    Bruschetta
    Me O.

We initially came for a simple glass of wine because the weather was so beautiful, but the wine tasted so old and Was obviously passed its prime. We asked the server to please open another bottle. Fortunately, she agreed in our experience was much more pleasurable and we ended up staying longer and ordered 2 1/2 more glasses of wine otherwise we would've left. We also ended up ordering the bruschetta and we think it should come with a side of balsamic glaze and it would be ideal if it had more cheese.

Somewhat ample parking, conveniently located off of a residential / commercial intersection at the entrance to the Sterling area. Here you'll find the food as consistently above average, but not spectacular enough to stand out. When they opened years ago their carpese was truly phenomenal. It's still okay now, and all ingredients have remained consistently fresh through the years. The ambience is a 5/5 for the area - well designed and the interior layout is very space efficient for foot traffic. Very friendly and speedy service for what isn't classified as "fast food" as well. 4*!

Love it -- lunchtime is always busy, so be prepared for a long wait for your food. Overall all The wait was good-

Me loveeeee Cafesano! Ive been getting food from here for a few years now. You literally can't go wrong with any of the food options. Everything is amazingggg. This is the a classier looking spot, but not too fancy that you can't dress casual. The service is good, they don't take your order at the table. They take your food order at the register. My favorites: Chicken Alfredo 9/10 Steak/chicken kabob 9/10 Margherita pizza 10/10 (thin style) Panini 9/10 Shawarma 9/10 Side note: sign up for the rewards program and you can get discounts and free food

This is a great place for people who like healthier food but also having options of what to decide on. They have pizza, pasta, kabobs, salads, sandwiches, paninis, and more! My girlfriend and I have ordered so many things from here. On our most recent trip we each ordered a salad with a kabob and we split a margherita pizza. Pizza is my favorite food so when I say it's good, I mean it. I'd definitely order it again. I also had the arugula salad with a steak kabob and I thought it was a great pairing. My girlfriend ordered the signature with a shrimp kabob I believe. The service here is always good. You order at the counter and they bring it out when it's ready so there's not much interaction with the staff. But they're all kind and helpful so that's a plus. They usually have food out within about 10 minutes or so. The ambiance is pretty open and casual. There's a lot of seating including tables for parties larger than 6. It feels pretty modern as well so it adds to the atmosphere. This used to be a spot we went to all the time after the gym. But it's nice to know it's still up to par.

Cafesano is one of my favorite restaurants in the area. Prices are very reasonable and the food is fresh and delicious! You order at the register and they bring the food to your table, so you don't need to leave a full 20% tip like a full service restaurant. If you get a fountain drink, you could go up to the soda machine and get as many refills as you would like. I've had many different items from the menu. The pizza, wraps, paninis, and salads are all great. Signature salad is always fresh and quite large. If you get the gluten free crust for the pizza, it is crispy, just the way I like it. They have a large number of gluten free options which is nice. Cafesano is a must if you are in the Sterling/Ashburn/Reston area!

I have dined here a few times with my family and have enjoyed our time. We always get the same thing, the chicken pasta alfredo and a side of french fries. This place can definitely accommodate a big or small group. You can either dine in or do a take out order.

Ambiance : I could actually give 4* just for the ambiance itself. Very cozy and several options to choose from indoor/ outdoor/balcony. The service was also wonderful. I like the idea of ordering upfront and paying before we reach the table, the service was very quick. Food: We had the dip sampler(red pepper hummus and baba ghanoush), chicken pesto panini with lavash chips and penne Arrabbiata. Red pepper hummus was very good. Both the main dishes were pretty average. We were told they were one of the popular items. Pasta was slightly undercooked. Pesto sandwich was dry. I would not order them again.

Cafesano is my go to spot at least twice a month!! It is consistently fresh and delicious, every single time! My order usually consist of salmon kabob platter and when I'm hosting a spades games these crowd pleasers: Blanca insalada pizza and Blanca pollo pizza and red pepper hummus. My lips are watering just thinking about it! Ordering online is easy, the timing is perfect and pick up is a breeze! The staff is pleasant and professional. The atmosphere is calm, relaxing and pretty! The outdoor set up is nice with fans for outdoor eating. When my friends ask for a healthy and delicious food, I always recommend Cafesano!

My daughter stopped in hoping to purchase several slices of their lemon mascarpone cake for my husband's birthday celebration. Instead, she was told she could only purchase one slice and, when she politely asked where the cake came from, staff refused to share any information. Restaurants are certainly entitled to their policies, but customer service and kindness matter. A simple explanation or a gracious interaction would have gone a long way. Instead, she was treated in a manner that left us feeling unwelcome and disappointed. I sincerely hope that what I can only assume is a $100 cake was worth the lifetime value of the business they are losing from our family of four, our friends and family. I also hope they consider that reviews matter, and people pay attention to how businesses treat people. Great food should be matched with great hospitality. Sadly, today's experience demonstrated that exceptional customer service was not on the menu.

We were surprised to find this place was very small and has the look of a quick serve place, which it is not. The server: very nice and attentive. No one here seemed to actually be from Italy, which we are accustomed to when going to Italian places. Food: the crispy artichoke appetizer was good. The whipped ricotta appetizer was delicious. For meals, we got the bucatini and this one pasta with a pumpkin cream sauce. They were both OK, I didn't love the Brussel sprouts in my dish, just didn't go well. We also ordered the side of chicken parm for protein, which was big and good. For dessert the cappuccino was good but was sweet for some reason (I didn't ask for any sweetener). The tiramisu was pretty good, I imagine homemade, especially with it being more yellow which is more traditional.

I'm usually not a white wine drinker, but my fiancé ordered a glass of Terre d'Abruzzo Pecorino, and I was pleasantly surprised. It was incredibly crisp, bright, and refreshing--one of the rare white wines I'd happily order myself. For dinner, we had the Il Misto in garlic sauce and the Linguini Vongole in garlic sauce. A fun touch was that they come around with freshly grated Parmesan and will keep sprinkling it until you tell them to stop. The Il Misto was loaded with a generous variety of seafood, and the garlic sauce leaned creamy without feeling too heavy. The Linguini Vongole was equally enjoyable--the clams tasted fresh with a pleasantly briny flavor that wasn't overly "fishy," and the pasta was cooked perfectly al dente. Overall, this was a satisfying Italian dinner with quality seafood, attentive little touches, and a wine that unexpectedly won me over. I'd definitely come back to try more of the menu.

I wish that San Marzano sauce was on those balls, though! The atmosphere was more "Italian diner" than "nice restaurant", but the food was good enough to please everyone. Tables were kinda jammed together. Service was great though as the waitress was always stopping by to see what else we needed for our meals. Our table got a bit crowded for 3 of us, but that's probably because we're pigs.

The restaurant itself is old school Italian with the drippy candles in wine bottles and dated decor. It could definitely use a facelift - and still maintain that classic Italian restaurant vibe. The food was the most disappointing part of the journey. Calamari that was chewy and not at all seasoned - clearly frozen and out of a bag and our meals were no better. I LOVE veal saltimbocca and get it whenever I can. The veal was thick, mozzarella wasn't fresh, and it was drowning in canned mushrooms. Nothing about our meal said fresh. We were leaving the next day for a quick trip so we did not take our leftovers home, but I can honestly say we wouldn't have even if we didn't have a trip planned.

I will start off by saying that I had low expectations given the track record of non-chain Italian restaurants I've tried since living in northern VA of which 85% have been terrible (remember I'm from NJ where Italian food should be the state food). But I said YOLO, crossed my fingers and ordered the marsala via GrubHub. The moral of the story is that I was PLEASANTLY SURPRISED by Cantina D'Italia overall because the marsala was pretty tasty, spaghetti cooked almost perfectly, garlic bread with cheese perfectly seasoned and cheesy and they sent an added little unexpected bonus of a pretty side salad with a homemade vinaigrette and fresh Italian bread and butter! Oh and the portion was HUGE! Totally got 2-3 meals out of it. Cantina D'Italia has given me hope ... or I should say at least gave me an Italian restaurant I just might frequent and explore all the other menu options :)

It looked like half a ciabatta loaf, and to my surprise, it was covered in mozzarella cheese (melted well in the pizza oven) not used to garlic bread covered in cheese, but it was a pleasant surprise and very good. The entrees were passible; however, the Veal dishes were not as tender and enjoyable as they should have been. They need to tenderize the veal properly before preparation. I thought there may have been a bad piece, but all three veal dishes garnered the same complaint. I am a veal snob from NYC, so proper meat prep is a must for this dish. (Happens in other Va Ital restaurants too.) The chicken marsala was good with no real negative complaints. The only thing I can say is that for the price charged, a larger portion would be a better model. When the plate looks sparce when they put it on the table, the impression is not a favorable one. Now that being said - The deserts are huge. Perhaps to offset the meal size. Tiramisu could feed two to three (with extra spoons supplied). Cannoli were pretty good - expected one and received two fairly good-sized cannoli on the plate - took one home. Will give them another try at some point. Maybe the Father's Day rush limited performance. We'll see.
