Been craving shrimp pasta for months and decided to try mr Gs! I have never had any of their seafood dishes I normally get their lasagna pizzas etc! They have 2 different kinds! shrimp pasta and creole shrimp pasta ! Same thing they just put creole season on it.... it took about 15 mins for it to be ready I picked it up made it home opened it up and didn't notice much creole seasoning on it! I remember chilli had a really GREAT shrimp pasta that I loved because honestly am not a fan of creamy sauces like Alfredo sauce .. but was craving it for the longest and said bump it was 10 something with tax and a side salad was a 1$ extra and i passed on that today but back to the pasta ! I opened it up and saw like 2 pounds of pasta and like one shrimp! I almost spazzed out! Until I stirred it up and saw a few more LIKE 6! I actually had to stirr the pasta up to find them few! It tasted like regular shrimp pasta with a little kick! I'm not a big pasta person but I believe I've been to Mr. Gs about four times since January of 2017. I've tried about three different pastas from Mr.Gs, but my favorite is the Chicken Italiani. A perfect mixture of angel hair noodles, spaghetti sauce, and chicken breast topped with mozzarella cheese. Good for a quick and easy pasta fix. Tried the Chicken Italiani as well as the Chicken Alfredo. It won't blow you away, but it's about what's expected. The workers are all very nice and super welcoming. It was our first time there and they helped us figure out what to order. The bread is AMAZING. This used to be a great place for pizza, pasta and salads. The service has gotten horrible. Still a "decent" place if you don't mind being ignored by the folks taking orders. The last 2 times I've been there, the cashiers were much more interested in talking on the phone, deciding when they were going on breaks and how they couldn't wait to get off of work. I won't go back for a while. It's a shame that management has allowed it to go downhill like this! Update 4-2010 Service has improved a good bit. Still not great service but the food is good. If you think this is a Italian restaurant and planning to go their with your date, probably she/he may not be much impressed with your selection. This is pretty much the fast food Italian restaurant! You order the overrated food and they will serve it you in two minutes! Olive Garden would be ashamed of the service these guys provide! They pretty much have everything ready and pour Alfredo sauce on everything, heat it again and serve you. Food is very bland and the one bread they give is like a sponge dipped in oil. The food for the price is way to costly and not worth it. One may just want to go there for providing business to local restaurant! read more

The food was DELICIOUS. But the service lacked a lot to be desired. HORRIBLE SERVICE!!! Getting refills is impossible as is getting a to-go box or even silverware! While my family & myself were there, 3 families that came in after us were served before us & when we asked for an extra ranch, the girl never came back to our table. Pizza dough like trying to eat leather and the topping was thin as a sheet of paper. Called & complained on this to go order & was told they are getting their pizza dough from a new place & I am not the only one that has complained. I was told, being back the pizza and they would make me another one. Why would I waste gas and drive 15 miles to get another pizza made with the same dough. On a recent trip to Tuscaloosa I had dinner after an Alabama football game. We were hungry and tired and had I been in any other condition, this place wouldn't have sufficed. My girlfriend wanted to go for sentimental reasons, as this was a popular place when she was in school. I get the nostalgia, and I am glad she got to relive some memories, but I wouldn't return. I ordered the Chicken Parmesan (which is the standard I judge any Italian restaurant). We ordered and 20 minutes later I was greeted by an overcooked chicken breast on a mound of spaghetti with melted cheese instead of sauce. My girlfriend ordered the spaghetti and meatballs and a salad. All of this came out to around $20.00 which is about the maximum I would pay for a meal like this. Service was decent but nothing fabulous. Looking back, I think it would have been smart to order a pizza as they did look better. I am sure we will be visit Mr. G's again when the boss gets another taste for nostalgia. read more

I just called to place a to go order on August 5, 2015 appx 6:50 pm. I give specifics as I hope you will address this issue with your staff. I used to live in Tuscaloosa and regularly ate at Mr. G's.This was when Mr. G's was fairly new to town and the female owner was usually there. This week I am in town and thought I'd give it a go. Called to place a to go order. Woman who answered the phone wasn't pleasant. Asked me to hold on and then proceeded to yell at someone about something...I took the phone away from my ear so her voice wasn't so loud. She asked me my name, I told her and she then started talking to someone else in the background. She addressed me again and asked if I said my name was "Tiffany." I told her no and gave her my name. I asked what was on the bacon and cheese salad. Which she told me--didn't sound great. She then sneezed in the phone, without comment or apology. I asked about the chicken tender salad and she hurriedly answered my question. At that point I told her to forget it and hung up. This employee's attitude seemed that she couldn't be bothered. Not sure if I will try this restaurant again. I will pass on my impression to others. read more
