We rented a home through their company for a weekend in blowing rock and had a disaster of an experience. We arrived at 5pm on a Thursday to no heat or hot water. After several hours of trying to reach their "emergency line" due to a gas smell in the home, I resorted to calling 911. Blue ridge sends their renters to an offshore call center at 5pm on a weekday with no one local to talk to. After we have spent several thousand dollars a night, this is simply inexcusable and poor customer service. As it turns out, blue ridge management had neglected to fill the propane to the home and we had to pack up and leave with two small children in below freezing temps and icy roads. The fire department pointed out that there was no working smoke detector, carbon monoxide detector or working heat, and that the condo was not safe to stay. After repeated calls to blue ridge the next morning, a representative assured me that I would be compensated for the hotel stay we had to purchase since we were displaced by their rental mismanagement. After several back and forth emails with blue ridge representative, "Amy Wright", I was informed that they had reneged on their promise to compensate. And that a refund of just the amount paid was "fair".
