After I attempted to go to a competitor who claimed on their website that they matched competitors prices, but didn't (see my other reviews), I came here. I'd seen an ad on this location's website that would make a smog check $33 out the door (including certificate). When I arrived, no other customers were there, so I was helped right away. The gentleman confirmed that my vehicle and my required DMV smog test qualified for the pricing, and he had me start filling out the paperwork, with the $33 estimate. While I waited, I started to write my review for the other place I'd visited first, but didn't even have time to finish before my car was done. I got my smog certificate, paid my $33, and I was off to get on with the rest of my Sunday. The man was so incredibly nice, giving me several compliments about my car, and he even called me a little bit after I'd left to tell me I had left my water bottle in his waiting room (I'm on my 3rd camelbak folks because of me forgetting them places, and this is why I'm not on my way to buy my 4th!). I wish I'd just come here to begin with, but hopefully my experience will help others to not make my same mistake! read more

4 stars because it was the cheapest smog in Fremont at this time for my test-only directed '98 subaru. There was a coupon on the pennysaver website for $24.75 + $8.25cert = $33 out the door. All the other places advertising something similar charged $10 extra for a test-only directed car which is a rip-off since its the same test. Don't let anyone fool you, any mechanic with minimal skills can smog and all smogs have to be done the same so just go where ever is the cheapest. Minus one star since the supposedly independent test-only smog tech was clearly affiliated with the shop next door (talked to the mechanics twice and another customer of that shop during my smog). But hey, we all have to make ends meet. read more

BEWARE!!!! My car (a 4 banger) didn't pass!! He still charged me and pointed to a hand written sign in the corner of a tiny office that he doesn't even work out of until hes ringing you up and points to it. There are a ton of places that will offer you a pass or don't pay. I haven't yet taken it to a new place but once it passed I will be disputing my credit card bill. PS... Will suggest you to pick a place that is free for retest. That way you will have choice to decide if you really have to buy the item he force you to buy. I am not sure if 310 Mowry ave and 300 Mowry ave Fremont 94536 are same company. The ad's was from 300 but they point me to 310 for smog test. I just finished my smog test this afternoon. Very good experience. I brought the printed coupon and my registration notice. $33 out of the door. Paid with a debit card. No extra charge. I went in today for star smog check and was out in less than 10 minutes. I politely asked for a discount over the price he quoted me over the phone and he gave me an instant 10% discount. the place is little hard to find. From mowry, you have to take a turn into the complex and drive for about 50 yards to reach his store. read more

These people screwed us! I came in for a test and said the check engine light was on. They did the test, took my money and then said they can't pass the car with the check engine light on. They said I need to come back and pay all over again! I told them about the check engine light before the test and they knew they couldn't pass it, but they wanted to take my money anyway! Don't use these guys. Find another place. These people will take your money and leave you out to dry. read more
