They moved two cars for me at once cross-country, a new Corvette Z06 and an older "beater." I picked them on short notice-- the company I had arranged fell short-- because of the good reviews here. They came highly recommended by all the house movers in the SF Bay area we interviewed. Long story short, I was not disappointed by the service. Would recommend even for a Corvette!:) Only thing they could have done better (hence, 4 stars) is not raise the price 20% from the emailed quote to when we signed the contract. Their explanation was some kind of surge pricing due to Tesla booking a lot of their business. It amounted to $0.60/mile per car so it's still an ok price for open transport, as $1/mile is what I understand is the standard for a great closed carrier (e.g., Interstate) to transport a car. Details: I used open transport service and dropped off cars at Burlingame location. There, the cars were carefully inspected for existing damage. Cars were delivered a day later than the expected window due to unforeseen problems with another customer. Both cars were really clean, which was a huge positive surprise- i expected them to be bug ridden after such a distance, but the truck cab must have shielded them. read more

After the move, I discovered that one of the car remotes had become "uncoupled" from the car. I took it to the dealer and they said that even though my batteries weren't all out, they didn't have enough "juice" to perform all of its functions properly. I dropped my car off in Burlingame, CA on Monday, and my car was delivered to North Carolina the following Monday. They gave me a cab voucher to get to the airport. Only one small glitch as the driver who was to load my car began to drive away with my luggage and cats still in the car. The fact that he spoke very little english didn't help. Luckily I was paying attention! Otherwise, everything went well. The car was in perfect condition when I received it. I used All American to transport my 1957 Bel Air from Southern California to central California. Price was decent. They are all around the same lower to mid price range. I worked with Justin and Michael (Mike?) both were really informative about the process. I was a first timer using any car transport company. They were able to get someone to pick it up the next day and drop it off the same day. No extra charge. Looking for a car transport company was really stressful and overwhelming. I had a great experience with them and would wholeheartedly recommend them. They offered after hours drop off near the airport with free taxi service to nearby locations afterwards, and they stayed in constant contact with me throughout the process. Most importantly, my vehicles arrived undamaged and on time (in half the time some other transport companies were promising). My cars got a little dirty since I selected an open transport vehicle (cheaper than enclosed) and it was snowing in the part of the country they were driving to, but they reimbursed me for a free car wash! This was our first time ever using a vehicle transport carrier. We were very impressed with Hannah's professionalism, friendly demeanor, and professionalism. We had to make numerous phone calls since we were trying to coordinate this transport with a Uhaul truck and car carrier, not sure initially if we were going to transport one or two vehicles due to a shortage of car trailers from Uhaul. Long story short, Hannah was very informative about how we could handle our situation. When the day came to pick up the vehicle the driver, Alex, was also very professional and friendly and did a thorough job of preparing our vehicle for transport. It took approximately seven days to transport the vehicle from Oregon to Colorado, which is to be expected since they are delivering several cars to various locations throughout the nation. We were told we would get a call the day before arrival and also a call about and hour before the carrier would arrive to our location. He checked before he arrived that we live in a very congested area and would need to drop off our vehicle at a less congested location, which was understandable. We met him a couple of miles down the road at an agreed upon location. When we got there he was already there and taking the vehicle off the truck. We met Alex and he asked us to inspect the vehicle for any damage. Our vehicle arrived in great condition, no damage, not even an extra mile was added to the odometer when I took the mileage reading before he left with the vehicle. I signed off on the paperwork after the inspection and off we went with our vehicle. They did an excellent job and we would not hesitate to use them again. Thank you Hannah and Alex! read more

I used All American to move my Tesla S from Burlingame, CA to Austin, TX this summer. Chose them based on the positive Yelp reviews and it was worth it. They were very responsive and professional on the phone and through emails. Was $1100 to move it open carrier and it was dusty but with no damage. Got there in 3 days! Dropped off 2 blocks from my house in Central Austin. It can be anxiety provoking to find a company to move one's precious car, being that it's something you rarely ever do. This place is great! I needed to ship a car from California to Maryland in order to help out my family and I had never done this before. We called several different businesses all quoting a range from 1500 to 2000 with no ETA on delivery and sketchy customer service. All American was highly recommended to me by a smaller family Auto Transport company, who were booked out. They were amazing. My pickup date was only a week out, but they picked up the car within the given 3 day window in New York and delivered it to Colorado to my door only 3 days later. It was transported in a closed trailer, even though I had only paid for open transport. All American had assigned a personal service representative, Vanessa, who closely monitored the pickup, transport and delivery, and who I could reach directly on her cell phone. This is a vastly superior experience compared to a car transport broker I used before, who missed the agreed pickup date, every call went into a call center, and nobody knew when the car would be picked up. We have had 6 occasions to use a car hauler in the last 5 years. The first few I put a bid request out through some online service, got several bids, and did due diligence by researching the company we went with as best I could. The problem is, some of the companies have very little info on them available. I guess that should be a red flag, but live and learn. The first few moves were fine, cars picked up as promised, seemingly fair rates, and delivered as promised. The 4th one, however, they requested a deposit, took the money and became nearly impossible to contact again. About a week after I left the deposit, and days after they were to have picked up the vehicle, bad reviews started popping up on the internet from others who were on the same boat. Thank goodness for credit card protection. So, when it came time to move cars 5 and 6, from the bay area (CA) to MI and NY, I appreciated the rave reviews our moving service gave me for AATT in Burlingame. Their rates were not the lowest, but their weren't the highest either. That I felt I could trust them was huge. I also like that if you are flying out of SFO you can leave your vehicle at the lot in Burlingame on your way out, and they will get you to the airport. Nice touch. We took both options, had one car picked up by the hauler, and dropped the other off at their lot. As for reviews that were negative, I think you have to take all reviews with a grain of salt and a bit of thought. I don't believe AATT uses all their own guys, I think they must contract out to drivers in the circuit. If something goes wrong with a driver, they have to go by the info they get from the driver, and any reports that come from accidents. When things end up badly due to accidents or what have you, I am certain that they people at AATT take into account whether they want to use certain drivers again. AATT did right by us, we were happy with our service. read more

I recently had to move from California to the East Coast and contemplated driving my car or having it shipped. After using a website that gave me 7 different vendors, I thought I would look local and I found AATT. I'm glad I did. Although the total cost was a bit higher than the other auto shipping services/brokers, the convenience factor and the service level received from the team was worth the few extra dollars. With AATT, they were happy to answer any question I had (no matter how silly I felt) and I always ended up feeling assured about their services. On the day I needed to fly out of SFO, I arrived as planned and everything went smoothly. As a matter of fact, the driver who was going to take my car arrived when I was there (so AATT did a GREAT job with logistics) and I was even able to shake hands with the driver and ask him to take care of my baby. The team in the office was great (Justin and Marge deserve awards for their patience), the driver was great (called me 3 times in the last day of his transport to let me know he was 1 day, 3 hours, and 15 minutes away), and my car arrived a bit dusty but arrived much earlier than expected (6 days after I left it in California). This team is great, and I gave them a bit of feedback which they were very happy to take on board. A few suggestions to those thinking about shipping a car? 1) Plan as far in advance as possible. I think providing 3 weeks' notice to AATT made it it easier for them, and it also meant I got my car sooner on the other end of the route. 2) I saw reviews on people unhappy that the driver had gotten the car dirty, so I took it upon myself to get seat protectors and carpet protectors from the service department at my car dealer. It ended up being a non-issue with my particular driver, but it made me feel at ease. 3) Don't be afraid to ask questions. 4) The convenience alone (dropping it off when I wanted to, the free ride to the airport, the advance planning, keeping my car until the very last moment, and more) makes AATT a great choice! It was the only company I called - because Marge Wilson was so professional on the phone. The pick up time was exact. The delivery date was early- who could ask for more. John the driver who delivered my car said that many companies job the trip out on-line but that All American Trucking and Transport was with me from start to finish. It was the way to go! I recently worked with AAT&T to transport a vehicle from the Bay Area to NJ. The entire process from receiving a quote to delivery of the vehicle was seamless. Prior to finding AAT&T, I had spoken with many transport brokers who were unable to guarantee pick up dates or pricing which would have made the shipping process very difficult. I would recommend AAT&T and would definitely use them again. read more

In addition to the soaked owners manual in the wheel well of the trunk, I also noticed, over a few days post transport, one of my two shipped cars was running rough as though it had water in the fuel tank and its brakes were making a grating noise which is typical of cars left for long periods of time that develop rusted drums/rotors. Through some detective work with customer service rep Justin Baron, we jointly concluded these multiple problems were likely due to the vehicle being transported backward and encountering a rain storm early in the trip which allowed water that penetrated the vehicle at various points and then festered for probably a week during its some 2600 mile long trip. Cars are not designed to move backwards through rain storms at 70+ mph with the engine off. Justin did replace my owner's manual and offered to correct any long term problem that I might encounter with the brakes or water in the fuel tank, but I'm hoping these are temporary issues that will be resolved once the brake pads wear through the rust and fuel fill-ups dilute the water in the fuel tank. The bottom line is that I would strongly recommend you insist your car not be transported backwards on a transport. While it seems this problem likely only affects a few car models based upon their particular design ( drum brakes, rear facing lip on fuel door, flat rear trunk surface, tailpipe facing straight rear, etc.) and if a rainstorm is encountered early in a long haul transport, why take the risk? Water in the fuel and perhaps reaching the muffler or even catalytic converter through the tail pipe can potentially lead to expensive repairs. To his credit, Justin is looking into this issue and there may be changes in the company's shipment policies. Perhaps they might consider shrink wrapping the rear ends of vehicles being transported long distances or not transport backwards those vehicle models which have encountered problems being shipped that way. One thing is for certain, I will definitely specify my Ford Focus not ever again be shipped backwards. read more

Updating to reflect the care the Pres/CEO personally took to fix my experience using his trucking company. When my car was delivered, the trunk was full of water and I had several frustrating exchanges with a customer service agent who was not willing to accept that this was his company's responsibility. No preexisting issues occurred with my trunk, and none have occurred since we have had several rainstorms and hurricanes in Miami after my car was delivered. The cost to detail my trunk to remove the water was approximately $90, which seems a small calculation compared to the ~$1300 I paid to have my car delivered. Eventually I was reimbursed by the trucking company for the cost of the water repair, though I wish it had been less of a fight with the first person I dealt with and didn't have to escalate to their president. read more

I moved from Berkeley, CA to Washington D.C in June. As I've never shipped a car before, I was fairly nervous and started researching right away. I found a broker who I thought I could work with and started working with him an entire month in advance. For some reason, however, he wasn't able to find me a carrier, so the week before my move I cancelled my agreement with him and frantically searched for a carrier company. After calling Lucky Star Auto Transport, because it had great reviews on yelp, I was referred to All American Trucking because the driver from Lucky couldn't meet my schedule. When I called All American Trucking, I was helped by Krystal, who was fairly helpful in the beginning. Even though I had called a couple days before my hoped pick up date (I think I spoke with her on June 21st and wanted my car picked up asap on the 23rd or 24th as I was flying out 27th and wanted my car ASAP). She was able to find me a last spot on a carrier and said I could have my car picked up from Berkeley on the 24th which was a Saturday. She said that the driver should call me on Thursday and Saturday to set up a pick up time and location. She then asked me to give her a call if I didn't receive a call from the driver. Everything till this point was great. I'd honestly just give them the 5 stars if the problems that occurred after this didn't happen. I ended up not getting a call, so on Friday morning I called Krystal about 4-5 times. Everytime, the call went straight to voicemail and I didn't receive any calls despite my messages that I left. I called customer service to ask where she was or what was happening to my carrier, but each time they said they're working on it and would call me back. Obviously, they never called me back. At this point, I was worried sick that I wouldn't get my car picked up and the lack of calls from All American Trucking was worrisome. Saturday morning, I decided to call the customer service one more time and found out that all of this miscommunication was occurring because Krystal had written my phone number down incorrectly on my order sheet. Before I continue, I have to concede and admit that this is in part my fault for not reviewing the order form that Krystal emailed me carefully to catch this mistake. However, what I did not understand and am suspicious about is that she didn't pick up my phone calls ever or return my calls (even though someone at customer service told me she came into work on Friday). The new guy, Mike, who helped me out on Saturday told me that "everyone had basically bailed on me" because they couldn't reach me through the incorrect phone number that Krystal had put down. I don't understand why they couldn't just call me through the number I had called them through, since they have caller ID, and worked it out with me on Thursday/Friday. The "bailing" on a customer also seems pretty unprofessional and I wish that they had tried to be more intentional in reaching me, as I had called them 6-7 all throughout Friday to work this out. And the fact that Krystal wouldn't answer me makes me think that she was dodging me intentionally. After all that, I ended up driving my car over to their Burlingame headquarters to leave my car there and make my payments in person on Monday (July 26th). I want to note here that Krystal only started emailing me/acting like nothing happened, after I had worked with Mike and another person at their front desk on Monday. They offer a free cab ride to the nearest Bart station, which I thought was great. My car ended up getting picked up on Tuesday (June 27th) after I flew out and I received it the Wednesday after (July 5th). All the miscommunication I had earlier caused me to get my car later than I expected, but I do think All American Trucking was helpful and cooperative all throughout. I got my car at the location I requested and the car had no damages to it. Overall, this company was fairly accommodating to my schedule, but I do think they can work on their communications more. I hope the managers could have a word with Krystal about this as I feel that her dodging phone calls, mistyping my phone number on the order form and bailing on my order are unprofessional and require some attention. Other than that, I'd definitely recommend this company to anyone who is moving coast to coast and wants to ship their car! I'd use their services again for sure. read more

Just had my car shipped from California to Virginia. We dropped off our car on May 31 and were told the car would be on the truck on June 2 or 3 and we would receive on June 9. We did not receive our car until June 14. I started calling on June 9 and no one called me back. I had to keep calling and finally someone call me back on June 12 and said the driver would call me. Nope, driver did not call so I had to call back and driver finally called me late on June 13. When our car finally arrived I asked the truck driver about the delay. The driver said he did not pickup our car until June 7, 4 or 5 days after we were told the car would go on the truck. So our car sat there for 7 days while they took someone else's car on out truck. And to add insult to injury, the driver said the battery was dead when he picked up the car. We have a new battery in the car and whats clear is that All American Trucking (AAT) moved our car and left the lights on and did not even bother to take care of our car. BTW, if you read past reviews, others have had the same problem with dead batteries. Clearly, they don't car about your car. So clearly what happened here is that AAT bumped our car off the transport for another car. I called AAT and spoke to a manager who said she would research the issue as she could not understand what happened. She also offered to refund a very small token of the fees we paid. Of course we never received any partial refund and we never heard back from anyone at AAT. Consistent pattern here, they say one thing and don;'t follow through or honor their commitments. It seems they used to be good based on past ratings but now have fallen down, at least based on my experience. My sense, you are just another car to them, they don't do what they say, you can't reach them even though they tell you that you will have a person assigned to you...we could never reach her. My recommendation, pass and keep researching for better transport companies that do what they say.... read more
