If I could give it a zero I would. This company is downright dangerous. They moved me into my new house in 2022. It was an unmitigated nightmare. I'm not going to go on and on. Rather, I'm going to show you what they did, give you a bit of background, and let the photos speak for themselves. Nearly EVERYTHING they moved in had some level of damage. However, here are some of the MANY shocking examples. They arrived at the move-out house about 4.5 hrs late, and, when they were unable to finish packing everything and load it on the truck, they left it outside all night. (see images) They were also late the next morning. I got to the move-out house that I had just sold before they arrived. See what I found in the images. My furniture and belongings were outside all night, IN THE RAIN. Oh, and they were drinking on the job. When I confronted the asshole owner about this, his incredible response was "You can't prove it." Oh, really (see image). This has got to be the absolute worst moving company. Over the phone that said they had moved motorcycles before which was a lie. We paid for extra space on the truck so that nothing would be placed on out motorcycles but that didn't happen and they caused over $2500 in damages to our bikes. All of our boxes were damaged because they over packed the truck( 4 or 5 stops worth of items were on the truck). Several items broken and they had the audacity to blame us and say they were doing us a favor by transporting the bikes. Beware of this company and make sure you get insurance or you will be out of luck trying to get them to pay for crap they damaged. They're nice to you (Rachel) when they're trying to get your business but once they screw up your items, they become nasty and don't want to deal with you. BUYER BEWARE!! The absolute worst moving company... My delivery date was changed three times and I was told the average time from east coast to west coast is 5-7 days. It took TWO WEEKS! This company is very nice and professional in the beginning and then as soon as they pick up your belongings... they don't care. Their estimate is way off.... and they will nickel and dime you for every penny . Almost all of my 12 pieces of furniture were damaged. Legs broken on two pieces... scratches, and damage caused from them improperly packing and wrapping my furniture. The delivery was even worst. I paid 50% down... average is 20%. I specifically stated one day I was not available....after waiting two weeks and of course this was the day they came. They told me that it was $100 an hour for them to wait. Movers refused to show me my belongings until I paid them the balance in cash. They had no tools to put together my furniture that was taken apart on the east coast ...and keep complaining they were tired from being on the road for one month. Their truck had California plates stating "moving on" on the driver's side door. I had to pay additional charges for cubic feet, boxes, etc. and when I found out that their 18 wheeler was not allowed to block the parking spots in my apartment complex....they charged me an additional $469.00 for what they list as a shuttle. Their shuttle was a beat up pick up truck with no bumpers. Also, many boxes were crushed and one of my wardrobe boxes was crushed almost in half and all my clothes were off the rod and SOAKING WET!! For sure it was the worst service I ever had in my life. Miss Rachel Shamo has promised an exceptional service, and the fact is I'm getting a special nightmare. Many items were damaged. My most valuable thing, a 65's TV screen is cracked. Up to now, nobody gave me a response about replacing that. It has been a very stressful experience. My wife is under her last months of pregnancy, and instead of enjoying this magical moment, we have to deal with these problems because of their negligence. Very disappointed, very frustrated. Worst moving company ever. Great salesperson when you call who tells you how fantastic they are. They broke my glass table, Big Green Egg and despite being assured that they knew how to move treadmills, took mine apart and never put it back together. They essentially threw my grill into the truck causing grease and ash to fall to the floor. They then tracked the grease into my new home and onto the carpet. I needed to move some things I had store in Virginia to my new place in nyc, and I was super nervous, because I couldn't be there with the movers, but they took every measure to put me at ease. I do not recommend that you use Move In USA. What went well: - Personable sales consultant - Easy booking process - Sales consultant was in constant communication leading up the move date - Reasonable pricing - Movers were punctual - Movers were efficient What did not go well: - Their efficiency came at a cost... -- Several articles were damaged during the move. -- Freshly painted walls damaged throughout the house during the move. The damage was cause by the movers bumping and dragging furniture against the walls. The movers also slid their bodies against the wall, which created huge, dark drag marks from their dark colored clothing. -- The claims process is absurdly arduous: --- Claims are handled by a third party --- The claims company only accepts claims through the mail. "Claims received via email or fax will not be accepted. Documents or pictures stored on disks, flash drives or other removable storage media are not accepted." So you will have to print all of the photos of the damages and mail them, in 2021 where we are lucky if our mail isn't lost. --* The claims company puts the onus on the claimant to establish claim amounts for each item rather than sending a estimator for an assessment. Be prepared to put forth a ton of effort in this regard because the movers will damage your property. - I was given a separate email address to contact about the damages incurred during the move. I sent an email to that address (and cc'd the sales consultant), but no one from that email address ever responded. The sales consultant responded only after I sent a follow up email to both email addresses, so communication plummeted post-move. - They don't do anything to protect your doors, floors etc. When asked about this, I was told it was a safety hazard for the movers to wear shoe covers, which I could understand. However, upon watching the movers my neighbors used, I noticed the measures they took to protect your property. Here is what the neighbor's movers did before even opening the truck to unload: * Measured doorways and other spaces * Laid down temporary carpeting paths throughout the house * Draped drop clothes over the doors, including the front door Move In USA LLC movers did nothing! We just moved from Finksburg, MD to Johnstown, pa. Got 4 estimates and this moving company came as 2nd highest. Cheapest one is Optima. I made a biggest mistake of choosing this one. Rachel gave me a flat rate of $3800 and said everything will fit and she did so many moves. I am not familiar with either truck sizes, I requested her to come to visit but she just asked to mail what otheThere are two other people came to visit, and I sent both listing. Based on the listing, she told me the price, after loading and started, they added another $1800. Even my highest bid was $5200, I would never use move USA again. Don't believe the estimate. We were quoted $3800 to move our household items into storage then we was told another $2400 was needed on the day of the move. They stated, it took more hours than anticipated even though they'd determined the estimated hours needed. We were also quoted $1700 to move our items from storage to our new home. Two weeks before the move to our new home, we were told the price would be $2400 because it was their peak time of year, the summer. I was also told it would only take 10 hours for the second move to our home. Of course I agreed with the new price, they had all of our belongings. The day the movers arrived with our furniture, I was told we'd already been charged 5 hours because that's how long it took them to load our furniture from the warehouse to their truck. They unloaded furniture for two hours then said they needed to pack the rest of our items onto their truck from the website and return to our home. They returned 3 hours later. I'd paid for 10 hours prior to having all of my belongs unloaded from the truck. Also beware of their policy regarding breaking your items. Basically, you won't be compensated for much. THEY WERE A SCAM. Their quote came in lower than everyone else then after packing all of our belongings, they told us they wanted more money. There is also another complaint about them on the Better Business Bureau's website. It just so happens that person was also quoted $3800 and was told more money was due after the packing had begun! The sales representative Keith Young was very helpful . The movers were very friendly and and they worked hard, but the claim department was the opposite. Rachel comes across as if she is going to work with you, but then she does not. When I contacted the claims department about two missing glass shelves she was very nice and accommodating , but when I contacted her about additional damage I sent her pictures of she denied seeing any damages in the pictures . She wanted me to settle for the offer they made which was $102.00. This cost was suppose to include two missing glass shelves, damage to an antique mirror size 50 x 40, damage to two pieces of a six piece wall unit. The wall unit two pieces weighed approximately 700-800 points together. The contract calls for 60 cents per pound. When I questioned her offer compare to the contract she told me that I signed a form; which states I will accept $50.00/ item. Since, I did not recall such a form, she sent me a copy which was the papers I signed the day I moved before they would remove any furniture off the truck had to pay and sign the documents. I signed those papers after 13 hours of assisting with the move and driving two hours from Maryland to Delaware. I was tired and hungry. I could not believe they would fraudulent get the customer to sign documents forfeiting their rights. The organization that governerns the moving companies and the contract states that damages would be paid at 60 cents per pound. Ms. Rachel Shamo , said the insurance closed the file, after she told me I had 60 days to register all claims; which I did within the 60 days. I would say to any perspective customers DO NOT SIGN ANY DOCUMENTS UPON DELIVERY. This will save you the trouble of filing a small claim suit . read more

What I didn't expect is for basically every negative thing people had to say would happen to me. ALL OF THE NEGATIVE REVIEWS ARE TRUE. The only reason this company gets 2 stars is because the movers were nice and my interactions with my representative, Greg Miller, were fairly pleasant. However, I would never recommend this company to friends or family! First, these guys will nickle and dime you. On our first conversation when I talked to Mr. Miller, I had a very vague but not really that far off estimates of how many boxes and the number of items being moved in order to receive an initial quote. I even said "it may be a few more boxes, does it matter"? He assured me that it didn't really matter a few boxes here and there. Of course on moving day I had to convince the movers that mr. miller told me a few extra things were okay. Then when our stuff finally arrived we were charged an extra $100.00 for "stairs". Not only did it take almost 25 days to receive our stuff, communication with the company was all on my end. I was originally told 7-21 days to move our stuff, 21 days being "highly unlikely". I had to call and email almost everyday after the 21max days had past just to make sure they still had my stuff. Mr. Miller gave me vague responses and couldn't even get in touch with his driver half the time. Now, I know this may seem dramatic but if someone had all of your personal belongings for multiple days over max amount of days they said it would take you'd be freaking out too. I felt like once they got my money they didn't even care anymore. Heres the worst part. When we got our stuff not only were boxes smashed, but a TV and mirror were completely broken as well as a desk that was broken but I glued it back together. I emailed Mr. Miller and all I was sent was the number for their claims department, In which you have to fill out paperwork and get TWO repair estimates on your own when the TV is CLEARLY smashed. This is the worst moving company I have ever dealt with! If I could give negative stars I would!! They don't come out to give you an estimate, they expect you to know what their parameters are so they " guestimate" your moving cost. I specifically asked for an early morning start due to an appointment I had at Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville Florida and needed to be on the road by noon. They said they would be at my house by 7 am but didn't show up until well after 9 am and were very slow. We finally needed to leave so we were trying to make the payment when the supervisor said it would be DOUBLE what we were quoted!! Talk about " bait and switch" scheme! Being as sick as I was, we couldn't stand around and argue so per the supervisor, we left the rest of the loading to them and left with the intention of speaking with the owner later. Well they either left quite a few items behind or stole them because they were not on the truck when it arrived in Florida. They refused to acknowledge any of it and basically held our possessions hostage until we paid the full amount. Several items were damaged and when we filed a claim they said we had to sign a statement that we wouldn't write a negative review such as this one or they won't send the check for the damaged items! At first they were great! I had a guy named Keith set it up. Take my millions of calls and orders and then three weeks before I move Keith left or changed position and I had another guy. This guy just seemed rude and short with his answers. I almost thought about canceling my whole order because of his shortness. But it was to close to me moving. I would ask him questions and I felt like he did not want to work with me on anything or didn't seem to be happy. The movers came on time and moved everything witch was great. Only down side was I asked them to take my table apart because it had two inserts and they didn't but it was ok figured they knew what they were doing. ... then I moved and did 30 days free storage ... they literally wanted to drop off my load to ms on the 30th day. Witch I'm like ok... I email the guy asking if they deliver to storage instead. He said yes and I asked if it's extra or any requirements and he said no. Well that was a lie because the simi said if he can fit in and out of it he will charge me 100$ every 50 feet witch was in my contract by the guy could of told me once I asked him any requirements. Then I emailed same man asking what is left due and how to pay it (already lost papers I moved coast to coast) and he didn't respond. Like I didn't matter to him. Most stresses out part of all this and he won't answer. I said screw him then I guess I'll call the simi. He told me what's left due and have cash and so on. Simi was very short and didn't like talking. I tried to get a estimate time frame cause I needed a uhual an shave kids and he didn't give me only only said he wil call 30 mins before witch dosent help me at all!! So simi gets here 4 hours after he said he would show up. They load my stuff up but half to take out half of someone else's. there sitting here throwing the other boxes to the floor and soon on and I care hear there stuff breaking!!! Then they broke my snob on my dresser!!! Also he threw a few of my boxes and broke my crock pot pictures, two glass pans, coffee mug, and that just from what I saw from opening it!! There's prob a lot more. He literally just threw it off the truck JD sure that was not the first time. They I guess cause I have a uhual they assumed I didn't want them to put all my bed frames and tables back together.. and I did but they said they had to go. I'm like dude that's not full service I expect my things back together and how do I get redundend for the things I just literally watch you break in front of my face. OMG..... this company was AMAZING!!!! Lee, Jordan and the third guy (sorry forgot his name) were great. They came to my house on TIME, asked all sorts of questions - making sure that they had everything I wanted package/moved. They assisted greatly with all my needs, never complaining and keeping a positive attitude despite my constant ADD, LOL. I was quoted about $2600 for an out of state move and with all my additional "packing" needs, I was very satisfied with my final total cost (about $4200). I HAD A LOT OF STUFF. All the other questions I received quotes for were much hire. Can't even imagine what those bills would haven been had I gone with the other options. I would so hire this company again! After I posted my review of their services and failure to appropriately communicate multiple times during a move, the associate who failed at communicating correctly, called me and texted me rude and somewhat threatening things about how I am going to be responsible for him losing his job. When I told him it was inappropriate to contact me, he continued his harassment via text. I contacted the company immediately about it and received no follow-up or apology from them. This was my first cross country move: Virginia to California. There were of different companies and a lot of scary reviews. I went with this company because it seemed like the lesser of the evils. They quoted me a good price and were very responsive. I am happy I went with them because they showed up on time, moved my stuff out of my apartment quickly, charged me Exactly what they quoted, delivered my stuff the next week which was so much faster than I expected! Moved DC to San Fran on 10/4/17. DC movers were great, placed numbered stickers on all my items, but SF movers were so disorganized that I couldn't even keep track of the items that came into the house, nor could they. Some of my furniture was dinged which happens I guess, but they folded my 18-month old mattress completely in half, wrapped it in plastic, & taped it. WHO DOES THAT? The shape was so odd that SF movers originally thought it was the couch & placed it in the living room! My mattress was packed appropriately in DC so not sure what happened in transit. They even lost two of my boxes with items worth approx $500. SF movers, who showed up randomly at different times & did not identify themselves as being with the company, scuffed the freshly-painted walls of our stairwell & hallway, & left a grease stain on the new carpet. The driver was incredibly rude & unprofessional. I was given less than a day's notice regarding when my shipment would arrive. Despite my status requests, the driver didn't contact me during his trip to give me enough time to request appropriate parking signage as most, if not all, large cities require--& upon signing for my goods he threatened to deliver straight to me any parking tix he might receive. He then told me there would be an add'l charge if the movers had to walk more than 50 feet to the house even though he purposely parked further away from the entrance than necessary. Then, as per their contract, they didn't unload anything off the truck until I signed for the goods & paid in full in cash--there was no way/opportunity to verify damage or missing items. Totally unethical! The driver did not lift a single box, yet when I tipped those who did the actual lifting, he demanded to see how much tip was given! After the "last" box was unloaded, I went down to the truck and asked the driver to verify that all items had been offloaded, but the trailer was already closed & he confirmed all boxes had been removed. That may have been true, but as noted above, two boxes are still missing. Where did they go?! So I filed a claim which went just as poorly and why I am writing this. So I filed a claim on 10/23 after taking inventory of missing & damaged items, and the rep, Rachel Shamo, told me it would take 60 days to process. A week later she emailed me asking for a detailed claim, which I already submitted the week prior. Then she said it would take 90 days to process the claim! Next email to Rachel in response to Move in USA LLC refunding me $108 for missing/ broken items, plus $48 "good faith payment" from management, totaling $150 total reimbursement. Rachel claimed to email me back, but sent the revised claim to the incorrect email address several times.My response: I acknowledge that I agreed to basic valuation protection at $0.60 per pound, yet such protection is intended to cover accidents and damage like dents on desks and perhaps even missing boxes. But basic valuation protection should not absolve Move In USA, LLC from its obligation to handle my goods with reasonable care and the good judgement of a professional moving company. My Simmons Beautyrest spring mattress was literally folded completely in half, wrapped tightly in plastic, and taped down so awkwardly that the SF movers thought it was a couch and placed it in the living room! Even they commented on and questioned why anyone would fold a mattress in half. Folding a mattress in half is a sure way to break a mattress; and that is what happened here: my mattress was not damaged. It was actively broken by the negligence and lack of care exhibited by one or more of your employees at Move In USA, LLC. Therefore, the reimbursement for the mattress should be covered outside of the basic valuation protection: the damage here was not basic nor should be its reimbursement. The name "Move In USA, LLC" implies that this company has professional experience in helping people move all over the USA. However, my dealings with Shelly Gold (sales rep for the company) and my interaction with the movers at the pickup location in Washington, D.C. were the only professional experiences I had with Move In USA, LLC. Rachel came back with a revised claim totaling $200 reimbursement, ($108 for damaged goods+$92 good faith payment). I would have expected a good-faith offer to fall between $450 and $500--still not enough to buy a new mattress but reasonable considering that other items of mine are still completely missing and that the inherent value of the warranty has been reduced to zero. After nearly 50 emails and 20+ calls/ "phone tags" the best that this company could offer was offer a total of $200, with the stipulation that I do not write a negative review or contact BBB ect. They said legally they only owe me $108 per the contract. The owner made no effort to contact me after I requested several times. I did my "homework when choosing a moving co., but was scammed. i recently moved from waldorf md to mooresville nc. i got an email from this company and we spoke for several weeks leading up to my move we went back and forth on pricing and we discussed alot of things. one day i realized that they needed 10 days once they picked up my stuff but i needed it next day so i called the rep back by the name of keith young and told him i needed it next day so then he qouted me in several more emails 3600 when i called to finalize he said oh i made a mistake its 4500 and i said no you need to honor your price well eventually they didnt and this is the same type of tactics they said others would do and they never would and so forth. well they did. my lawyer has all the emails and will have a field day and the funny thing is he tried to say it was a typo well i guess in 4 or 5 emals you would figure that out. i called mckendree moving and storage in waldorf with 3 days notice and they honored the 3600 and did a great job thanks mckendree for being so great where others fail. i would never recommend move in usa to nobody but mckendree to the world read more
