Full Irish Breakfast
Vahe A.

Nice spot to grab brunch. We stoped here halfway through exploring the Freedom Trail. Had the Full Irish Breakfast, very similar to the English Breakfast, which I am a fan of. Paired with Irish Breakfast tea it was great. Well worth the money. I just wish the beans were warm but they were cold, is that an Irish thing?

Pro Tip: Have $5 cash on hand for cover and show up sooner, rather than later. Will need to revisit during hours that aren't appealing for drunk 21+ year olds. Guinness pours are optimal, very comparable to that of Ireland. Incredibly better taste than pours in different cities. The Locals (band) put on a great show!

Pay attention to Sully's Sleigh and Kenny's Old Fashion.

I have frequented Mr. Dooley's for years. The regular customers are welcoming to weary traveler's like me. The Staff: Always friendly and attentive. They just make this spot shine and create the long-time following. The drinks are huge and cold. You get your money's worth with the food. Great quality and large portions. But it is the quiet details. They honor their fallen patrons with a simple, but meaningful, quiet tribute at the end of the bar. Wait! There's more. Look at the drink menu. The Sully. Made a small request, vodka should be Grey Goose. They loved the suggestion. Now about Kenny's Old Fashion: They get it. Very few bartenders are aware of Horse Soldier's history. Every veteran should have a bottle. I continue to be impressed with a place that provides value and reflects it's appreciation.

When we visit Boston, we always stop in at Mr Dooley's. I like dive bars and this is a great Irish Pub. They pour a proper pint of Guinness! Little know fact there serve more Guinness than anyone else in the states!! Cheers to That! I got the Chowder first, it was very good. Then the fish and chips, wow! Huge pieces of fish! Also very good! Stick around at night for some good live music! Those that live here know about this place, if you are visiting check out an authentic IRISH Pub! Cheers!

An awesome classic Irish pub and 100% worth checking out. This spot was great, the live violin was amazing, and the staff were as friendly as ever. And they serve a proper Kilkenny Cream Ale that was amazing!!

Just reviewing the Guinness here: A nice pint of Guinness that looked good and tasted right. Not to mention that the bar lady was very kind and seemed like a load of fun. The Guinness had a good head and good temperature. Definitely tasted good but still lacking something compared to the pints in Ireland. Will be back for another while I'm in Boston for sure!

Great Irish bar with above average bar food, great staff & live music. We love stopping in when visiting the great city of Boston. This visit we had the steak tips with Guinness Stout, delicious & highly recommend with a Guinness on the side.

Great music. Amazing well poured-int of Guinness and sample set of chicken pot pie, beef stew, shepherds pie. All yummy and fun. The vibe is great and noticeable difference in business once 9 pm hit. Fun spot that is worth the stop.

Perhaps the best Guinness in Boston. Not just according to me but according to many, including many visiting Irish gents and ladies. A classic Irish pub with a classic Irish pub menu. I have enjoyed many a pint here and many good meals. Today I had the Shepherds pie. It was flavorful but a bit dry. I did like the Irish brown bread that was served along side. Two at our table had the eggs Benedict and weren't very happy with them...too dry and not much flavor. The atmosphere was good- very friendly service. There weren't many people in the restaurant and the server made the rounds several times but we kept having to flag her down. It was kinda like she was making the rounds to make the rounds not check in on anyone. Slightly odd. Overall a great stop if you are looking for a legit Irish bar in Boston.

We loved the food, the drinks and the vibe! What a fun place! As we ate, we watched the locals coming in after work.... A loud happy crowd!

The food was ehhh. The atmosphere is ****ING outstanding and I'd definitely come here for a drink and apps, but the food is purely mediocre.

Best pint of Guinness I've had in forever. The curried chips (fries) were pretty damn good too. Service friendly and efficient.

Thinking that this would be our last meal of the day, we over ordered: Irish grill and Irish sampler.

It's homely, welcoming, and I feel included. Last went here during the Red Bull Heavy Metal event that was happening at City Hall. Place was packed. We had the best Irish coffees and were able to get a table despite the crowd. I love the attention to detail this place puts regarding its decorative wood around the bar, the lighting, life music, and more. Great place to have a drink. Yes, I think the food could improve a bit - maybe some nice club sandwiches or vary the food offerings, but overall love this place.

We were a table of 7, and unfortunately the service really fell short. After our initial drinks and…read morefood order, we barely saw our server again. We kept trying to make eye contact, but it didn't work~eventually we had to wave someone down. Even then, the response from the bar felt like it was an inconvenience just to send our server over. That said, the food was mostly good. The bangers & mash and the burger were spot on. However, the "Taste of Ireland" pies were disappointing~2 in particular missed the mark. The shepherd's pie had no mince (just potatoes and peas), & the Guinness pie was more like a beef stew than a proper pie. Overall, some strong dishes, but the service and a few key items would make me hesitate to return.
