When I was born coming up on 30 years ago in a hospital in New York my mother bought my father a gold necklace which I've worn every day since he died 15 years ago. When my daughter came into the world I had already decided I wanted this chain to be passed down to her and any other children my wife and I have in the future. Imagine how it felt when she jumped on my neck and broke it. It was a struggle finding people in the local area of Kissimmee who can work on gold but the moment I stepped into Ken's I was taken care of, and after Luis looked at it, I was even taught about the casting process this 29 year old chain went through all those years ago. When I picked up my chain I was in awe. Not only was it repaired, but it was polished, and has never looked this good! I'm over the moon about Ken's and you should be too! They have a fair estimate and turn around time. Once, I accidentally left a ring that was being cleaned and they were so great to have it waiting for me the next day. I didn't have any proof or receipt, but they took great care of me. They can also cut off a stick ring and put it back together like new.

    I have shopped at Kay Jewelers many times in the past and have never encountered what I would…read moredescribe as such disingenuous and questionable business practices. I received a pair of pearl earrings as a Christmas gift from my mother. She provided me with the receipt in case I wished to exchange them, which I did. I located a different pair online that showed as in stock at your store and went in for a simple exchange. I was assisted by an employee named Antony. From the outset, he was dismissive and told me I would need to wait before he could even verify whether the merchandise was returnable or exchangeable. When he eventually reviewed the receipt and earrings, I informed him that I simply wished to exchange them for a different pair. He then stated that I could only exchange the earrings for something of higher value -- which was confusing, as there is no such restriction stated on the receipt or in your return policy. When I asked instead for a refund, he told me that the store did not have enough cash to issue one and suggested I return later to see if more money had come in. I then asked whether I could receive the balance on a gift card and complete the purchase online instead, at which point he changed course and said he would allow the exchange and issue the remaining amount on a gift card. This directly contradicted what he had just told me moments earlier. The situation became even more troubling when he then refused to process the exchange at all, stating he could not locate my mother's "profile" in the system -- despite my having a valid, traceable receipt showing the purchase from just days earlier. At the same time, another employee named Francine was assisting a couple nearby and explained to them that Kay's system had recently undergone changes and that customer profiles were lost. Yet Mr. Antony continued to insist that he could not proceed because he could not find my mother's profile. I again asked for the remaining approximately $90 to be refunded in cash. He told me the store had less than $200 on hand and that they were unwilling or unable to issue a cash refund. While I understand businesses have internal procedures, it is extremely concerning that a retail jewelry store is not prepared to issue a modest refund to a customer with valid documentation. The only alternative offered was for a check to be mailed, with no timeline provided as to when that check would arrive. At every turn, I was given conflicting information, arbitrary limitations, and shifting explanations that appeared designed to make a straightforward exchange or refund as difficult as possible. I had: A valid receipt, Unopened, unused, and unaltered merchandise, And was well within your stated return and exchange policy. The manner in which this was handled -- and the way I was treated -- was inappropriate, deeply frustrating, and frankly unacceptable. What should have been a simple customer service interaction became an unnecessarily stressful and unpleasant experience.
