I also preferred a local installer in Northern Virginia, and Sky NRG fit that requirement perfectly. We signed the contract on July 26, and the panels were installed on September 10. Megan handled the HOA permissions, and the installation was completed ahead of schedule when Sky NRG found an opening that suited me. Juan and his team managed the installation with careful attention to the aesthetics of the panel placement. Robert, Sky NRG's CEO, was present during the installation, underscoring their commitment to customer satisfaction. We discovered issues with my existing electrical panel during the process, and Robert recommended replacing it. Prior to signing off on this quote I question that someone should come back to assess the estimate again and I was told that it would not be necessary. Thereafter, I signed off on the contract for the quoted price of $3,850.00. There was concrete that had to be broken up to have the shower installed which was done. Digging started and my wife was informed that they had to build a wall. I was not home at the time this wall issue was addressed. My wife called me and informed me of the wall that was needed. I gave the ok to let them add a wall. Later that evening I was shocked to hear that a 5' wall was an extra $400 that was not in the original quote. Donnie stated that he didn't realize that there was no wall present when he did the estimate. Had the work not started I would have cancelled the work because the price was not what was agreed on. This was very disappointing to see the price increase this dramatically. I arrived home after work, and I was shocked to see that the wall for the shower was actually in the doorway. Now the bathroom entry door only opens half way so we have to enter sideway. Towards the end of the job Donnie stated that they could install another door to open outward or move the doorway. I did not agree to the additional work because the extra charge for the wall was snuck in. The shower was installed and works fine. The job is now complete and I was informed that I would not be charged for the toilet valve that they broke. In my opinion this obligation was not met, and under duress I paid the extra $400.

The Solar Solution team was helpful, knowledgeable, and very pleasant to deal with from start to finish. They explained the technology and the complex permit process, as well as the tax and grant processes. They handled all the paperwork for our DC grant. Between the DC grant and the Federal tax credit 70% of our installation was paid for. Now we're gaining credits instead of monster electric bills during A/C season. We also elected to become "partners" with Pepco and Solar handled all that paperwork too. We get a nice not-so-little check every quarter for the SRECs that our system produces. If you're interested in going Solar, I highly recommend Solar Solution. They make a daunting home improvement a lot easier.
