Do not rent boats from this place. We got scammed! Website claimed to have "luxury" pontoon for rent. I took the bait as my whole family was coming in for Labor Day weekend. $300 for one day, non refundable. Let me say not only was I disappointed, I was totally embarrassed to show this boat to my family. Seats with major damage and taped with duct tape. Dirty seats, nasty carpets. A real luxury boat! Further, upon returning the boat they claimed we ruined the prop (we did not). Another $300 ! In trying to negotiate with the manager and the owner, both proceeded to yell at me because I questioned both the condition of the boat and this "ruined" prop. I'm angry but have no recourse. This place was nothing but friendly, accommodating and a great place to stay for us! The first cabin they put us in had some sewer issues. Without mussing a beat they moved us to an even better one, even bringing us the keys and hdlpiing us to move. We rented a pontoon boat for the day (8 a.m to 5 p.m), and the girl who works at the marina in charge of renting them checked and re-checked to make sure our tank was full and it was perfect for us. We requested a pizza be ready by the time we got back and as soon as we pulled in it was put in the oven, fresh and hot and delicious by the time we were ready to head to our cabin. Is it a 5 star hotel? No....but a quaint, very nice, rustic cabin. The cabins were clean, the staff friendly and went above and beyond for us. I'd stay here a thousand times again! Careful ! Do not the the friendly staff at the desk take you off guard. This place is not a customer friendly place. They will rip you off! I rented a boat for what was called a "Day" for fishing. A bass boat. The day was 9 am to 2:30 because that is their hours. How do you fish for a "day" with those hours? So, I rented the boat for 2 days, which should have been actually a day. This place is 15 miles from town, I asked where the nearest accommodations were and was persuaded to rent a cabin. We fished late fishing and went to the cabin to discover the key of the cabin di not work and we could not get into it. So, we left for a 15 mile ride to town to find a hotel. The next day I asked for a refund because we had not used the cabin at all and they would not give us a refund. We lost 99 dollars. I could understand this if they were full, but all of the cabins were empty. The "bass boat" we got was a disaster. It had never been cleaned out and wasn't probably even safe to tak out on such a large lake. Pass on this place or you will be sorry. read more

Planned a guys weekend at the lake...rented a fabulous place through airbnb and had a pontoon boat rented for one of the days...all was great until we got to the boat. The boat was a total piece of junk. it looked old and beat up. The upholstery was mismatched and torn and the carpet was disgusting. Then when the attendant went to start the boat up it must have taken 15 minutes to get it running, so of course we are immediately thinking we are going to get out to the middle of the lake and it is not going to start. fortunately it didn't go quite that badly. however, once we got into open water and opened up the throttle, the thing was puttering along so slowly, I could have walked faster. Plus, the anchor they gave us was grossly insufficient for the size boat we had...forcing us to constantly re-position the boat to stay near the fellas in the water, as the anchor did nothing to allow us to hold our position. For what they charge for a daily boat rental, I expected far more. We were all completely disappointed and would not recommend this marina to anyone. If you do think about using them, I would make sure you have the option to inspect the boat first, before making the payment. read more

My daughter and I rented luxury pontoon for the day at $250 from Moutardier Marina in August 2018. I made the reservation on line at www.moodydear.com. The photos on their website are from when the pontoon was new. We arrived and found the pontoon to be a piece of sh*#. The seats were held together with duct tape and the entire boat was in piss poor condition. The steering was not good, down right dangerous. The horn, navigation lights and horn did not work. They provide a whistle to replace the broken horn. And you can't stay out when it gets dark because the navigation lights do not work. If the owner treats his boats like this I can't imagine how he maintains his kitchen. I would rent a boat from this marina again, and I was to afraid to eat anything coming off the grill at this marina. I wouldn't give this marina another nickel until a new owner took the operation over and turn things around. The photos are of the pontoon that we rented in August of 2018. We saw the marina's fleet and they were all like this. The photos don't lie. We spoke to someone filling up at the gas pump and asked them where they rented their pontoon boat. Theirs was very nice and well maintained. They shared with me they rented it from Jeannine's Boat Rental on Nolin Lake 270-286-9222. I will be contacting them for my next pontoon reservation. The renter of that boat also shared with me she rented from Moutardier Marina two weeks ago and was disappointed with the piece of sh*# she was given. This place has gone down hill. Used to come here 10 years ago and had great experience but not this time. The cabin stove was 400 years old, the beds were very uncomfortable, the linens were as old as the stove. Now to the staff- I know how hard it must be to get people to work in the middle of nowhere but the people at the dock were not the brightest group of individuals and that includes the owner. Yes they were friendly but have no sense of urgency or customer service skills. Now to the piece of crap they call a pontoon boat, it did have newer motor but that was about the only thing nice I can say. The carpet, or what was left of it was disgusting and the seats were even worse. Won't be back and would not recommend to my worst enemy read more

A group of us rented a house at Nolin Lake specifically to be able to go boating. We reserved a luxury Pontoon. The boat was moldy and had large duct tape patches on the seats. When we arrived the boat wouldn't start due to a crack in the fuel tank and missing spark plugs. Apparently the marina knew the spark plugs were on back order. The marina did not notify us ahead of time to cancel the reservation (and allow us to cancel our trip). The marina did not have any other boats available for us to use for the day or offer to compensate us in any way other than refunding our deposit. Rather than being apologetic the manager was extremely rude. I would strongly discourage anyone from renting boats at this marina. read more
