Very nice theatre, I can't give it a full 5 stars because they charged me $4.50 of a cup of ice water.

I've never been to a theater that forces you to get a collector's cup that I don't even want. The guy behind the counter said it's been like that since COVID. Oh, so COVID told you to force people to buy the movie bucket, and if that's the case, you only get one refill. Definitely big scammers. Also, the theater was gross; it smelled like garbage, looked like they clean it once a day. The speakers in theater 7 sounded like they needed to be replaced. I won't be going there ever again. If you want a great theater with great customer service, go to Movieplex in Johnstown, $10 tickets. Also, Regal is a little pricier but much better than this crap.

The…read morechairs are comfortable and the spacing between them is nice you're not right on top of the chair next to you or the row In front of you! Concession was as expected and littered with different current movie swag to take home. There are always great promotions going on here and fun things like mystery movie nights and bringing back old classics to enjoy on the big screen! Def keep an eye on their rotation! Thanks for a great experience! :) Almost forgot: only critique is the drink carriers need improvement. Each carrier only holds two drinks and the handle is impossible to reach comfortably. It was super clunky to distribute in the theater too(glad I didn't drop any fumbling around) I was told you have to hold it from the bottom anyway because they're not to be trusted so i ended up just hugging the drinks anyway since i was carrying 4 plus popcorn haha.

Stop the Nonsense!!!…read more Let me start off by saying, the Theaters are completely empty. That means you (Regal) need ME, more than I need you! Been a year or so, since I went to the Theater for a movie. My nephew asked if I would take him to see Scary Movie today, and I figured it might be a nice afternoon out. So, I went online to purchase tickets. Two Adults = $40, just to see the show. And, it's going to cost me another $30 to get my nephew some popcorn and soda. That is $70 for two adults to go to the theater to see a FREAK'N MOVIE. Not a broadway show. A MOVIE !!! - that we can watch on TV in a few more months. Now, don't get me wrong. I get the math. I worked in a theater, in my late teens. I understand that theaters make very little money on the sale of tickets, which is why they have the need to charge $30 for $0.12 of food product. I Get THAT part. The icing on the cake is the $4 'convenience fee' to purchase your tickets online. Yes, please charge me to take my money. We can debated for days, about the 'convenience' and the cost to cover your web servers, etc. But STOP STOP STOP. Millions of outlets sell merchandise online and don't gouge us with convenience fees to do so. This is just another fee, in a world that has completely exhausted consumers with fees and tipping. IF $70 is in your budget, for two adults to go see a movie - hey, knock yourself out. Enjoy it. But with the current economy, this pricing is wack-a-doodle. I purchased two tickets, an hour before the movie. Including my two tickets, there are a total of 6 seats sold, one hour before the movie. If I were Regal, I would be in a panic, asking my entire executive team to come up with ways to fill those seats - rather than chase people away. But then again, I am not the CEO of an empty theater - so who am I to judge. I will go and enjoy the show today. Will NOT be back. Not EVER.

After being closed for eight months since April 20 24. I really enjoy going to this theater. The staff is helpful and friendly. Great that you can have a meal while watching a movie. I've tried the pizza and cheeseburger and french fries. Very good and reasonably priced. This is a great independent theater in the Pine Hills area of Albany. Please go out and support the Theatre. The owners are trying very hard and people need to come out in large enough numbers so the Theatre can break even financially make a small profit would be great as well. Then a few minutes after that another patron came back in after trying to get his money back to announce that the movie was not going to play at all. There was no manager or anyone at the theater that knew how to start the movie!!! The poor cashier was on the phone with someone directing him how to scramble for money to give people cash back. I think they even used the bar tips. Incredible. It was obvious that there were only catering to the bar crowd that were doing a trivia night in the lobby. Don't waste your time and money with this place.

I am a frequent flyer to Proctors, so I need to update my old review…read more Proctors is my favorite theatre in the area. I love the location, abundant free parking, plenty of fabulous restaurants within a block or two, easy in and easy out every time. I know if I have tickets to a show at proctors, it's going to be a great evening. I average about 4 shows a year if I can. I love the selection of musicals and plays they host. There is truly nothing like live entertainment. The reason why this is my favorite theatre in the area is the general etiquette of the crowd. Once a show is on, the crowd is quiet, most stay seated until intermission, there are no concessions while the show is going, the ushers do their job to control people coming in and out during the performance. The theatre is gorgeous and you are truly able to enjoy the show in this environment. I really love it here. Service is always amazing as well. Everyone working here is always so friendly and helpful. It's just such a good vibe. Could the seats be more comfy? Yes, but that's literally every theatre. I would love a cup holder too, but that's life. My only grief is that I can't afford more tickets to go to more shows. I love Proctors, and you will too.

To make clear, the theaters are dirty and littered with trash. Similarly, most of the theaters smell like weed now. Furthermore, the seats are outdated. To explain, the seats are stained, don't recline, and are stiff as a board. However, the worst part about this theater is definitely the clientele. To breakdown, every time I come here I can't even enjoy the movie. People yell, use their phones, and smoke weed during the movies. For some reason, the employees don't do anything about it. On the flip side, there are some positives to this theater. For example, the theaters are huge and have plenty of seats. Also, they play a lot of Bollywood and independent films that you can't see anywhere else. All told, Regal Crossgates is a shell of its former self due to uncleanliness and outdated seats.

As I was heading home, I passed the theater and saw on the marquee Mad Max was starting in ten minutes. Not the new Mad Max mind you, the original. Movies are meant to be seen on the big screen. Some are fine at home, but I don't have a man cave and I don't turn the sound up loud. Going into a theater is an immersive experience and really helps you to focus on the picture. Amazingly, even on a Saturday night, including myself there were only three people in the audience. And for a moment there I thought I was going to have a private showing. Part of that may be that despite the sign suggesting a 9:30 start time, the box office looked closed. And when I tried to suggest to the lady behind the concession stand that I'd like to see a movie, she didn't quite seem prepared to sell me a ticket. And when I asked where to head from there, she had to once again leave to find out. It was really quite odd. Also odd were the ratting and banging noises coming from the air conditioning grates in the ceiling of theater four. Once the action picked up, it wasn't quite as distracting as I had feared, but I hope they get it fixed. Much like I hope they get the theater cleanliness fixed. Because there was an empty soda can in the arm rest left over from a prior showing. Like I said, none of these things will prevent me from going back. I love seeing older movies on the big screen. But it could explain why the place wasn't more busy. I'll look forward to awarding this theater a fifth star as it grows and becomes a vital part of the community.
