Relaxing, Fun, and Perfect for the Whole Family! Our family (kids ages 8 to 15) had an absolute blast rafting with Mountain Waters. It was the perfect mix of relaxing and fun--just enough adventure to keep everyone engaged without being intense. Sam, our guide, was fantastic. She made the whole trip a blast with her quick humor and steady stream of bad dad jokes (which I'll admit--I appreciated more than I should've). She kept the kids laughing and made the whole experience feel easy and memorable. The photos turned out amazing, and I'm just glad we all stayed safe during Beaver Shark season. Highly recommend for families looking for a fun, light adventure with a great guide.

We did the Animas river trip with 5 in our group. 2 adults, a teen and 2 kids 9 and 11. What a great day, fun had by all of us. About 12 years ago I had a traumatic experience in the Arkansas and I have not been able to bring myself to do any rapids until now. I felt that the team of guide's confidence and knowledge of the river was exceptional and I did not feel nervous on the water at all. The class 3 rapids were really fun! Our boat guide Clara (I think that was her name, totally forgot now) was great we loved her little bits of knowledge of the area and respect for the river.

Our experience was fantastic! Our guide was very knowledgeable and did a great job not only ensuring our safety but also letting us enjoy the river to its fullest. Hannah was our personal guide. They ensured the boats weren't over crowded for us to avoid getting stuck like other companies, not to name any names that start with C. lol I could sense a healthy rivalry that made it even more enjoyable. I also enjoyed seeing the coworkers interact with each other just having fun. They weren't afraid to have some fun and encourage us to join in which I needed and enjoyed! We have two young children with us, 4 and 6 and I never felt like their safety was compromised. The safety measures were explained to us in detail and Hannah was always more than willing to answer our silly question during our time on the river. If you're on the fence, don't hesitate. Just do it! It was one of our highlights of our trip even with younger children. Also, buy the pictures because you won't be taking many, if any!

Clara (our great guide's) boat on the lower Animas River.

We've been on many rafting tours in North & Central America. Mountain Waters is top notch. Everything was easy and safe. Lower Animas is pretty tame. We still had a good time. Clara Frink was a top notch guide.

The tour guide was great we went on the Mesa verde tour and we got to see the park to the fullest extent in half a day snacks and drinks were provided, if there were 6 stars I would select

We had originally signed up to go down the Animas river, but unfortunately the water levels were too high.

The service was fast, friendly, and professional, and the staff really went above and beyond. 10/10 would ride again--and probably take way too many pictures again. There was also a docent who was talking to people about the museum and the different things that were there. It was a cute little place and a great way to get out of the hot sun for a bit. It is also free to visit which was great! My only gripe is how warm it was inside. They don't have air conditioning so I wouldn't recommend visiting on a super hot day. They do seem to have heaters, though, so visiting in the winter would probably be fine. The museum itself is easy to miss. It's tucked behind the railyard and you have to go through the ticketing office for the railroad to find it. There are tracks you have to cross to get there so it is not entirely accessible for those with mobility issues. This is a great place to stop in and learn about the area. Definitely worth a visit if you have family in town.

Julie reached out via email asking what my interests were, and together we cultivated 2 distinct tours, one in the town of Telluride (Ghost + History) and another, which was an excursion. Julie did not disappoint, in fact, both experiences were way-beyond my expectations. Julie was delightfully engaging, very much prepared, and local-lore knowledgable, She was an absolute joy to be around and learn from. Before flying to Telluride, I read Tomboy Bride, which is Harriet Fish Backus' account of living in the mines as an assayer's wife beginning in 1904. Julie built on that historical accounting with a thoughtful discussion, and a tour of some of the less-talked about locations, notably the 'cribs' near the river and their function, along with a visit to the Sheridan Opera House (1913 Vaudeville) and other important locations. The standout experience, for me, was the excursion and hike to Mystic Falls, with historical stops along the way, including a great view of Trout Lake. I include a triumphant pic of Mystic Falls after a relatively easy hike down to the rocks. I cannot say enough about how fortunate I felt to have known and learned from Julie. Sign up for her tours, you will not regret it.

We paddled through sun, rain, and hail, all in one trip! Epic, I tell u!! Our guides, Marcus and Robby were the best! Super cool dudes who were super knowledgeable! They kept us safe and made the experience such a blast! Colorado had the lowest snowfall this past winter so the river was really low and rapids were on the slow side. Make sure to check river flow and CSF levels if u decide to book this adventure so that u're not surprised by the low flow. The river only clocked in at 620 cfs when we ran it, so we didn't have too many big rapids and drops, but it was a very technical run and such a blast to experience this ultimate and wild experience with my hubby!!

Kaia was knowledgeable, organized, accommodating, and could have shepherded us down the route completely by herself if necessary. River guiding is clearly in her blood and the generations of river guides in her family must be proud. She is equal parts expert guide and fun banterer. If you're 8 or 80 or somewhere in between like us, you'll appreciate how Kaia gets down. No disrespect to any other river guides, but if Kaia doesn't win MVP of the week, they got to scrap this system and build back from the bottom up. On the other hand, there was one guide reportedly named ZB that was a complete vibe killer. If that guy wins, they also need to revamp this whole operation. Hope he enjoys a nice Dante's Inferno from Barber and the Bookcase and rethinks his approach to River guideship.
