Many years ago when we joined rise I would have never guessed how he would take to the program. I have to give credit to the school, the instructors, and their core teachings! They know how to teach... serious and solid but also know when to have fun and keep it light. I've watched my son grow up a lot in these classes... I'm very proud of the young man he is becoming and again I have to say... thank you Rise!

I submited a formal complaint regarding the coach who conducted a children's basketball program…read more His behavior toward both my daughter and me was completely unacceptable, verbally abusive, and entirely inappropriate for someone entrusted with teaching young children. had my complaint been taken seriously I would not be here posting about ithad my complaint been taken seriously I would not be here posting about it, but instead was shoved off. I also learned that a very similar situation occurred during another classes. My eight-year-old daughter became upset and was sent off the court after being publicly yelled at for an unknown reason. I calmed her down and sent her back, then coach immediately raised his voice at her and sent her off the court again. Unprovoked. I calmed her a second time and let her sit out for five minutes. She quietly rejoined her group, waited patiently in line for her turn, and when it was finally her turn, the coach screamed at her in front of every child and parent that he was "done with her" and that she needed to leave the "His court." This was the third time she had been publicly removed from class that day. At this point I was extremely confused. I had witnessed nothing that justified this level of hostility toward an eight-year-old child. Assuming I had missed something, I walked to the side of the court and waited respectfully for an opportunity to speak with the coach. I did not interrupt the class or demand his attention. I simply wanted to understand what had happened so I could address the issue appropriately with my daughter. Instead of speaking to me professionally, the coach yelled at me to get off "his court." I was standing along the same perimeter where other parents and people walking laps were located. He then stated that he was "done" with my daughter and that we needed to leave. My daughter had spent most of the session crying on the sidelines confused over the situation, and it was obvious this coach had no intention of handling the situation professionally. Rather than force my daughter to remain there in tears, I quietly collected my son and began leaving with both of my children. As I walked away, without saying a single word to him, the coach repeatedly and aggressively yelled across the gym at my back: "Let them go! Let them go! I don't care! Get off my court! Let them go!" I want to be absolutely clear: This entire confrontation was completely one-sided. As a parent, I trusted your organization with the care of my children. That responsibility includes their emotional well-being as much as their physical safety. These classes are designed for children between the ages of six and twelve. Young children become frustrated, cry, make mistakes, and need guidance. It is the responsibility of a coach to teach, encourage, and redirect them--not scream at them, publicly humiliate them, or repeatedly remove them from participation without explanation. Most heartbreaking of all is lasting impact this coach has had on an eight-year-old child. This is not coaching. This is not discipline. This is intimidation. We were the target of his aggression multiple times without explanation.

I am a new member at the Georgetown recreation center. I must say, I am quite impressed with this…read moreestablishment. Upon walking in, I was greeted by a nice woman who explained the recreation center to me. There are 2 swimming pools, one inside and one outside. They actually have water aerobics here! There's a walking track upstairs so there's a place to go when the weather outside is too hot too windy or too rainy to walk. They have a beautiful gym with a lot of equipment. They have a book share shelf. You can take a book or leave a book or both! They have lots of exercise classes and dance classes, including country and ballroom. They have yoga and more. This center is not just for young people or old people or children or men or women, it's for everybody! I saw so many different types of people, it was just a wonderful place to be. Everyone was so kind and the energy was so upbeat. As of the day that I am writing this review, the price is $30 a month. They do have programs for older people called Silver Sneakers, so even the old people can stay in shape! This is not a place to bring your dog. There are too many good things to say about this place. LOVE this place!! I began training DefenceLABS about a year and half ago at Centex. I had tried…read moreother places that teach Krav Maga, Kickboxing, etc. to learn self defense and get some fitness in. I had also tried a women's basic self defense class led by Tyrus. I've met a lot of instructors and Tyrus is different. He has never come across as egotistical or a know it all. He's allowed me to stop in the middle of class and ask a what if type question. He has never shut me down but always given me an answer. So when DefenceLABS was being offered by him I decided to check it out. The rest is history as they say. I feel empowered and know how to REALLY defend myself if the situation calls for it. I will continue to train with Tyrus at Centex. AWESOME EXPERIENCE!!

I decided to go with a Gi membership and have had a great experience these past several months. The coaching staff is excellent and everyone is so friendly and helpful. It can be intimidating trying something new but Team Rabadi does a great job at making you feel welcomed and help you start your BJJ journey.

The Hutto location however really does everything in their power to make sure the baby is happy so that I can get as much time in the facility as possible. I had to move locations and I'm missing them…read more 24 hours is great, the gym is constantly being cleaned and maintained, the employees are all super nice and all the gym goers are very chill and strong. Great assortment of machines with plenty of space to move around. Good environment for filming your sets too. Tons of dumbbells, 2 smiths, 2 rowers, 1 erg, 1 versa climber, couple bikes, 2 assault bikes and a whole MMA half. Wish I could've stayed longer and I'll be back.
