly hot from the sun. When our food came out, the server apologized for the lack of shade and mentioned that Sweet Melissa does have shades, but they don't stand up against the wind, so they take them down. (That's not particularly useful information.) The food? Absolutely incredible. At this point, we had spend double the time we wanted here so we scarfed down our food and cashed out. I would have rather been warned about the patio and suggested ordering something to-go over being told (after an hour) that they know there's an issue with the patio being exposed in direct sunlight during the middle of the day. I want to say that it was worth it, but our service and experience really disappointed me.
