I eat at Mozz at least 5 times a month. Every time i do, it is like the very first time. The flavors, the atmosphere, the decor, the friendly and enthusiastic staff. It seems to me anyway, that the overall experience improves beyond any expectation i had going in, that it seems brand new each time. Ive tried almost all the pizzas, and both sandwiches (that ham and cheese...my goodness). With every restaurant, i think of ways to improve the food or the experience. Mozz is seriously so good. I feel confident in saying this because I have tried literally everything on the menu. There's nothing 'bad' that they make, but I am super partial to The White Pizza. (It's so fresh and the lemon zest really puts it over the top.) The oven-fired pizza is my favorite style of pizza because of the little bit of char you get on the crust without the entire thing tasting burnt. The employees clearly know the balance and cook the pizzas really well! The salads are the bomb, and I'm not someone who orders salads often. The caesar is easily the best caesar I've ever had. If you want something sweet, ask if they have any cake or cookies; you won't be disappointed with any of them. The sodas are so unique, and I think that it is really cool that they are locally sourced and are so fresh. My favorite is the root beer, but I also love the lemon/lime/lavender. They are the type of local business you want to support because they locally source literally almost everything they use. (They make their own freaking cheese too!) If you're looking for a artsy atmosphere filled with high end artisan pizza. This is your place. Each pizza is about 12inches. We ordered the serrano honey, italian sausage amd mushroom, and white pizza because I don't like red sauce. Call me weird but white sauce or BBQ or pesto is amazing on pizza. We also got the taproot soda taster. Theae sodas are infused with herbs and give a refreshing taste in addition to the bubbles/carbonation. Out of the 3 pizzas the serrano honey was the best. **UPDATE: This 5-star review remains, but MOZZ is truly the best! My wife and I have been back several times, and we've fallen into the curse of the delicious restaurant. The curse is that we loved the first thing we tried so much (white pizza) that we haven't tried much else (the young woman taking our order gave us some suggestions for our next visit). Seriously everyone, these pizzas have fallen straight from mozzarella and ricotta heaven. The crust texture is exactly what I want, a nice crisp outer bite but soft dough on the inside. On our way out of the restaurant after a Saturday night dinner, the owner called my wife and me back to try a freshly baked chocolate chip cookie on the house. Forget Chip and Crumbl (seriously this isn't an exaggeration), MOZZ makes the best cookie. As someone who often searches and fails to find the perfect chocolate chip cookie, this was a revelation. My wife and I ate the cookie on the way to our dessert at Rockwell. We had our ice cream, and then we decided we had to go back to get another cookie. Don't judge, we had no choice. It was destiny. Unfortunately, they were out of cookies by the time we got back, but I was convinced to buy a slice of the chocolate cake with a browned butter buttercream frosting. 10/10. After just saying the name of the dessert you'd expect it to be a sugar bomb, and that's generally my problem with cake. Not the case. They nailed two perfect desserts. I've read some previous reviews in which people complained about having to get their own cutlery and napkins. I'm not sure how I felt about that when they were only a few feet from where I ordered. Mostly I felt bad for the great, attentive server/order taker that came to our table to bring us cutlery, cups, and water when we could have easily retrieved it ourselves. On that note, just know that some of us are okay getting our own silverware, napkins, and water. As a final note, it's very refreshing to have more option in downtown Provo. Very cute and delicious pizza place on University Ave. Great quality pizza. We went on a Monday night and it wasn't crowded. We walked right up and ordered and our food came out pretty quickly! The White Pizza was the star of the show. I would definitely come back just for that. The crust is pretty thin but very good. The garlic bread was delicious. It came out piping hot with delicious marinara sauce. It was soft but had good bite to it as well. I also loved the Mediterranean salad! Usually salads are bleh but I couldn't stop eating this one. This is the perfect little date spot in Provo if you like pizza, and tbh, if you don't like pizza, then people shouldn't trust you. MOZZ has really delicious pizza. I went with 5 friends to get a break from studying. On some of their pizzas everything was locally sourced from the farmer's market that had taken place that same day. I will say that the mozzarella was good, so the restaurant is aptly named. But I came for a whole pizza and not just the cheese. Besides the lack of flavor in the Italian sausage and the lack of mushrooms on my Italian Sausage and Mushroom pizza, my 2nd biggest beef with my first experience here was the tomato sauce. I swear to Jeebus that it is just watered down tomato sauce from a can. Or a borderline Spaghetti-O's sauce. Either way, they do not make their own tomato sauce. My Ninja Turtle action figures cried when I told them all about it when I got home. My BIGGEST beef was that I paid $13 plus tax for the whole experience. My accountant cried when I told him that one. The two stars is for the mozzarella, but their focus should definitely be shifted, so they should definitely consider changing their name to PIZZA. UPDATED FOR OWNER RESPONSE: Some of what you said is true, A: Yes, the pizza was just 'fine', but for $13 the pizza should be much better than just 'fine'. B: No, I did not eat everything on my plate. If you check your security cameras again you will see that I left a few charred pieces of crust on my plate. I didn't want to hurt your feelings too bad, so I wasn't going to mention it. I've noticed that other people have complained about the same things; the terrible tomato sauce, the burnt crust and soggy middle (I left that one out too). I didn't know you were in the business of making sub-par pizza and waiting for people to request a refund. I will say that your shoulda-coulda-woulda response did not win me back. I was really impressed with Mozz. We got the Serrano Honey and the White Pizza. The Serrano Honey was delicious and had a good sweetness with a good kick of spice as well. The White was my favorite, a really delicious and unique flavor, the cheese really stood out, it was fresh and delicious. I was impressed how quick the food came out, we got our salad moments after sitting down and the pizza came shortly after. The crust on the pizza was a thin crust style, but surprisingly didn't get soggy at all! Very impressed! They don't have traditional soda which is a bummer, they have homemade style root beer and cola, wish they had Pepsi or Coke Products as well. Everyone we were with wanted a regular coke with their meal. All around had a great experience here. Every little detail down to the sink handles in the bath room. I was also obsessed with the gallery in the back that displays local Artist work. What an awesome way to support your community! Erin warmly greeted us at the cash register with a smile. I explained my gluten allergy and hesitation to try a pizza. After chatting with her and learning their process for the GF Crust. I went with the Cauliflower crust (because it is like one of thee only things not made in house). I started to feel super comfortable after the Chef told me how they would keep my pizza away from the flour and she proceeded to dust of the work space, etc. All my anxiety of going out to eat was melting away. The prices for the pizzas were super affordable (especially since ingredients are local). I could not find anything comparable to price and taste back home in California. We ordered a flight of sodas. The lemonade lavender and strawberry fields were my favorite. My Suprema pizza came out looking like a regular fluffy and delicious pizza! Not like the frozen cauliflower crust I'm used to back home. I took one bite and had to make sure with Erin that it was Gluten free. It tasted too good!! She assured me it was and I was hooked! I even had left overs the pizza was so big! The next day I left to go back home to California. I took my Mozz left overs to the airport for breakfast! I couldn't part with them. Thin, bubbly crust pizza is pretty much my jam, so I really liked this place. We ordered the white pizza and the soppressata. The crust was perfectly crispy on the outside of both pizzas and light and fluffy on the inside, which is how I like it. I liked how cheesy, yet fresh the white pizza was with the hint of lemon and the bitterness of the arugula. I will definitely order that one again. The soppressata I would compare to a pepperoni pizza, but with slightly saltier meat. I really liked the simplicity of the soppressata, because it really allowed you to focus on the quality of the charred, yet light crust, and the freshness of the ricotta and the mozzarellla. I love that this place uses locally sourced ingredients as well. We ordered the soda flight, but I didn't LOVE it. We got the blackberry mint, kraft cola, and lemon lime lavender. I wanted them all to have a little more sweetness, so I'll probably just have water next time. Overall I really liked this place. My hubby and I really enjoyed this place!! They have a great variety of pizzas that are creative and well balanced!! We love the honey Serrano pizza! It's spicy and sweet and salty, with an amazing sourdough crust. The sodas are also amazing and unique! We recommend getting the soda flight if they still have it!! Mozz Pizza is hands down are favorite pizza place to visit in Utah County. It may be our favorite in Utah in general. The White pizza is our favorite--something about that lemon zest. I also love that not only is it locally owned, they source the large majority of their ingredients from Utah farmers. We got it during quarantine, so maybe we need to give it another try, but the pizza was just okay. Midici's is better to me personally because it just tastes fresher. It is stone fried pizza which I love and the crust was cooked very well, but it just felt kinda thin and like it had been sitting (again probably not fresh)? The crust was not as soft as it should have been. Felt very dense to chew on which threw off the pizza overall.
