I ordered the pastelillos de jueye (crab), garrucho (conch- HIGHLY recommended!!), pulpo (octopus), and Pollo (chicken). The 2 favorites of mine were the conch and octopus because the chunks of meat were so ginormous! They were also flavorful and fresh! You can tell they weren't stored for a while on some shelf. They tasted like they were caught that morning. One caveat about this place is that if they run out of food, they will tell you it's about a 5-10 minute wait to make more. Not the case. It took them upwards of about 30 minutes to make it and they did not seem like they were in a rush to make it. That is a big put off. That's why this is only a 4 star review and not a 5 star. They'd make more business if they were faster.

They accommodated our big group perfectly, and the entire staff handled the seating and service without a single hiccup. When we arrived, our table was ready and made it easy for everyone to talk and enjoy the evening together. We kicked off the night with classic cocktails cultivated by our bartender, Samuel. The mixed drinks were nicely complimented with the coconut bread, fried cheese and an absolutely phenomenal tuna tartare which set the bar incredibly high for the rest of the meal. The absolute highlight of the night was bringing in our own freshly caught fish, a king mackerel. Reservation is highly recommended if you plan to do this. The kitchen prepared it three ways for us--into the most vibrant, citrusy ceviche, incredible fish tacos and seared mackerel steaks to absolute perfection. The multiple styles blew us away and tasted unbelievably fresh. Every other dish we ordered were equally spectacular. The Peruvian fried rice was packed with flavor and the octopus was perfectly tender. We were married in Zihuataneho Mexico, were spoiled with good Mexican food living in Chicago, and find after moving outside Nashville, we have craved better Mexican food, so we came here. Gina came to our table to make sure all was OK with wait staff, and food we were eating. Well, it was MORE than OK! Food was wonderful, made fresh, and all questions and requests were answered. She did make us feel like "old friends", and after a long incredible dinner, she offed us 2 tequila shots, and played our "special married song" for our special anniversary. We both had tears in our eyes as that was so special. She took photos for Facebook (but we do not belong) so we are hoping she texts them to my husband who gave her our number.
