We needed to buy a white shirt that was near our hotel in downtown Cleveland. Yelp led us to Mr. Alberts. It turns out it is an institution of sorts. It's been in business since the 70's. Some of the merchandise looks like it's from that decade. Lots of animal prints, fake fur, studs, gold. Yes for THE MAN! Only for a certain kind of man...FLASHY. Ones with Swag. ;-) Nothing subtle here. Except white shirt that cost $50! it ain't cheap. Gotta pay the rent. read more

I recently visited the store with my father as an adult and it brought back great memories. This store is for men who like to wear a two piece matching set, flashy leather hard bottom shoes, and vivid color sweaters. Also, you can get all the accessories to match such as belts and hats. The vibe is always upbeat. The staff make the men feel special and catered to. I like looking at the photos of celebrity clients posted on the wall. The store is located in the heart of other great businesses that are in walking distance. There are several garages near the store. I would very much like to thank Mr. Alberts Men's World for coming to our rescue on our daughters wedding day this past Saturday! We were staying at Aloft hotel where the ceremony & reception took place. My husband was getting dressed and we realized we had the wrong style tuxedo shirt. It was for a bow tie with no collar. It looked horrible with I neck tie. My husband searched and found this store online. They had the exact tux shirt he needed, in his size and they delivered it to the hotel within 20 minutes. It arrived just in time for him to have his FOB pictures. Unfortunately its very difficult to find businesses with great customer service these days and a blessing when you do. We are very thankful. high stylin' footwear velour tracksuit headquarters and chalk stripe zoot suits! Mr. Alberts is one of Cleveland's older urban menswear shops. A retail survivor in downtown's dearth of shopping, Mr. Alberts carries on. Years ago, Prospect was a colorful but seedy street that bustled with people, independent retailers and a few diners. Now the street has been sanitized with new sidewalks and vacant storefronts. Not too many small businesses survived the re-do, but there are a few such as Mike The Hatter, Volk's Jewelers and Pawn, and a smattering here and there. It is a bit strange walking down a downtown street completely void of people midday, but hopefully, this too shall change. In the mean time, I was in the market for one of my guilty pleasures. As an aside, Prospect used to be the premier Cleveland red light district, however, that was not the type of "guilty pleasure" I was searching for. My current guilty pleasure is wearing velour jogging suits around my apartment during the colder months. Yeah, I'm getting old... but I don't wear bling with them, so its OK for an old white guy -right? After searching local retail and the internets, these fashionable menswear staples were either non existent, or priced way too high. Two bills for a velour track suit? Really? Mr. Albert to the rescue! I bought a fine black velour tracksuit for $79.99. And imagine my surprise to find that it was fully lined. The pants are a good 6" too long, but Mr. Albert does alterations as well. Best part, it was an old school shopping experience where someone actually took care of you, showed you various pieces in your size, was courteous, professional and genuine. You don't get a fully lined velour formal tracksuit carefully hung on a hanger and bagged upon purchase at Champs or Amazon. I'll be back for the shoes. Carry on. read more

I visited Cleveland last weekend i arrived there Friday from New York a friend of mine shops there and he took me when we got there the first thing that caught my eyes was the photos of the starts that brought there clothes from there i saw photos of Otis Williams of the Temptations,Comedian Sommore,Eddie Levert of the O'Jays from Cleveland and a picture of the late Gerald Levert who shopped there.But i was mostly amazed by the different styles of clothing's,shoes and accessories and the staff were very friendly and knowledgeable. read more

You don't find many stores like this anymore. Huge selection of very cool clothes, hats, and shoes. Lots of business wear and tons of more stylish, snappier suits. Prices are good. Customer service is great. I got help with my sizes, finding the right suit, expert advice. Then, to top it off, because I was only in town for a night, they did the alterations that night & called me for pick up. Less than 2 1/2 hours after I got the suit. Can't recommend highly enough.
