The best take out Asian food. Always hot, tasty and a good value. Excellent value and service.

The first time I ordered takeout from here I thought the food was gross. Maybe we just got them on an off night, or maybe we just ordered the wrong things? I decided to give this place another try and I'm glad I did! I first tried their lunch buffet, which was very decent despite being on the smaller side. But I'll take quality over quantity any day. We have since ordered takeout a few times, and have not been disappointed. We usually get the General Tso, and you can ask them to make it extra crispy and spicy and they will! Their crab wontons and hot and sour soup are also very good. My only complaints now about this place is: 1. The place could use a good cleaning....the air vents on the ceiling look disgusting. 2. Their egg rolls need serious work though....just not very good. We like a particular brand of frozen egg rolls much better than Mr. Chen's. read more

We always get take out and have never been disappointed. Cooked fresh when you order and how you want it. Lots of food we always have enough left for lunch the next day. Friendly and quick it's always 10 minutes. We love the Singapore Rice Noodle and the steamed dumplings are amazing. I have not had a bad meal from this place and we go at least once a week for years. We also like the General Tso chicken, hot and sour soup egg rolls and fried won tons. Yummy. Nice and clean inside. I've never tried the lunch buffet but it is available. read more

I have never eaten inside the restaurant,we always get it to go. We have eaten many many meals from here and have never had a bad one. Always fresh and steamy hot. We love the Singapore rice noodle, General Tso Chicken, fried dumplings, egg rolls,hot and sour soup. On and on its all good. Packed up great in generous portions usually enough for lunch the next day. Very friendly and fast always in ten minutes. Give it a try you won't be sorry. Prices are very good. read more

One thing I miss after moving back to California is Mr. Chen's. Service is fast, friendly and food is excellent!!! Trust me, I have tried Chinese food from L.A. to Chicago, and this quaint corner restaurant all tucked away beats larger Chinese eateries I have been to....sorry Sam Woo. This place makes KILLER General Tso's Chicken. It is sweet and crunchy and just the right amount of sauce. Oh, and their House-Special Fried Rice. Picture this, wok-seasoned rice, roast pork, chicken and shrimp all mingled together, partying in all that yummy rice! Another favorite is their handmade pillowy-soft ,steamed dumplings. It is filled with delicious meat and we dip it in sweet n sour sauce - uncommon, but it's delish!!!! Portions are huge and price you can't beat. Mr Chens Kitchen is a hidden gem in Hernando. This very clean, comfortable restaurant is run by a very courteous, friendly and knowledgable staff. It is owned and operated by people born in China that have moved to Mississippi. The food is prepared perfectly and they will make any change that you would like (spicy, healthy, salt free...). The Hot & Sour soup was delicious. The shrimp fried rice, eggroll, orange chicken, Szechuan Tofu with vegetables and General Tso's chicken were cooked to perfection. Several people ate at the robust buffet, and were overwhelmed by the selections and the quality of the many dishes. The buffet was constantly refreshed with fresh food. At Mr Chens Kitchen they didn't let the food on the buffet sit our very long. The serving sizes is very big and the quality is 5 Start. Prices were excellent and they offered various lunch discounts as well as senior citizen pricing. Go to Mr Chens Kitchen hungry, and leave satiated, satisfied and happy!!! Mr Chen's Kitchen is almost certainly the best Chinese food in Hernando. They offer a wide variety of traditional dishes for dining in or take-out. They also offer a lunch buffet. I'm particulary pleased with their Singapore Noodles, a spicy dish with shrimp, pork and eggs, as well as a variety of vegetables stir fried with rice noodles and coated with a yellow curry. My wife raves over the Moo Shu Pork. She's also pleased that they don't add MSG to their dishes. We eat here regularly, and recommend it. read more
