There was a lot of food for the price, and the ribs had plenty of meat on them. The fries were solid, and while the mac and cheese wasn't my favorite and reminded me a bit of cafeteria mac and cheese, I still left full and had leftovers to take home. The food was ready surprisingly fast, probably within 7 to 10 minutes. The staff was friendly throughout the visit and did a great job checking in on us, clearing trays, and making sure everything was going well. As for the atmosphere, I can appreciate the theme they were going for, even if it's not quite my style. The dining room is pretty dark, and the dark murals make it feel even darker. That said, the food and service easily made up for it. Overall, it was a really good experience and a place I'd happily visit again.

Hubby and I ordered a meal for two and it came with your choice of 2 meats plus ribs, and 2 sides along with bread rolls, and pickled veggies. We decided on the pulled chicken, brisket, ribs, with sides of Mac n cheese and bbq beans. Everything was delicious and very filling. Kinda sad that I didn't get to order dessert as we decided too late and didn't want to get back in line. Restaurant is set up where you're in line to place your order and pick up your order at the other counter. Line can get a little long but it goes by pretty fast. You then seat yourself and all the condiments, sauce, and drinks are all at different stations for self serve. There are plenty of seats inside and even a bar inside the restaurant. Very casual and kid friendly atmosphere.

I've had Brickyard Crossing Smokehouse bookmarked forever! Why have I waited so long to visit this…read moredelightful restaurant a mile and a half from my home? No longer! We'll be back soon to sample more of the menu option and take advantage of the beautiful view from the deck. First, know you DO NOT have to pay track admission at any time, including race days (the 500 & 400), to dine at the restaurant. Just inform the yellow shirts (there during races) as you enter off 16th Street you're there to dine at the Smokehouse. They'll wave you right in. Their regular hours are 11 a.m. - 7:00 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday. However, they opened Sunday from 11-5 for the Brickyard 400 fans. Free parking is conveniently located in front of the restaurant. The Flag Room (over 21 only) is just off the lobby to the left and tastefully decorated in black and white race decor with a 60's feel. Slightly dated decor in the venue section of the building but it's coming back! The Flag Room has bar seating or 4-top tables with windows overlooking the back of turn 2 of the track. There was another dining area inside for under 21 patrons when we visited. Not sure if that area is always an option. As we entered the Flag Room our server asked if we'd prefer to sit on the deck. Yes, of course, on this beautiful fall day. And thank you for asking!! We could see both the jumbotron at IMS, hear the cars right next door and enjoy the players on the golf course all while sitting on the deck. On normal, non-racing days it's very peaceful and quiet. The deck is a large, family friendly, three tier deck overlooking the stunning Brickyard Crossing Golf Course. Room for families, friends or co-workers after work or a quiet table for two. The menu is larger than I expected. Simple two-sided menu with starters on one side and main courses on the other. A few of the appetizers are BBQ pulled nachos, smoked chicken wings, loaded fries, Smokehouse chili and three salads (Caesar, chef, tex-mex). Main courses are mostly sandwiches such as pulled pork hoagies, beef brisket, turkey bacon club, burger, tenderloin, chicken, smoked brisket tacos, house smoked baby back ribs and a veggie wrap. My husband ordered the Brisket sandwich which was not only a delicious sandwich but a good value for the price. It was served with yummy, thick, homemade chips finished off with their own in-house seasoning. Quite tasty and I ususally don't care for thick chips. I ordered a cup of the Smokehouse Chili with cheese and onion. I enjoyed the meaty, tomato based chili. For my entree I had the flavorful pulled pork hoagie served with excellent lightly battered fries. Again, it was a generous portion of pulled pork with a smokey sauce that had just a touch of sweetness. Most sauces are to sweet for me but I really enjoyed this one. The fries were amazing with a light batter, golden brown and seasoned well. Our server, Alicia I think, was attentive, very personable and friendly. Our drinks remained full, our tasty food arrived quickly and the prices are reasonable for the portion sizes. Stop by for lunch or dinner and definitely take advantage of the deck before winter arrives.

I had a Brisket n Pulled pork samich (called the double) and a side of bacon Mac n cheese. Have to say this was one of the better Mac n Cheese I have had anywhere. The Sam. Was really good very tasty. Whoever mans the BBQ deserves a raise!! Piled high with fries it was to much for this big boy to finish. The only down side is in a pro shop. Make a point to check it out.

There were a few designs to choose from: a lobster, an oyster, and a fish, from what I can recall. She also introduced me to our gracious host for the evening, Nolan, who was running the show. Nolan is a big ball of energy and a joy to be around. He set the vibes to light, fun and whimsical and I really appreciated that. Everyone moved around the room freely, visiting all of the tasting stations that were set up with whimsical, hand-drawn decorations on the paper tablecloths (much like that seen on the Pinterest commercial). There were 6 different ones, all with multiple options at each station. I tried sardines, razor clams, pickled ramps, an entire array of Fishwife tinned items, mustards, seafood dip that is made in-house, oysters, the list goes on. They also introduced me to an Indiana-based soda company call Bollygood, with Indian-inspired flavors. I love, love, love the Lime Basil Cumin flavor. I wasn't too sure about that combo, but it was delicious and super-refreshing. It smelled like a taco...but didn't taste like one! The Lemon Mango Turmeric was really good too. I also enjoyed the demonstrations lead by Chef Amber. She also has a light that was a pleasure to witness. I could just tell that she really loves what she does. While she does not work there, she still gets to come back for the fun stuff (her words). She has been a huge influence on the whole tinned fish movement at the smokehouse and develops recipes and curates these events alongside Nolan and the team. I loved both recipes that were shared with us and her enthusiasm to show us how we can elevate the tinned fish beyond the can. We mingled. We made friends. I spent a pretty penny on several of the delicious items that I was introduced to. I look forward to attending more events here in the future.

Here are my takeaways: Tour: Once we got our health and safety standards attire, we made our way through the warehouse tour. So interesting to see each step of the process. Affordable way to spend a Saturday morning and you can try some cool charcuterie meats like a fancy person. Shop/Product Reviews: As mentioned before, the retail shop is packed with products. Plenty of items to make a gorgeous charcuterie board and tasting plates. I did try a sample of the gin and juice salami, which I did not like. I found 4 great items that I will probably purchase again in the future: Big Red Salami made with Wagyu, Soprosseta, Tulip Tree Trillium Cheese and the amazing confection...Miso Bacon Caramel Bar. That and the Soprosseta stole my heart. Go there, try samples, buy what makes you smile, and live each day to the fullest!
