I've been going to see Dr. Barnar for over 10 years. He is always so kind and GENTLE!! He always greets me with a smile and shows genuine interest in me and my family. His exams are thorough and I am in and out in about 30 minutes. I never have to wait in the waiting room. They are always ready for me. Dr. Barnar never recommends work I don't need. Please do not have your work done by this office as they are not on the up and up. They will request CASH Payment when they already received payment from the Insurance Company. You will pay double for all your work and please get a second opinion in regards to their treatment plan because they add unnecessary work to make you pay more. Their staff is not helpful when it comes to billing and if you ask for your file, you will be requested to pay $150. If you have similar problems call your Insurance Carrier and double check the math to make sure the payments from your insurance is credited to your account and ONLY agree to work that is covered by your Insurance. Do not have them open up a Credit Account for you because that is asking for more accounting mishandling. read more

Dr. Banar gives excellent care. I've been going to his office for 3 years and have moved to Los Angeles, but still make the drive down to keep the same dentist. When I first came to Dr. Banar's office my mouth was a mess. I had 7 cavities, two metal fillings that were leaking metal into my mouth and needed an oral surgery to have wisdom teeth removed and he took care of it all. Honestly, you get what you pay for, and even if he is considered more expensive I would rather spend a little more and make sure that my teeth are well taken care of then have shoddy dental work done. I went to several dentists for a consultation on my compromised bridge. I knew I could not get the bridge fixed, for it was over 17 yrs. old, and this involved four teeth altogether. I was given several options on how my problem could be fixed. I chose to get 4 implants in that area. I liked the fact that Dr. Barnar took the time to answer all my questions, explained what he would do and I did not feel rushed through the consultation. He gave me the feeling of confidence that he knew what he was doing. I believe he has been practicing for over 27 yrs. I had not had a good experience with my previous implant so I was anxious and worried about this large procedure. I have had done the first part of my procedure with 2 extractions, 2 bone grafts and 2 two implants. Another two implants will be put in about 4 months in the future. It was a good experience, considering what I had done and seems to be a success for the first part. I'm glad I picked Dr. Barnar to do the work and I won't be fretting the experience of the the next phase. The entire staff has been very friendly, Heidi his assistance is really good chair side, makes you feel comfortable, and is attentive. Dr. Barnar is a good dentist and knows what he is doing. I visited Turquoise Dental after finding an $80 voucher for cleaning, X rays and a dental exam, so I was hoping this would be a positive experience seeing Dr. Barnar for the first time. The second I walked in, he looked for as many problems as possible and started to plot any possible way he could overcharge me. First, he said I needed a deep cleaning due to tooth decay (which doesn't make that much sense since I am only 25 and I have pretty good dental hygiene even. Another dentist did confirm that the tooth was starting to decay but didn't resort to such drastic measures as Dr. Barnar did) and then he tried to convince me that I needed gum surgery immediately (which is something that my pediatric dentist and the new dentist I am seeing disagreed with. They both said that surgery is kind of a drastic option at this point for me). After demanding that I get the deep cleaning and gum surgery, he gave me a new estimate and totally ignored the fact that I came in with an $80 voucher saying that it did not apply to my case. I went into Turquoise Dental thinking I would find a good affordable dentist, but now I would never recommend him to anyone. His false advertising and rude demeanor were extremely off-putting and I would never visit him again or recommend him to anyone! read more

Someone refer to him. I went there twice and i prefer not to go to him ever again. They charge me twice for a crown which caused a problem. I had root canal treatment for the same tooth before the crown. The root canal was not done properly or the crown by him and it caused me problems a week before my wedding. To add insult to injury I had a second opinion of the work I received and the dentist was extremely concerned and stated I'm going to have trouble with the crowns done by Dr. Barnar. The office staff was kind and friendly. I paid $40 for a office visit. I got their treatment plan with $7,000 worth of work needed. Went to another dentist and half the stuff wasn't needed. I wanted to get a copy of my X-rays. I was told I had to pay $50 to get them. Just curious Why I paid $40 for X-rays if I have to pay an extra $50 to get them? Overall I was turned off by the latter. It would cost me around $90 for my X-rays. All I wanted was a second opinion and it was jumping through hoops. I won't be back. It's one thing if it was a free consultation and I had to pay for X-rays. But I already paid for a consultation I shouldn't have to pay for my X-rays. Again the office stay was great it was the ordeal with my X-rays turned me off. read more

How sad! I know Dr Barnar so many years, He did a great job on my teeth many years ago. That is why i went back end of last year again. It was a lot of dental work, an it is done perfectly. But financial part was a disaster, i knew he charges more than average, but i did not mind. This time i was charged $8, 000 at front before start the dental work, on the contract expecting insurance payment was $1200.-. i found out last minute, insurance paid 3,387. I requested refund. . Then the nastiness and lying started . Heidi who takes care of the finance finally agreed to pay only $$1750. back. i wasn't allowed to talk with Dr Barnar about this matter, It will be reported to insurance comp. dental association, consumer rights offices, an i will go to small claims court. If you go there you be AWARE will be screwed financially read more

My experience was that Dr. Barnar did a bait n switch on cost of first visit. Was to be $39 but when I didn't have him do recommended work the charge went to $375 . Not only that he tried to charge me a 10% fee on the $5665 for work he wanted to do and $600 for financial arrangements which consisted of us handing over our credit card. The total was then $1490 that he billed us. I have since gone to two other dentist and both confirmed that I did not in any way need two of the three crowns he wanted to do. I am still in dispute with him and my credit card. If you have had work done by him and the result were not good, you can report him to the Dental Board of California. read more

I went in for the free consult from the flyer we got in the mail. I've got quite a few dental problems, and I wanted to get an estimate of how much it would be to fix everything. I got to the office, and it was beautiful. Very top of the line in the waiting room. The staff seemed friendly enough. They took me back pretty quickly. I'd estimate about a 5 minute wait. Nobody else was there at all. They did the x-rays. Then we got put into a room and the dentist did the exam. He was very nice, gentle, and knowledgeable. The major downfall of this dental office was the prices. They quoted me art around 10 thousand dollars for everything. He was charging upward of 400 for a simple tooth extraction, which I've gotten taken care of somewhere else for 1/3 of the price. I feel like this dentist is wayyyyy too overpriced. This dentist is the worst I have ever been to. Staff is atrocious and the dentist cares only about money and not patient health, in my opinion. I had a terrible experience and had to have all of the root canals & fillings RE DONE at another dental office due to this offices' material breaking down/cheap material used while I was charged 30 percent more than any other office I had been too. Also, I never went back to this office after a major sinus infection was contracted and this office has the audacity to send me to collections for treatment and crowns I NEVER RECEIVED b/c I NEVER WENT BACK OR RETURNED after I contracted a MAJOR infection AND HAD TO HAVE SURGERY FOR. Dr. Barnar is nice but I can not say good things about the front office. My insurance covers most of the major work but apparently they request an order for claims. Vicki sent one claim for two separate works and my insurance did not make payment due to one claim. They tried to arrange something with me but I did not like how they handled a simple insurance procedure they should know. This is a big NO for a medical establishment. In addition, I personally don't like Vicki's attitude. She was supposed to send a payment plan for another major work but she never followed up with me.
