It's pretty hard for me to give 5 stars, but this place deserves it. I have to say this is probably the best taco place I have been. Not exaggerating. Each taco has a good portion of meat and they all taste freshly cooked. The meat is also very soft and tender. The quality is also very consistent. It's always the way I remember it when I go. My favorite ones are the shrimp tacos, Al pastor and the barbacoa. I also like that they only use one tortilla. Many places like to use two and I think it's too much. The service is fast and the people there are extraordinarily nice. Very sweet and polite people and smile at you. It's always a pleasant experience. The inside is modern and clean. There's a few tables to sit and eat. The parking is usually easy to find. The plaza is not super big, but there's also not too many stores there. Small groups ok, but bigger groups probably too crowded. Will definitely come back!

Carne Asada taco and Papa taco

My husband and I came across Mr. G Tacos while craving tacos and exploring South OC -- so glad we did! Ordering online was quick and easy, and once we arrived, we decided to dine in after seeing how cute and clean the space was. They have great deals -- you can make any taco a combo for $3 more with rice and beans, which is a great value. We tried the carne asada and papa tacos -- both were delicious. The carne asada had big, flavorful pieces of meat, and at around $4.50 per taco, the pricing is very reasonable. The corn cup (Mexican street corn) was a standout -- so much flavor! The salsa was also excellent. The service really made the experience. We met "little Mr. G," who shared that it's a family-run spot -- super friendly and welcoming. Even the other customers added to the positive vibe. The location is great, and everything -- including the bathrooms -- was spotless.

If Mr. G's Tacos was closer to me, it would be one of my regular stops! I ordered their three tacos for $12.50 - chicken al pastor, barbacoa and potato. I have never seen a chicken al pasta and this was by far my favorite! Had I just stuck with the chicken al pastor, I would have given this place five stars. The barbacoa was decent and the potato taco was better than expected, thanks to the fried onions but definitely needed salsa. They do offer a variety of salsas (no salsa bar but already packed in containers). My husband got an al pastor burrito, which wasn't as big as the burritos he normally gets but was a lot cheaper ($11.50 vs $16). On Taco Tuesday, the three tacos are only $10.50. What a deal! Service was friendly. Support this small family-run business!

3 tacos with rice and beans

We ordered online - food was ready on time. Loved the variety of salsas that were included. We got the 3 taco combos - carne, grilled chicken, potato, chicken al pastor, Barbacoa - all were tasty. Rice and beans were outstanding - would prob order a larger side of the beans next time cause they were so delicious. The guacamole was okay - fresh but seemed like a lot of onions, tomatoes, etc and not so much avocado. Chips were nice and crispy.

Taquitos with real chicken! Not soggy and greasy!

The nicest staff every time we visit! Food is made to order and the freshest. Their chicken al pastor isn't greasy and all of their salsas are ! The lunch plate is soo worth it and comes with rice and beans. The entire place is spotless and it's a chill casual vibe. They even have a screen if you're trying to catch a game! Check them out if you haven't!

Hands down one of the best places for tacos in the area. We came in on a Friday right at opening and there wasn't many people. To be fair, it was "raining", and we pretty much had the place to ourselves. Super friendly service, and the woman at the front remembered my friend's name even after an hour, which we noticed. She was also super friendly and checked in on us periodically. I tried the three tacos: al pastor, barbacoa, and veggie. The sleeper hit was definitely the veggie taco. Actually, it was my favorite one of the three! I was delightfully surprised by the flavors, and the added crunch from the fried onions added a wonderful textural component to the taco. The al pastor and barbacoa were also pretty good. I like how the tortillas didn't fall apart, nor were the tacos dripping in sauce. Just the right amount. We ordered a side of chips and salsa and were intrigued when we were presented with a particularly spicy salsa option. Challenge accepted! It definitely had a kick and wasn't overwhelmingly spicy. Very tasty! We had 3 other salsas/dips that came with the chips - they were all pretty good. The restaurant itself is a decent size. Very clean, and I like how there's readily available filtered water. Prices are also really decent. I'll be back!

The carne asada burrito was so delicious. The rice was soft and the beans were so tasty. I'm so glad I tried out this place. We also got the barbacoa burrito and the meat was juicy. I met the manager and he was so nice and his son was so nice too And the bathroom is very clean Also I think this place is halal friendly, I did not see any pork on the menu, so that's good I guess

Basic dining area- clean and pleasant.

I was impressed. The carne asada soft taco's were very good. Tender steak and fresh toppings. Add a little kick with quality salsa, all sauces, and horchata that are all made in-house. Awesome family staff has you covered with whatever you need. Atmosphere is basic dinning tables and chairs, nice background music, and very clean. Looking forward to exploring the menu.

Lupe's Mexican Eatery has a surprisingly fulfilling array of appetizers, plates, and drinks, though…read morethe main draw for me are their stuffed and voluminous burritos. I've tried several of the burritos here for their size, flavour, and variety of ingredients, most memorably the Lupe's, Hot Cheetos, California and birria burritos. The Lupe's is stacked with steak and bacon, grilled onion and cilantro, jack cheddar cheese and Chipotle sauce AND guac, so you'll love it as the mash of distinct savoury flavours it is if you love each of those ingredients. It's filling and fills you with both strength and fatigue to prep for or recover from a day of hard work. 5.7/10. Hot Cheetos burritos are something you occasionally see around for some reason, and the one's here are solid, though I prefer the version available at Primo's by a solid margin. Lupe's Cheeto's burritos do have an interesting compressive texture that I strangely somewhat enjoy. 4.4/10. The California burrito is a standard and very solid rendition of a classic. I would put the Lupe's version at above average in quality as they're definitely not mediocre or disappointing. 5.3/10. The birria burrito is just as packed and filling as the other burritos, but tastes and feels significantly more fresh as it consists of a juicy but light birria steak, red beans, and LOTS of chopped cilantro and diced onions. In fact, it primarily tastes of the leafy green, so definitely avoid it if you're not a fan. I enjoy it, though it definitely feels lighter and less satisfying to eat than its less healthy, heavier siblings, and suffers from its birria juices settling at the bottom of the burrito to be largely untasted throughout the eating experience, possibly as there isn't enough of it provided. 4/10. This spot also has a good salsa bar with particularly tasty sauces. My favorites are the classic verde and another, pale green sauce with a creamy flavour, both of which go well with all meals to varying effect. I like how the tortilla chips feel a bit cakey- it's slightly hard to describe, but they're not excessively salty either and fun to eat as a receptacle for the delicious sauces here. A solid spot with a nice, comfortable and fun, kitsch decorated interior, solid burritos and a solid selection of menu items at fairly standard prices.

And they make it looks like a farmers market with about 3-4 businesses serving food and desserts :) Service was amazing they asked if we needed any thing and we were the only customers remaining so they were patient and didn't rush us at all. As someone of Mexican descent, I'm pretty particular about Mexican food. It's easy to tell when dishes are made with care versus just thrown together, and Chuponcito definitely falls into the first category. The shrimp in the enchiladas were perfectly cooked--tender, juicy, and not rubbery--and the green sauce was rich, flavorful, and balanced without overpowering the dish.
