I am the manager of a downtown Baltimore restaurant located across the street from Camden Yards called Frank & Nic's West End Grille. We rented the Tiki Bar from Movable Mixtures for the Orioles Opening Day to have on our outdoor patio to sell liquor and beer. The bar was well built and really cool looking, definitely grabbed peoples attention. It was equipped with two flat screen tv's with Direct TV, soda gun, coolers for beer, ice bins and plenty of shelving for liquor. Not much more to say about Moveable Mixtures than that they are the best in the business. From start to finish, the staff is professional and first rate in all they do. From menu planning, developing a drink list, on-site set up and break down as well as the actual execution of the event, everything is always great. I have used them on 3 different occasion and it's always a slam dunk. The staff is great to work with and is always willing to bend to make your event a memorable success. Moveable mixtures helped take our event to the next level. They worked within our budget and delivered high quality service exactly as promised. Sheila and her team brought ideas to the table that I never would have been possible, particularly within the time and budget we were working with. Their service, both during the planning stages and the actual event, was exceptional: very responsive and a general pleasure to work with. Do NOT book a wedding with Moveable Mixtures. Our wedding was 9/9/12. After they received our deposit it was almost impossible to reach them. When it came to our actual wedding day they were a nightmare to work with. Not only was our "day of coordinator" Sheila not there throughout the majority of the day, we paid for several things we did NOT receive. We paid for a tiki bar with a Water wall, Fresh Water Misters and it was suppose to have a TV so we could play our slide show. It had none of the above. When we went to ask Sheila why this was she was nowhere to be found. One of their employees actually told us that we got the newest smallest tiki bar because the one we were suppose to have was being used at another event. As if that wasn't bad enough my Mom and Sister were the ones who had to set up the chairs for the ceremony and my friends had to set up the tables and decorations for the reception. They didn't even have a lighter to light our candles. THEN we had 2 cakes delivered because we had a large wedding. Moveable Mixtures misplaced one of our cakes so several of our guest did not get cake which my father in law had to cut and pass around because Sheila was not there, not to mention they had no forks for guest to eat cake with. When we asked about the cake nobody knew where it went. My husband and I went back to the location a week later to grab some things we had left there and Mike from the sailing school (where our venue was) let us know we would need a dumpster. We asked why and he said because cakes don't last that long. Sure enough there was our cake that was delivered untouched. We've called both Sheila and asked to speak with Phil the owner to discuss these issues, and to ask for a refund for the things we paid for and did not receive. We have not heard back from Phil and we've been trying to get in touch with him for 15 days now. This is just ridiculous. I don't know how you can treat clients like this especially a bride on their big day. Save yourself the hassle and heartache and go somewhere else!!!!! read more
