But just to be safe I put in the notes at the bottom that I would like all toppings except mushrooms. Well sure enough we get our food and it has only the one single topping of onions that I was forced to select. So no peppers, cheese, mayo. Just dry meat and onion on bread. There's two other things I ordered. One was curly fries. You couldn't convince me that these weren't a week old. They were so stale it was hard to chew through them, felt like cardboard. The other was their fresh lemonade which they offered flavor syrup add-ins for. I chose passionfruit and it tasted like straight up lemonade, I could not taste any passiontruit at all. The idea to go out and buy one pre-made at Cold Stone Creamery came in a sudden flash. But it was a good one. I'll admit the pricetag for the cake was a bit more than I was expecting, but I'm already convinced it's worth it. The cake we bought was called 'the midnight delight'. It was the chocolate lover's ultimate cake. Chocolate frosting. Chocolate ice cream. Chocolate candy shells. And of course... chocolate cake filling. When I saw it for sale in Cold Stone Creamery's fridge, it took me all of 10 seconds to decide that this was the one. Better still? The staffers at Cold Stone tonight were AWESOME. The cake selection was actually guided by Zoe, while Lily took care of the cash register. Then, under the guidance of the manager, Brenda, the three of them set out to add that extra je ne sais quoi to make the cake absolutely fabulous. They used a very charming variant of pink for the, 'Happy Birthday Mom!!' lettering, lightly accented the cake with pink sparkles, and rounded it off with strategically placed pink candles encircling the cake's perimeter. Me and the family are planning on unveiling mom's cake and presents in two hours around midnight, but I'm very confident it's going to go well.
