Awesome elevated comfort food menu…read more I was scrolling through my pictures from my trip to Indy and I saw a photo of a menu. Upon closer inspection, it hit me that I took the pic because I wanted to explicitly call out its awesomeness in this review. It is chalk full of dishes that sound like they came out of my dreams. Here are a couple noteworthy examples: 5280 PB & J - ok, this one didn't come out of my dreams, because I don't eat pork, but literally, if I discovered this two years ago before I went semi-kosher, I would be all over it. Roast pork loin, pepper bacon, fig & plum jam on a pretzel bun?! Yes, I did just rewrite the menu for you, but it should be shared with the world. Mr. Potato Head and Cheese - I once wrote has there ever been a match made in heaven that beats truffle and French fries? The answer is now yes, truffles and tater tots. This dish also includes grated parmesan and chopped garlic. Every other dish sounds as good as these, but I'm going to have to let you read the menu yourself. We ended up getting 4 Real Kettle Chips. I was not hungry. I had a ginormous omelet for lunch and I was still having problems buttoning my pants. Yet, once I saw these gorgeous kettle chips, I had to try some. And by some I mean I ate way more than my fair share (I wasn't even the person who bought them). They are generously topped with parmesan and at $4 its an absolute steal. Everything else on the menu is between $7 and $10, which is such a great deal for the quality of this food. We ran into the food truck outside Bier Brewery. Since this was the first brewery we stopped at during our Indy Brew Bus tour, I'm confident in saying I was still sober enough to truly appreciate the food. The owner of the bus is super friendly. I could tell he cared about providing great dishes. This continues my theme of reviews where I'm basically commanding everyone to support local! If you run into this food truck, you won't regret ordering a meal.

The braised meat was better than I expected because I am not a big fan of the braised flavor. The chips were crispy.

Smokey Blue, as you can probably guess, is a BBQ food truck with a menu that includes sandwiches (chicken, brisket, hot honey chicken, and pulled pork. The BBQ is Texas Style. They also offer So-Cal Burritos (I don't recall these being on the menu today, though I'll also admit I wasn't looking for them). Each sandwich offers a side and I also received a slice of corn bread. I ordered the chicken sandwich with fries. The chicken comes with either regular or spicy sauce. I opted for regular, however, in the future would probably go for spicy. Because of a work meeting during lunch, I hit the market early during the 10:30am-1:30pm hours. This isn't my favorite thing to do as trucks are typically still getting set up and meals can feel either rushed or incomplete. This was kind of true here as fries were not yet ready and with several people waiting it seemed a bit rushed. The nicely seasoned fries were good, however, they stuck together a bit. The people are very friendly here. There's an obvious desire to connect with customers. It also appears to be faith-based/inspired as there's a Scripture on the food truck. Smokey Blue also offers loaded fries, loaded mac, wings, and pork nachos. Like most food trucks, I do think some of the items are sporadically available. You can also get bottled water and soft drinks in can (Coke Products). I did also see one dessert on the menu - Smoked Apples with Brown Sugar, drizzled with Dulce de Leche and a delightful crumble on top on top of our own Vanilla Bean Ice Cream. I did not see them today, however, I'll likely try them in the future. I have a feeling this was somewhat hindered by my arriving early. This was a very solid 4-star, however, I can't quite get myself to go 5-star. Service was great, food was good, and prices were consistent with most food trucks. I will definitely return, however, I'll likely wait for them to get a bit more settled and not try to do lunch at 10:45am. Smokey Blue also offers catering and will appear at special events. Lots to love here - I look forward to returning in the future and hopefully forking over that fifth star!

Earl B's food truck was posted up at the Jupiter Flights Balloon Festival at Conner Prairie, and as…read moresoon as I saw them, I knew I would be partaking. They were an oasis of "something different" in a sea of "pretty much the same" food, like hot dogs and pretzels. (Though, no shade to those foods. It's just sometimes, you want something different, you know?) So when you're looking for something different, and you see Earl B's at a festival or event, this is the truck to visit. Earl B's was serving bao when we saw them: a yeasted, steamed bun that, according to my youngest child, has the texture of a marshmallow. (And it really does! This kid is going places in the food world, I just know it.) The bao at Earl B's are filled with your choice of chicken, brisket or pulled pork. We got the Earl B's Sampler, which came with three bao -- chicken, pork and brisket -- filled with toppings like mango salsa, pickled red onions and purple cabbage. The Sampler also comes with fries. These were delicious! I really liked the chicken bao, which had a nice kick to it from the salsa verde. We also got the loaded fries with pork, which were topped with cheese, pico de gallo, sour cream, barbecue sauce and jalapenos. Amazing, amazing loaded fries! I especially liked when I got to the bottom, where there were crunchy bits of fries still awaiting me. Sometimes, with loaded fries, they can get too bogged down with toppings and get soggy. Not so with the loaded fries from Earl B's. They portioned the toppings just right. Earl B's had bao available when we visited, but it looks like their menu changes, and they also sometimes serve sandwiches. But they are always serving barbecued meat. What they offer probably depends on the location, so you should probably check their website or social media to see where they will be and what they will be serving.

Absolutely Exceptional!…read more Every year, our team gathers at one of our Noblesville locations for a meeting that sets the tone for the upcoming year. It is our kickoff event, filled with presentations, reflections on the past year, well-deserved recognition, and plans for the future. With an event this significant, catering plays a vital role in creating a memorable experience. This year, after careful research, we chose Earl B's Catering, and I could not be happier with our decision. What made Michael's service even more extraordinary was that our meeting was held on New Year's Day, and he still managed to deliver exceptional catering on such a busy and significant holiday. From the start, communication was seamless, professional, and friendly. The prices were extremely reasonable, and the quality of the food was truly outstanding, better than we could have hoped for. Michael arrived promptly, set up a beautiful buffet for 35 people in no time, and thought of every detail to make our event effortless. He provided drinks, cups, sauces, high-quality utensils for serving and eating, sturdy plates, and everything else we needed. His setup made it easy for us to focus on enjoying the food and the company, knowing everything was taken care of. Now, the food. Let me tell you, it was unforgettable. We had brisket, pulled pork, chicken, mac and cheese, baked beans, green beans, and buns for sandwiches. Every single dish was served hot, perfectly seasoned, and absolutely mouthwatering. The brisket was tender, the pulled pork was flavorful, and the chicken was juicy, each one a hit with our group. The sides were just as impressive, adding the perfect complement to the main dishes. Every single one of our attendees raved about the food, and seeing their satisfaction brought me so much joy. The positive energy carried through the rest of our meeting, and I truly believe the amazing catering was a big part of that. I wholeheartedly recommend Earl B's Catering for any event. The combination of honest pricing, exceptional service, and superior taste is unmatched. Supporting a business owned by a veteran and firefighter made it all the more special. Michael delivered above and beyond expectations, and we are already looking forward to our next opportunity to work with him. Thank you, Michael and Earl B's Catering, for making our New Year's Day meeting not just a success, but an experience to remember.
