Tried their food truck at the Irvington Halloween Festival and got a So-Cal Burrito with Brisket and LOVED it. I got it with the OG bbq sauce and it was seriously so good. Highly highly recommend. They were very nice and it was very quick!

The menu is a mix of bbq, soul and Southern style cooking. Cornbread, green beans, peach cobbler, etc., included. I had the bbq loaded baked potato with bbq beef brisket. The brisket is amazingly tender and moist. The potato was smothered in cheese, onions, jalapeños and bacon. Yum. The bbq sauces are very tasty. I had the tangy sauce which had a kick to it. My husband had the pork tenderloin sandwich. The pork was hand prepped and breaded and very good. The Sidewinder fries are the BEST in Indy area - hands down and the portion is generous. Everyone was stealing his fries. My granddaughter had the Kid's pork bbq slider with Mac and cheese. She also devoured a corn muffin. She loved her meal. Others had the Pork Bbq sandwich combo with backed beans. The beans are freshly prepared and crave worthy. Pork sandwiches had a generous amount of moist pulled pork. We ordered at the counter and food is prepared fresh so there's a bit of a wait during dinner hour. About half people get their food to go. Prices are reasonable - especially desserts. The dining area is small - maybe five tables. Seating is tight. The patio area outside is nice if the Indiana weather cooperates. I love this place.

However, in planning the meal it had inadvertently been overlooked that Pizzology didn't open until 4pm. So, making a quick change of plans meant that we stopped in at Rackz almost directly in front of the Pizzology building. In case it's not obvious, this is a BBQ joint. There's accessible parking, an appropriate curb-cut, and the entryway is a pretty easy to maneuver one-sided glass door that is level to the ground. I found the interior to be a pretty good layout. There's also outside dining that's available when the weather is appropriate. The menu is consistent with most BBQ joints. Rackz offers both dinners (two sides and drink plus meat) or sandwich combos (only one side). The price range is generally in the $10-20 range, though they also offer some family-style options that go higher. So, we're talking BBQ, pulled pork, pulled chicken, brisket, ribs, and there's even a breaded tenderloin sandwich. They also have a "veggie BBQ dinner." Don't ask me, but it's on the menu. Sides are creative ranging from sidewinder fries to potato salad, mac n' cheese, baked beans, glazed carrots (which I got the chance to try from a fellow diner - I really did like these), and a few other items. I was honestly very impressed with the menu. They also have kids meals and a couple of different Wick's Pies (the classic sugar cream and pecan). I opted for pulled chicken sandwich with sidewinder fries. As we know, I always get iced tea. I really wanted to go for the breaded tenderloin, but I had a full afternoon and that's a splurge for me. However, I was super happy with this meal and would easily order it again. Employees are friendly. The atmosphere is casual and comfortable. Rackz also offers catering and they do have a rewards program. While this is a bit out of my way, I'd easily return when in the area.

Being fairly new to the Fishers area, I did a quick review scroll (as a yelper does lol) and went in with high hopes... and let me tell you, they did NOT disappoint! First off, the menu? Solid. So many options it almost stressed me out, in the best way! I finally landed on the Aloha Special Plate with Hawaiian BBQ Chicken + Chicken Katsu, upgraded my rice to fried rice, and it also came with the mac salad and veggies. Now when I opened that container... BABY. The portions?! Generous is an understatement. They did not come to play! The BBQ chicken was sweet, savory, and full of flavor. The chicken katsu? Crispy, golden perfection. Like... exactly what you want it to be. The macaroni salad was also hitting... creamy, flavorful, no complaints there. Only thing that fell a little flat for me was the rice, it just needed a bit more flavor. But honestly, everything else made up for it. I can't speak on the service or vibe since we did takeout, but based on this meal alone? Yeah... I'll absolutely be back. I've already got my eye on a few more things on the menu!

Upon walking in you put your order into the kiosk, or you can go up to the counter I believe as the man there will take your order. I believe he might be the owner too because he was never cooking. A few observations about the place it's got some really cute decor. Little bit more cliché than authentic. I would call out. The menu definitely has authentic items on it. The cooking is not as authentic however it is generous and it is fresh tasting. For example, the beef plate I believe had some type of seasoning on it. That gave it a flavor that is not exactly authentic. So I would recommend laying off the seasoning. The Katsu sauce, which is self service is also legitimate as as the teriyaki sauce. I would definitely come back here again however I also learned that there are other similar Hawaiian barbecue spots in the Carmel fishers Indianapolis area that I would also definitely want to check out and compare.

Driving past Big Hoffas daily in Westfield and finding the aroma no longer able to ignore. I finally intentionally pulled in and orderd theirs. Although, I wasn't disappointed in the brisket, it should have cooked at least 2-3 hours longer. Ambiance, ehh. Now the portion size of sides Mac and cheese and the Cole slaw had to be a mistake. The cup size is what I imagine you'd order from a kids menu. Maybe 2 ounce soufflés cup size. Unfortunately the Mac and cheese was horrid. It tasted like combining a generic version of some odd flavored Campbells cream soup, with dirty dish water blended into what was once perfectly delicious, traditional grannies recipe. Additionally, the bread was hard. The good news is, it didn't make me mad when I threw the bad away. I think if I do return, I'll forego the two toddler sides and order ala-cart and just get the brisket. One more thing, whats with the unsanitary curtains sprawled across the behind the scenes action, where the "magic" is created? Why is it hidden? What are we missing? Overall, the joint gets 3 stars. The gross ripoff sides get a zero, which is why the brisket got robbed. DO BETTER Big Hoffas. Please?

I almost skipped it, and I'm so glad I didn't. It was incredible. The BBQ sauce deserves a shoutout too. My only hope is that they get some more sides in the future like fries & Mac n cheese. But meat is the real MVP. One piece of advice: get there early. They just opened their new restaurant and are still figuring out how much food to prepare each day, and they were completely sold out before 2 p.m. That's a good problem to have! Show up hungry because you'll want to try everything. Be patient as they are figuring this out and have huge crowds. We waited in line for about 40 minutes and it was well worth it. On top of all that, the prices are very reasonable for the quality of the BBQ. Ben is a blast to talk to, and his staff is genuinely friendly and welcoming. You can tell they care about both the food and the people walking through the door. I'll definitely be back. Best BBQ I've had in Indiana.

We went with the spicy beef bulgogi, sirloin, ribeye, spicy five spice chicken, and garlic chicken. The meats were fresh, well marinated, and the ribeye disappeared embarrassingly fast. For the hot pot, we built a spicy broth loaded with udon noodles, lobster balls, fish balls, crab stick, bean sprouts, lotus root, corn, bell peppers, spinach, cilantro, enoki mushrooms, and carrots. The broth just kept getting better as everything cooked together, so don't judge it by the first few bites. One thing that really stood out was the service. They stayed on top of the grill, replacing it when it got too charred and oiling it without us having to ask. The hot pot bar was also impressively stocked, and I never felt like the popular ingredients had been picked over. The ambiance was upbeat without feeling chaotic, and the whole experience was one notch up from just going out to dinner. My only piece of advice is to dress in layers. Between the tabletop grill and a bubbling pot of broth, you'll be questioning every life decision that involved wearing a sweater. Overall, this is the kind of place that's worth bringing friends who like food and don't mind leaving smelling faintly of barbecue. Honestly, that's part of the experience. The pulled pork had zero flavor, the nonexistent brisket was overcooked and hard to eat and I saw them take the sausage out of some plastic bag and just heat it up.
