Restaurants are certainly entitled to their policies, but customer service and kindness matter. A simple explanation or a gracious interaction would have gone a long way. Instead, she was treated in a manner that left us feeling unwelcome and disappointed. I sincerely hope that what I can only assume is a $100 cake was worth the lifetime value of the business they are losing from our family of four, our friends and family. I also hope they consider that reviews matter, and people pay attention to how businesses treat people. Great food should be matched with great hospitality. To do this to a bride and then have her continuously email for restitution and provide TERRIBLE communication is a truly awful thing to do. ***DO NOT USE THIS BUSINESS*** And in general, their communication is terrible. They don't answer the phone and you have to email 2 or 3 times before they respond. Weddings are already expensive and stressful -- do yourself a favor and don't add to it by using Chantel's Bakery. EDIT AFTER OWNER COMMENT: Chantel's Bakery never reached out to me after the credit card did not go through. Actually, the opposite. I emailed Chantel's two days after the in-person meeting informing them that my credit card had not been charged and asked when it would be. I NEVER RECEIVED A RESPONSE. It was not until the morning of my wedding did I receive a PayPal invoice, in which was paid within 3 hours of receipt. Maybe a planner would have been helpful in completing additional follow-ups with the business WHICH IS CLEARLY REQUIRED, so that I didn't have to be the one to realize the cake was missing. However, a business should establish some sort of organization that would allow them not to forget an order IN THE FIRST PLACE. The sad fact is that Dennis told me that the error should have never happened it was entirely their fault and he would provide a FULL REFUND which he has failed to do.
