I do peer my car off after hours yesterday. This morning at 8 am I called and checked to see if they were going to be able to work on it and give a brief overview of the problem. I went to Siegen Car Care to have my 2006 Toyota serviced. This was my very first visit and the service I received was awesome. I went in with an AC problem, the technician Hans had my 4 Runner ac cold within an hour. He also found another issue that needed to be addressed and was able to take care of that too. This was a busy Saturday and I did not have an appointment but he took care of my vehicle and amazingly the job did not run over their noon closing. I think the pricing is fair too. I definitely give Hans 5 stars and would highly recommend this service center. read more

Pros: Definitely better than some of the other auto places in the city!! Really fast turnaround and extremely friendly!! I went there for brake work as well as a new serpentine belt and the cost was much better than I was expecting and I had my car in just 2 hours!! Cons: The place is rather small with limited seating so I would recommend dropping off a car is that is possible. I know it isn't possible for everyone so there are a few seats inside. read more

Traveling through Baton Rouge and Check Brake System warning was on in our 2009 Ford F-150 truck. I was able to get an early morning appointment and they took me on time. They removed our wheels and inspected the brake components and verified our brake pads were okay and our brake fluid was full. That took about an hour and they only charged us $23.75 for the labor. We do have a faulty ABS module, which they said to get repaired at a Ford dealership, but in the meantime it was okay to drive the truck and the brakes would work just fine. The service writer I spoke to on the phone to schedule the appointment was friendly and knowledgeable and was the same when arriving for the appointment and at the conclusion of the service. When I started the truck all the red warning lights were gone, so the small service charge was well worth it to me! read more

Had a blow out of a horse trailer tire. Drove it to SCC because I had a previous good experience here. Terrific guys at SCC put my spare on in minutes--would've taken me an hour or more. I'm in awe of how fair and actually kind these folks are! I came in today after having been told I need a new AC compressor by another mechanic. I was ready to fork over the money but they wanted to check it first. Verdict: the compressor is fine. There's a leak elsewhere in the system. They're taking the most inexpensive steps first to find out what the problem is. This is the third time I've come here expecting an expensive repair and walked out having paid hundreds less than I expected. I'm never taking my cars anywhere else as long as these guys are here! read more

Wow, what can I say about this place. The best service with amazing prices. Was driving through Baton Rouge on a road trip, told Daniel about the issue and the timing problem. Was in an out of there an hour with amazing price, my mechanic in NYC put too much freon in my car and the car was making weird noise due to this. Seigen was able to flush it out and get me on the road again quickly. Can't say enough how these guys Rock and super friendly. BTW, for any females out there, they talk to you, not at you. I agree wholeheartedly with R.S.' review of SCC. This is the only place i take my car. Daniel and Graham are always there and ready to give you an honest diagnosis and pricing. I can't say that they're the cheapest place in town, b/c I don't go anywhere else. I can tell you that the pricing you'll get is legitimate in the fact that they're not going to add in useless costs/labor to pump up their bottom line. I've been coming here for years and I keep bringing up things that I think might need repair. Daniel takes a look and tells me "save your money. It can wait". When have you EVER heard a mechanic tell you that?! They do get very busy, and being a smaller shop, they might not be able to drive you to work and all of that...but those costs are lumped into your repair somehow when the big guys do it. Call for an appointment, and if you can't get a ride, the Target shopping center is across the street. Expect honesty and quality work from these guys, every time you need them. read more

I am a harsh critic of customer service and I am capable of most car repairs myself when I have the time. I recently did not have time to work on a vehicle and spoke with Bill before deciding to drop it off for evaluation. What I got was an honest evaluation and simple brake repair along with tire rotation for a very reasonable price. Seigen Car Care did a great job on my boyfriend's truck. They diagnosed and fixed the problem, plus now it gets much better mileage. They were on time and friendly. Update: 7/23/13: Seigan Car Care did a great job on my 2003 VW Passat a few months ago. It needed routine maintenance, plus a fix to the AC system, plus diagnosis and fix of a broken tail light that turned out to be related to some melted wires. The AC system fix was expensive and they were great about giving me options and helping me decide how extensive (and expensive) a fix I should do. The electrical stuff was a mystery and they did a great job of explaining the diagnosis and the possibilities at each step. This is the most important part: I'm a woman who knows more about cars than I would appear to, but not enough to really fully evaluate some claims. The result is that with a lot of mechanics, my B.S. meter is always redlining. With multiple people at Seigan that I interacted with, I always felt I was getting the full story from someone who was both qualified and dedicated to giving straightforward information. They didn't insultingly dumb it down, and they also didn't insultingly use complicated jargon in an effort to intimidate. The person you talk to on the phone or at the counter is a real mechanic, often the one who did the work on your car. It was like talking to a good doctor, one who has time to give you all the information and respects that you will choose your own healthcare options. A few months later, the A/C is still going strong and I passed my inspection. The only weird thing was that my car alarm no longer honks when I lock the car. I took it back just to have them check it out, telling them I don't care if it honks or not. They said everything else was working fine. They have also offered to drive me across the street to the coffee shop while I wait so I don't have to cross over the busy intersection. These guys are honest, hardworking, and friendly. They do not try to rip you off; they only do the work that is necessary and they do it well. I will never go anywhere else in town, not even for "just" an oil change. (I have had a couple of places in Baton Rouge screw up a seemingly simple oil change) They do not try to "add on" unnecessary services as Firestone does. I am at a loss for words. We came from a nightmare situation after over $7000 spent to replace a motor at another shop. Daniel would not take our money but checked out everything even though it was not necessarily in their best interest. He was so kind to even look at it. Refused to do any work until he knew for sure it was absolutely necessary. Who does that? Certainly not the shop that left us in dire straits after replacing the engine and the engine light coming on with a new code every two days and them charging us $300 to $500 every "new" repair like we had never been there before. Daniel was a kind person and spent time on it but still never charged us a penny. We literally drove away without paying one cent. I can't imagine what else I could say. I went to visit Siegen Car Care after doing my research and calling ahead to make sure my time and money is well spent. I see these excellent reviews and said "Why not, they seem great!" I called the morning of my visit and made sure they were able to check out the AC of my specific vehicle - the manager said "Sure! Come on in!" I went in, told them my situation, they took my keys, and told me that they would call me when it was ready. THREE HOURS until they got to my vehicle, and for the majority of those hours, I was the only one waiting in the waiting room. I had to remind the MANAGER which car was my vehicle THREE TIMES. He gave me an attitude when I asked for an update after I was already waiting for 2 hours and he smartly gave me the diagnosis of ANOTHER VEHICLE, again I had to remind the manager which car was mine. I understand that these type of businesses can be busy with other customers, and they say "First Come, First Serve!" BUT I witnessed them putting two other customers' needs infront of mine, serving them as soon as they walked in the door with their problems. I tried to be respectful and understanding, but I demanded the keys to my car and THAT is when they decided to pull my vehicle into the shop - did not want to lose the money of another paying customer apparently. They charged my AC without my knowledge then informed me that it was overcharged and that it was a problem prior to my visit, then why did they charge my AC?? No one updated me, they weren't telling me that they were going to charge my AC, there was no communication. They charged me $150 for absolutely NOTHING to be fixed. Sure, an AC charge is $150, but without my knowledge and when they saw my AC was already overcharged?? They told me I needed a completely new actuator which would put me at $450. I went to another shop that actually fixed my AC and charged me less, no new parts needed. Never going to Seigen Car Care, and I shared my experience with all my friends and now with you all. Wasted $150 and 5 hours of my life for ABSOLUTELY NOTHING. read more

First of all i will not take my vehicle anywhere else. This is the first and last honest mechanic shop that i have ever found. I went to Siegen Car Care after my vehicle was pre-diagnosed from a competitor. So i went in with an idea of what i needed to get done. After talking to Daniel, he suggested that he would go ahead and make sure that i needed all the work done that was diagnosed. After checking he called and told me that i only needed about half the work done, which meant i was going to save half the money. He didn't have to be honest with me they could of went ahead and did all the work and charged me for work that didn't need to get done. After driving my vehicle from there i couldn't believe it was my truck, it drove like it did when i first got it years ago. Love this place will be back for anything i need done. He got all the info for me, so all I had to do was show up at the Honda dealership. There was no charge for his time. Daniel and Graham are as honest as it gets. That's hard to find with mechanics but these guys are the real deal. Brought my car there several times. If it's something that needs to be fixed, they'll do it. If it something that doesn't need to be done, they won't do it. Most recently, took my car there because a spark plug cable burned on the exhaust manifold. Daniel could have done the work but told me I should bring it back to the shop that did the tune-up in August and get it fixed under warranty. Most places would have replaced the part without any hesitation. Got no resolution from the original shop so I brought it back to Siegen Car Care today and had the work done because I trust them to do it right. Won't use anyone else again. read more
