How is it that…read morea client can provide Delta Dental PPO insurance information ahead of time, have the Laguna Dental Center verify the benefits, along with the website repeatedly referencing that is accepts Delta PPO and being proud to be a PPO dentist. However, I quickly discovered through EOB that the practice was actually NON-PAR/out-of-network, which made the bill to be around $1600. After reading multiple reviews describing similar experiences, it seems this may be a pattern rather than an isolated misunderstanding. Patients deserve clear disclosure of a provider's network status before treatment, especially when insurance information has been provided and verified in advance. It's unfortunate there is such a lack of care for the client.

My old dentist had identified a few teeth to be filled , but this dentist was going to cap four teeth , root canal one and bond three teeth ! Then I went to see Dr. Soraya . Not only she was telling me the same thing my old dentist recommended , but she never bad mouthed my neighbor's dentist . I thought not only she was honest , but a professional . She said " he might have an aggressive approach . But you can always crown your teeth if the fillings fail . If cap then now , your teeth are grounded down and you can not reverse that decision . and the root canal should be done only if the tooth shows pain after being worked on or if during her working on it she feels it's necessary " And of-course it's 5 years later and her fillings are still in my teeth and I have no pain . No root canals or caps ! She is so gentle too . I highly recommend her . My neighbor also switched to her office . During the procedure, the vibration from the drill became too overwhelming, and I stopped him -- not once, not twice, but eight times. Every single time, without a hint of frustration, he stopped, checked in with me, and waited until I was ready to continue at my own pace. His patience and compassion were extraordinary. By the eighth stop, rather than pushing through, he came up with a thoughtful plan: he rescheduled my appointment, prescribed Valium to help me relax the night before and the morning of the procedure, and suggested I swap my regular AirPods for noise-canceling headphones to block out the sounds that were triggering my anxiety. The difference was night and day. When I came back, we got through the entire procedure smoothly and comfortably. I left that chair feeling proud of myself -- and that's entirely because of the care and creativity Dr. Mostofi brought to my situation. The office staff deserves just as much praise. Both he and his staff have been wonderful from the start (short of wiping my tears away when I had a melt-down in their office after they pointed out all the work I would need to get done as a result of my unintentional self-neglect!).... but I digress! What I appreciated the most was their honesty and willingness to help me finance everything in the best way possible and I am comparing that to a second opinion I got that seemed anything but honest or caring! As I was getting the necessary work done over a period of two and a half months, Dr. Haghighi went out of his way to explain to me along the way what was getting done, any modifications that needed to take place, and more importantly, he listened to and addressed my concerns regarding some issues I had in the past with using oral anesthetics containing epinephrine. Not only did he accommodate my needs but he was checking along the way to see how my body reacted so he can make sure to change the dose, if necessary, at my follow-up treatments. I believe Dr. Haghighi is not only a great dentist, but he also has excellent bed-side manner, which I consider just as important as someone's skill level!
