Been to Jan's a couple of times. We really like their pizza. The crust is a good ... more thin than not ... which is what we like. Unfortunately the last two times we've been, our bill has been incorrect. I don't mean charged for something not ordered. And the employees at Jan's will say our bill was correct. Specifically, the price on the menu that they give you to order from is NOT the price you are charged. We were charged 10-15% more than the menu price (around $4 or so). We asked about this and where told, "the computer is correct". I then asked if they didn't want to reprint the menus. The waitress just shrugged. With inflation, I can understand not wanted the added cost of reprinting menus. But how about taking a pen and manually updating them? Or, posting a sign (they have several boards with messages already)? Or telling the customers? For good faith and customer service, it seems full transparency would be a good business practice. As mentioned we like the pizza and supporting small local businesses. My wife wants to return for those reasons.... Stating now that we know the price, we know the price. For my part, I'm iffy on a return. So, go if you want good pizza but be warned the menu is currently incorrect on pricing as of mid February 2023. read more

Tried to give my business to a struggling downtown Westfield location. Placed an order at 5:30 told 35 to 45 minutes came in at 6:30 and they said they were very backed up because they got a large order and every single person in there was told it would be 20 to 30 more minutes? It seems like some kind of communication could've been made prior to everyone driving up there multiple employees were just walking around . Definitely won't be back. This place is so quaint! They have a pizza buffet at lunch or you can order off the menu. I chose the menu as I had just had pizza the day before. I got the 6in blt sandwich and it came with chips. It was so good! My friend got pizza and it did look amazing! I'd like to go back and try it. And, my lunch was seriously like 10 bucks with an iced tea. Pretty reasonable prices! Parking was available in back or street, but there is a lot of construction right now so I parked behind. Both ladies working were super friendly and welcoming. Visiting from out of town for a soccer tournament, pretty quiet inside due to local kids being on spring break. We had the Mediterranean pizza, the dough was baked to perfection, was light and didn't feel stuffed up afterwards. Spoke to the owner, and we discussed the Las Vegas pizza convention. Before we knew it, we were out the door with some freshly made pizza dough for home cooking and home made Greek dressing. I'm deducting a star, and as always, that requires an explanation. My original review was written nearly three years ago, just a week after I moved to Westfield. There has apparently been a change of management. I don't know all the details, but unfortunately, the place has become a little dirtier, a little gloomier, and the pizza itself seems more like an old leather catcher's mitt. Don't get me wrong; a 'dive' place can easily be redeemed by superior craft pizza and/or some other food item that knocks it out of the park. Jan's never had pizza of that caliber, and with the recent reduction in overall quality, things are heading in the wrong direction. Examples: * As I write this review, one of the owners/employees is sitting at a nearby table, having grabbed some pizza (without a plate) from the lunch buffet. He's sitting there talking and eating with another customer. Employees should never eat right next to customers, especially wearing a ratty t-shirt and jeans. I have questions about this place's ability to pass a health inspection. * The pizza I'm eating right now was sitting under the heat lamps for quite some time, and no new pizzas have been brought out since I've been here (going on 40 minutes). Imagine a Tombstone pizza that's been sitting on the counter for an hour... I think this establishment should seriously consider changing direction, and moving into the boutique pizza genre. Invest in an 800 degree oven, hire some experienced chefs, and consider a new employee uniform policy. You'll pack this place if you move into thin crust, artisan pizza. Westfield and Carmel are into that sort of thing. Owners - if you're listening, I want to help. This building has charm, and I hope you'll make some changes. After an afternoon of Volleyball at the nearby Grand Park complex, our team decided to order Jan's Village Pizza to feed our group. The online order form was pretty easy to fill out and pay in advance. You had to establish an account, but the ordering was easy. I sent the order before leaving the facility, loaded up the vehicle and made the short (less than 5 minutes) drive, and after finding a parking spot and walking in, the pizzas were ready to go! Another short drive to the hotel, and the pizzas were still plenty hot enough. Nice dough thickness and plenty of toppings. Quality was terrific. Plenty of cheese. There was the ability to add special instructions on the order, but we ordered an 8-inch personal pizza with cheese only for one family member, and two of us split a medium Italian Meat Lover's. Portion was just right for two of us. The service inside the restaurant was super quick and friendly. Loved the ambiance of the place, so could easily enjoy a meal there. But, we were coming from a volleyball tournament, so much easier to take to the hotel. Will definitely return! read more

We arrive, there are 5 tables seated, some finished, some waiting to order. The waitress basically ignored us for about 10 minutes, a young lady from the kitchen attempts to seat us and the waitress says no, not yet. So we wait a few more minutes and decide if she cannot even handle a few table, our service can only be worse. We left. There must have been at least 20 open tables. The pizza looked great and the place was quaint. If they could hire waitstaff that wanted to work, this place may be worth another try. Went Monday for the pizza buffet. Cute restaurant, friendly staff, but mediocre food. The salad bar was sad, it had: lettuce mix, spinich, sliced tomatoes, chopped red onions, mushrooms, cheese, and 3 dressings. Tasted alright but felt it could definitely use more topping selections. Same with the pizza selection: pepperoni with sausage, chicken, ham. The pepperoni with sausage was probably the best the others were sparse on toppings and flavor. The bread sticks were pretty good. There was spaghetti and mac and cheese as well but I didn't get around to trying it. The price was good, under $10. Just think it could be better and draw in more customers. read more

I have given this place 4x to make things right: I've been waiting almost 2 hours for a medium pizza and a Stromboli . I will never order or recommend this place to anyone. I'm not sure why I tried again , besides the fact that an old classmate owns the place, so I'd hoped things would get better after the 4th time ordering. maybe everyone else has better luck, but I sure don't. I tried to give 10% tip instead of my usual 20%, but the website only allowed a. minimum of 18% tip, which is nuts for a pizza delivery. still no food delivered after all this. this is disgusting in my opinion. good luck with this pace if you are stupid enough to order from them them. If I could think of one word to describe this restaurant, I'd say "decent". Seriously, the pizza was decent. I had the lunch buffet so had a chance to try a few different kind, it all was fine. The customer service here was really good and so was the food. I especially liked this one worker because she took my phone call and answered it in a good and calm manner. I think her name was Aubrey because I heard people talking to her from the kitchen. She also gave me my food and made sure to ask me if I needed anything else before I left. Wandered in here on the worst day of weather this year. Just got hit by an ice storm and literally skated in after dropping off my car at Mufflers and More. They are only open for lunch from 11-2 and then I think closed til 5 when they open back up for dinner. Had their lunch buffet. Pizza here is EXCELLENT and nice selection. People were nice and did not bother me while I was on my computer attending a web conference. No wi-fi however but that's OK I had my broadband card. Until Jan sold the restaurant we were weekly customers. We love the small town feel and everyone knowing everyone. We went in a few times after it was sold and tried delivery too. The quality is different a cross the board. Delivery: Two of the three times we had it delivered it arrived late and cold. This most recent time it arrived on time and warm. The driver forgot the salad but did bring it back quickly. Pizza: On the latest visit one pizza was incorrectly made. The flavor was similar to what we remembered but the crust didn't taste as good. Bread sticks/garlic cheese bread: the garlic cheese bread was limp. The bread sticks were awesome. Salad: The late salad was warm and limp and the cheese was a bit melted. Not one bit appetizing. Either this is a really off night or the management and quality control is nil. When my daughter worked at Jan's quality, correct temperature and taste were the most important things to achieve. We were pleasantly surprised by Jan's! I had heard great reviews of their pizza by friends but hadn't made it over to try until this week. Cute little local place, loved the charm with the exposed brick walls. We had to wait a little longer by our pizza got burnt in the oven but overall it didn't seem super long. Service was nice and welcoming and we loved the pizza! We liked learning about the different pizzas on the menu and how they are developed by employees and then voted on by the community. How fun! I can't believe I haven't written a review for Jan's yet! Jan's Village Pizza is by far the best pizza in the area. The cheese is gooey and the sauce is delicious! Jan is almost always there and is one of the sweetest people I have ever met. She makes you feel like family. Although I have never eaten the Gyro (I'm not a fan of lamb) my brother raves about how it's better there than any other place he has tried. Also, they have an ice cream counter! Ice cream and pizza? Yes please! Jan's has a pizza buffet for lunch Monday though Saturday, I think, don't quote me on that lol and it's really good too. A great way to try the different pizza's they offer. I think there is usually about 4 different pizzas at a time on the buffett and a small salad bar beside it. I love Jan's. I will return here again and again. read more

The cashier was super nice, showed me my pizzas, and asked me how my day was going as we joked about online classes full of busy work. If you're looking for a locally-owned, small business, head to Jan's. They have great pizzas! Their 20" pizzas are HUGE - perfect for feeding hungry teenage/college kids. But, the best part of Jan's is the customer service. They're always friendly and on point. Last night was a perfect example.
