I had a great experience at Movement Therapy. Overall, my physical therapy care was really good and I always felt supported during my sessions. Joshua was great and very professional throughout my treatment. Jocelyn is also very welcoming and always made the environment feel comfortable from the moment you walk in. Today was my last session and it truly stood out. Veronica Matta from Western University, who is currently doing her clinical rotations, worked with me one on one and by far it was the best session I had. Her hands on approach was exactly what I needed. The massage she did on the muscle that was causing my numbness made a huge difference and was very much needed. She was fully present, focused only on me, and genuinely committed to my care. It made me feel really good ending my therapy on such a positive note. The only reason I am giving four stars instead of five is due to the use of the TENS unit patches. I am not a germ phobic, but seeing the patches used on someone's foot and then placed on another patient made me feel uncomfortable. It has since been brought to my attention that when receiving physical therapy, each patient should have their own TENS unit patches to help avoid any contagious infections. Overall, I appreciate the care I received and would still recommend Movement Therapy, especially for the quality of the therapists and the personalized attention. read more

Unfortunately a recently sustained work injury forced me to seek physical therapy. My personal experience with physical therapists left me feeling like seeing them was somewhere between visiting the dentist or the principal's office at school. Not that I was a frequent visitor to the principal's office, mind you. I just heard a lot about it. Ahem. I opted for a location that was freeway close. I wanted to be able to get in and get the hell out afterwards as easily as possible. I chose Movement Remedy Physical Therapy. As I referenced my experience with physical therapists was akin to visiting a sadist. Someone who enjoyed torturing you, without giving a reason or a why a particular exercise is/was beneficial. I fondly remember telling another physical therapist that a particular exercise hurt - like mega hurt. He laughed and tried to do his best Arnold Schwarzenegger impression (he was governor at the time), "Aww, don't be a girlie mahn... puuuush." I swear he didn't know how close he came to getting... let me think about it for a second... uh... the word "up-ended" should be safe enough for Yelp. Nevertheless I approached my pending visit with an open mind and complete heavenly peace in my heart. Josh (one of the owners) gave me a call and we scheduled my appointment. Let me tell you I had all the anxiety of a cow being herded into you-know-where when I got there. But Josh was completely cool about the entire process. We talked about my current injury and any previous injuries and off we went. I thought this was great. Then I got Christie (the other owner) on my next visit. Let me tell you when she pauses, looks off in the distance for a moment, you're about to get some work in. The absolute best thing, between the both of them, there was never an exercise they had me do that there wasn't an explanation given for why I was doing it. Both explained the dynamics of the movement and what I should be feeling during the exercise. If there was discomfort or pain, we stopped and did something else. No fuss, no questioning of your toughness to do an exercise. Nothing. I cannot tell you, given my athletic background how appreciative I was of that. If you're looking for a personalized physical therapy center where you're not just an appointment check box, then go to Movement Remedy Physical Therapy. You'll get the treatment and care you need for the injury you have. You'll be with two great people and get the attention your injury requires. If I could have given them ten stars, I would've. Most ppl are skeptics when it comes to physical therapy. I was one of them since this was my second time treating/building strength on my injured body. My post surgery physical therapist was great and I really like and admire her but I just couldn't understand why my body was not able to handle some movements. When I mentioned to the doctor they switched me to new therapist hoping I can learn something new. After two months long searching I found them. I was treated by both Physical Therapist at this clinic, they not only listened but challenged me with each visit. Christine has so much energy it does not matter it was a 6pm session or Sat morning session. I still have a lot of fear the exercise might be too painful for me, but with the confidence the therapists teach me I think I'm going to be okay. Location easy to find, lots of parking spaces, very clean and open floor exercises area. This place is not your therapy mill, they don't setup exercise routine and you just have to show up and pretend you're exercising. Christine kept encouraging me holding on longer to build my balance and my core strength. I going to try to keep practicing and if or when my insurance company approves more sessions. I would like to show improvements or at least maintain mobilities. read more

On my first visit I went in for my ankle and knee injury. could barely manage stairs without excruciating pain. By my final visit, I was able to run up and down them with ease. Their approach to care went far beyond my physician's prescription. They took the time to truly understand the root causes of my injuries, strategized on how to manage and alleviate daily pain during recovery, and then meticulously strengthened and prepared me to safely return to my sports activities.
