Came here on a Saturday night with a friend and the place wasn't too busy! Plenty of seats in the restaurant and plenty of parking in the plaza. 1) Chicken: THIS IS GOOD. The garlic one has has this syrupy sauce of it which is very delightful. The outer layer isn't too thick and it has the right amount of crunch. 2) Ddeukbokki: This was was interesting. It seemed more of a fusion dish than a Korean dish because it had a pretty strong curry taste + vinegar seasoning. It didn't taste bad but it does not taste like regular old fashioned ddeukbokki. The curry and vinegar taste kind of grows on you. The rice cakes were very chewy! I don't know if I would order this again because it was such a unique flavor but I am sure some people will like it! read more

You can sit down and someone will come to your table and take your order, come up to the counter after and pay 3. The space is a little weird that its somewhere in between a fast casual/chipotle like spot, take out counter, and sit down in one. Overall very relaxed and casual so I'll take it but it was a little confusion at first walking in having to ask if we needed to get a table or go up and order. They have a QR code menu and ordering process which i understand for covid was great but it was more annoying then it needed to be. As far as the food goes its solid. We finally made it to Concord to try this spot. We went pretty late so there wasn't a wait. We were greeted be friendly staff and viewed the full QR code menu. We ordered the full order of wings with 1/2 garlic sauce and 1/2 Mr Lee sauce, the bulgogi plate, and japchae. Checked out the place while waiting- pretty nice setup with the TVs and pool tables. Food came out after about 20 min. We took it to go- got home quickly which was good cause the food was smelling really good! Nothing was bad. 1) parmesan chicken (loved the texture and the flavor) 2) garlic chicken (like the honey one with garlic, extra tasty) 3) honey chicken (fried chicken in honey, no complaints here. 4) spicy (it wasn't super spicy but I'm not a spice fan) Husband liked the spicy. He didn't get a chance to try the garlic or honey but liked the spicy for sure. My favorite side was the corn cheese then the onion rings. Sweet potato fries were good. Came here for a late lunch. We were Virtually the only patrons here. We ordered an assortment of food and beers. Since the chicken are fried when ordered it took some time to get it. We order half wings for $15.99 with Mr. Lee and Garlic sauce. The sauce added on $2 to our bill. I also ordered the spicy pork lunch special which was supposed to be $12.99 but got charged $14.99. I would give 0 stars if I could figure out how. The food isn't good. Even if it was half the cost, I wouldn't recommend. The bathrooms are absolutely disgusting. Looks like the floors haven't ever been cleaned. The toilet seat looks like it hasn't been cleaned in quite sometime. If you're looking for chicken that's crunchy, juicy, sweet and savory, look no farther! The Korean fried chicken here is just amaze balls! Mr Lee Chicken took over the old burger king in the Willow Pass plaza, so there's tons of parking on that end of the lot. If you're dining in, just grab a table (there are hella tables inside) and they'll bring you a QR code to scan. You just submit your order through the website and wait for all the yumminess to come to you! NGL (not gonna lie) I do not care for their dishware at all. They give you square metal trays to eat off of, total cafeteria vibes. It's like eating off a baking dish lol The presentation isn't the greatest but tbh, I much rather have my food taste good than look good, so in this case, we still have a winner. I like that they give you a pitcher of water so you don't have to wait around for a waiter to refill your drinks. The cups are also metal though... no straw, so there was a hint of metal every time I took a sip. Ratings: Corn Cheese - 10/10 This dish came on a foil lined cast iron pan, with a thick layer of broiled cheese on top. SO GOOD. If you're going to order anything, order this! The corn was the perfect amount of sweetness which paired well with the gooey mozzarella cheese. Dubboki (tteokbokki) - 7/10 I'm giving this one a decent rating because even though it didn't look appetizing, the flavor was on point. The sauce was very thin and watery so I didn't have high hopes. I prefer a thicker sauce to coat the rice cakes. They gave a good amount of fish cakes but these could have been sliced smaller. It also came with a little sprinkle of cheese but I think it could have used more, It was nice that they included a hard boiled egg but the egg was way overcooked, to the point where the yolk had that grey ring around it. It's just not appetizing to the eyes. If they offer a medium boiled egg, sliced in half, this would amp up the plating presentation a whole notch. If you're new to trying this dish, it's not a bad choice to try it here. KFC (korean fried chicken) - 8/10 We opted for the half and half. You get to choose 2 flavors but each flavor is like another $1 upcharge each. This means pricing of the chicken here is actually more than other KFC places but they don't have much competition in the area so I get it. Law of supply and demand. People want it, they'll pay for it. We wanted wings but it was a bit confusing because you could only choose 1 flavor but then opt for sauce on the side. Chicken should be sauced, so we opted for the half and half which allows you to choose up to 2 flavors for your chicken to be sauced with. Next time I'll just ask about the wings, but I didn't want to be a bother 1 hour before closing. On to the sauce! We chose half garlic and half Mr Lee sauce, which is supposed to be one of their most popular/best flavors. The Mr Lee flavor was better than the garlic but the spice level wasn't there for me. It didn't let us choose a heat level so next time I'll request spicy. I'm pretty sure it'd be a 10/10 if it was spicy! The garlic flavor was interesting.. I thought it was going to be a savory chicken but it was too sweet for my liking. This one was coated in a sweet glaze, with a subtle taste of garlic. It was also garnished with honey bunches of oats cereal lol So random, but I wasn't mad at it! I'd skip this flavor though. It's not for me. The half and half chicken comes with a little cup of pickled daikon radish which is great as a palate cleanser between flavors. These are whole chicken pieces, so you'll get some thigh, some drums, 1 wing for each flavor, and some chicken boobies. They cut the chicken boobs and thighs into smaller chunks though, so it's kind of hard to tell which is which until you bite into them. I think they have an all dark or all white meat option if you have a preference. They have a large menu with a bunch of chicken flavors, korean dishes, and sides to choose from. It's a solid spot if you need your korean fried chicken fix. The wait time was pretty fast for the chicken, about 15 min. This place has pool tables! This place is super casual and we definitely played while waiting for our food. Service is great and the guy who took my order was knowledgeable about the menu items. I ordered the black bean noodle, chicken wings, Kimchi, and spicy rice cakes. As far as Korean food goes, this place was really standard. It did exactly what it needed to--didn't wow me but was still fine. But the one dish that I'll definitely be back for was the black bean noodle. We decided to stop by after watching a movie. We've passed by this restaurant many times, but never had the chance to stop by. We usually order KFC from BonChon or a local Korean restaurant down in El Cerrito, Gangnam Tofu, so I was looking through their menu trying to find the flavors that are close to what we normally order. I love soy garlic, so I was looking at their menu to find a flavor that closely resembles it. We ordered to go: Half order Mr.Lee Half order Garlic Corn Cheese 2 white rice We ordered for to-go, but the restaurant was very nice and clean, especially since it's a new restaurant. Definitely would like to dine in next time. The cashier who rang me up was very friendly and welcoming. Upon checking my receipt, I notice that they charge 99cents for the flavors of the chicken. That's something I don't see at other places. The price is pretty average for a normal KFC order coming up at around $25.99 (excluding the flavor charge). Both flavors were really good. The garlic had a cornflake breading mixed in. Both flavors were very crispy and we enjoyed them both, but our favorite has to be the Mr.Lee special! It tastes like soy garlic with a hint of jalapeño! You've likely heard of KFC at this point. And no, I'm not talking about the one with the colonel. We're talking about Korean Fried Chicken. There are a variety of chains popping up everywhere in the Bay Area. And a lot of them are great. But even though Mr. Lee Chicken is not a chain, they stand far and above the rest in terms of quality, consistency, and standard. The price point itself for what you get is amongst the cheapest, especially with the check-in offer they currently offer for Yelp. The service is very friendly! They serve more flavors than most chains, including their own blends, but they were very patient with questions and even threw in some extras for us. Lastly, and most importantly, the chicken. It is far crispier, less greasy, and far more juicy than their competitors. I have been here a number of times since then to see if it was a fluke, and I can assure you it's not. The key is that they don't over-fry it, so it doesn't hold as much grease or dry out, and holds a superior crispness. The key trick to this is the perfection they hold with only frying it once, whereas many chains depend on the double fry to hold the crispness. The only downside is that if you don't consume it within roughly thirty minutes, it'll lose the superior crispiness it holds to a double fry method. But it still holds up pretty well! I'm not big into sweet sauces or powders, which many KFC joints double down on. If you're like me, I highly recommend the Jalapeño Chicken and the Mr. Lee Special in regards to the sauces. I was planning to start a good diet routine like many others at the start of the New Year. But then I discovered Mr Lee. So I do have some regrets... What a great find on a whim when we were craving for some KFC! You order via app so that was easy...the food came out pretty quick. We ordered the soy garlic chicken, mandoo, corn cheese, tteok-bokki, and shrimp tempura kimbap...and EVERYTHING was amazing. Hubby and I saw this place and decided to come in since the poke place next door did not have dining in available and it was a hot day. The service was prompt, as soon as we walked in the door someone told us to grab a seat anywhere. A server came to our table and presented us with the QR code to order from cell phone. Once we placed our order of 8 piece thigh dark meat special with sweet potato fries and rice, the server came right out with drinks and utensils and plate setting in preparation for our meal to come. Mr Lee Chicken is either a diner or a sports bar, depending on which half of the restaurant you want to sit in. When you walk in, you will be greeted by K-Pop music and a man running the front of the house. This guy is tall, lean, straight-laced, and no-nonsense, and he will get you some dang good fried chicken. He's like an MIB agent and this is just his cover. I can only assume this guy is Mr Lee and he runs the place, but maybe I'll find that out next time. We ordered a 24 piece half Spicy and half Honey Chicken wing platter, a kimchi pancake, an order of tteokbokki, and a salad. Also ordered two XL Pints. I've mainly had two types of Korean wings - almost no batter or a thick layer of batter, like tempura. Mr Lee has somewhere in the middle - a thin crispy coating. The meat is tender and flavorful. The Spicy wings were definitely spicy but delicious. The Honey wings were completely drenched in a honey flavored syrup. I was ripping the wings apart and dipping just to get more honey sauce on there. The pairing of wings and beer has stood the test of time. The beers are ice cold, super tasty, and really freaking big. My first pour had a lot of head and the MIB agent said that I could come back later and he would give me another partial pour. I took him up on the offer and between the two pours it easily cleared 24 oz. My wife wanted the tteokbokki (I did not), but I was pleasantly surprised. It was sweet, spicy, and fabulously chewy. The dish also comes with some thin strips of fish cake and a hard boiled egg. I would recommend it, but only if you have a pretty big appetite, since you would need to down all these carbs with your chicken wings. Kimchi pancake was thin and a little crispy. Solid dish, but not a must have side. Salad was fine if you need some roughage. I would describe it as a regular salad with balsamic vinaigrette except it comes with some shredded cheese, corn, and a cut up piece of katsu. Weird combo, but it works. Yum. So glad the fam and I got to try Mr Lee Chicken recently. We all love some that crunchy and flavorful Korean Fried Chicken! We placed an online order for around Noon on a Sunday, and they were packing up our order when we arrived. We got the following items - Half and Half Chicken - We chose half to be Yangnyum (sweet & spicy sauce) and the other half to be Garlic (garlic sauce). The yangnyum was for me and the garlic was for the kids. I really liked the yangnyum. It was flavorful, more on the sweet side than the spicy. I couldn't really taste the spicy aspect, but enjoyed it anyways. I think I'll go for their spicy chicken next time though. The kids enjoyed their garlic one since it didn't mention any spicy. Each piece was fried really well and was evenly cooked. The pieces kept its crunch. Chicken Wings - 12 wings. The wings were a great size! Nicely fried, still moist, etc. One odd thing was ordering these online since it made us choose at least 1 sauce before we could add the item to cart. We thought the wings would be coated in the sauce, but it was one thingy of sauce on the side. Still tasty though, so it was more of a dip for the wings if anything. Ddupokki - I didn't get to try this one, but it seemed that it was good because none of it was thrown away and no funny faces were made when this was consumed. Corn Cheese - YUM!!! I really like corn cheese and this one was pretty flavorful. The corn was good, and the amount of cheese was amazing. Nice and melty, and whatever they mixed the corn with was a good combo. This is the second time that I've eaten at Mr Lee's fried Chicken and, I've got to say it was even better than the first time. The first time I was with the fam. This time I came alone. And hungry. I recapitulate my claim that this is the best fried chicken bar none in the Bay area. Or whatever superlative you want, it's some of the best fried chicken I've ever had. I love not only that it's cooked fresh to order,  but that they brag about it on a big sign in front of the restaurant. The poultry arrives hot and saucy and steamy, smelling.... Mmmm. Snatch the thigh laying on top or go for one of the drumsticks sticking up from the bottom? That's your only dilemma now because it's time to eat. Inhale deeply and settle your thoughts. Mr. Lee fries chicken better than Mr. Sanders. No secret blend here. I'm sure he'll give you the recipe if you ask. Hot, saucy, sticky, messy, delicious goodness.  (Pro-tip: bring gloves and get ALL up it.) Scene: clutch the thigh. Admire. Dark golden brown exterior, crispy, golden brown, glistening, not oily. Sauced just enough with the perfect amount. (Or maybe you want it unsauced, they can do it). Are you still admiring? Eat already! Disregard the fork and knife and get primal.  This is a manual operation. Crunchy, crispy, saucy, piquant, sweet umami delicious and then the succulent meat underneath. The crunchy crust gives way to the soft, hot meat. Juices squirt and run. You just burned your mouth a little bit; it's the price you pay. There's so much craggly crispy crunchy goodness to bite through, and you haven't even gotten to the meat yet. The meat is perfectly seasoned and umami. You get that skin and that juicy liquefied fat that is under the skin. And the meat is perfectly cooked through and through. Super juicy, and oozing and running down your chin. There pieces stay crunchy, well to the meal and even a couple hours after. I'm all about the dark meat so I got the thighs and drumsticks. I wouldn't mind eating some wings but they seem to come with the white meat. So I ordered the four piece dark meats with the Mr. Lee's Chicken special sauce option. It's mildly piquant but not too spicy. Enough for the tingle and still cool enough to mingle. And then there are rings of fried jalapeño chile for those who want an extra spicy punch. (Way past tingle, feels like your face has shingles) The Yangnyum seems like an intersting sauce option which I'll probably forget to try because I tend to stick to what I know and like. The pickled onions, BTW are a nice touch. Even with all that chicken, I wanted some sides.  Seafood combo fried rice was unavailable the time so went with chicken fried rice. Rice was... meh. The corn kernels in there reminded me of frozen veggies and it just wasn't a hit... In any case I thought I would take it home for leftovers or for lunch at work the next day.  I also ordered onion rings came with like a ranch-ish dipping sauce thing. Crunchy and delish. Incidentally, it does take quite a long time to get your chicken. Since, as I mentioned, they cook it to order. So bring a lot of activities in the activity book for the kids or even better if you're on a date night or out on maybe second date with that special someone, the long wait time is going to give you a good chance to converse and play footsies and make promises you'll subsequently break. If you play pool, they have a couple pool tables and it looks like it could be a fun place to go with a small hungry crowd. Be nice to do a work party here. They sell beers and soju in tall bottles and frosty glasses. Get some apps, a few bottles of libations and start pouring drinks. You'll just be getting a nice buzz on when that chicken comes hot and steamy and crunchy and you'll have the drunk munchies. The last thing I'll say today about this place is I believe it's run by the proprietors, the owners, los doños. A husband and wife team? I don't know how often you see this, especially around here. I was wondering why this place sounded so familiar when I found it on Yelp but I have seen it every time I stopped by the Brazilian steakhouse! My family and I ordered the parmesan wings, garlic fries, Corn cheese, and ddukbokki. The Parmesan wings were good and they were surprisingly sweet. I wish we were able to add additional flavors to the wings, it would have been nice to have been able to eat multiple flavors instead of just 15 of the same flavor. The garlic fries were just okay nothing extraordinary about them. I always love corn cheese but I do wish the cheese were melted a little bit longer. We added ramen to our ddukbokki. Usually I'm not the biggest ddukbokki fan but these were very flavorful and there was actually a spicy kick to it. I would definitely be coming back to order these again! The customer service was amazing! We were helped immediately. We were given a QR code to order our food directly from our phones. The waitress was constantly checking up on us during our meal. She was so sweet and kind and even had a Japanese accent! Garlic chicken wings and mr lee chicken wings. I know the picture don't do it justice but ordered on the 5th around 6 ish and saved some for the day after and the chicken is still crunchy, even warmed up in a microwave. But if you have and air fryer I suggest do reheat in that. Garlic chicken had a strong garlic taste and surprisingly sweet.Mr lee chicken was also good sweet and and a little spice but not strong at all. I've been wanting to try this place because I LOVE some good fried chicken. Upon entering, I was surprised how big it is! It seems to have been 2 restaurants converted into one space. They do have a sports room area complete with big screen TVs. The other half is just a dining room. We ordered 24 chicken wings 1/2 Dark Sauce, 1/2 Honey chicken and some French fries. Everything was crispy and hot! The sauces were delicious! I do like that they bring a pitcher of water to each table and even have tiny trash cans on each table for chicken bones. Don't worry, they are cleaned out for each new customer. Realizing this is a new restaurant and they are still working out their kinks, I will give them a pass on how slowly the chicken came out. We were waiting a long time for it, and there weren't very many customers. Thank god the chicken was worth the wait. These are good sized chicken wings and not the small pathetic wings other places sell. The staff was attentive and doing the best they could, in fact they are still hiring! I would recommend changing the music though, they had rap/hip hop on and some of the songs were NOT kid appropriate. Great option for Korean fried chicken. Located where the Burger King used to be at the end of the plaza. Inside is very spacious with 3 big tvs playing sports. I liked that they have a lot of flavors for the chicken. I've tried the original which was nice and crispy. The yang nyum which isn't too spicy but a hint of sweet and the garlic chicken which is my favorite so far. They drizzle honey on it so it's a savory and flavorful combo. The dduckboki, rice cakes were medium spicy and had a good spice to them. Plenty of parking and open late. Nice and friendly customer service. Definitely will be back. read more

Newest KFC in town. Our order: ddukbokki, yangnyum and garlic fried chicken. Personal preference wise, Mr Lee Chicken didn't hit the spot - too much honey on the garlic fried chicken, barely tasted the garlic; yangnyum could be a little spicier and richer on the kick; not enough gochujang and thin sauce in the ddukbokki. But I am still giving them five stars since it is the new kid on the block and testing waters, and for its AWESOME service. Owner asked his servers to get immediate feedback from customers on the food so he can tune and refine the offerings. Server also told us that per owner, if you like dishes to be made a certain way, you can let them know ahead of time and they can adjust and accommodate your palette. Super excited to try this place! They have special combinations listed on the board for afternoon times (sorta like a happy hour). We ordered the whole chicken combo but didn't get what was listed on the board. The chicken itself was crunchy and good. The sides were not as published on the sign. We didn't get any cheese corn. We got chicken fried rice that was so dry and the rice didn't taste fresh. The portion was small as well. The fries was a combo of onion rings, sweet potato, and regular fries. The girl had told us it was just normal fries and nothing combo about it. There seems to be a misunderstanding or miscommunication about what's in the combos among the person working up front, and the board not accurately stating what you get. Overall, I'd probably just prefer their fried chicken which was crispy and tender. The sides need some improvement. read more

After shopping, my dad was hungry so we decided to give Mr. Lee Chicken a try. We ordered honey fried chicken, chicken katsu and a side order of sweet potato fries. Honey fried chicken - 5/5 The selection was a very good recommendation. The chicken wings of flats and small drums were fried perfectly. The meat was tender and the breading was crisp with the right amount of seasoning and just enough honey that was not overly sweet or wet. The price was on the higher side of norm, but we enjoyed this selection. I wouldn't hesitate ordering this again Chicken Katsu - 5/5 This menu item can be ordered with rice and a drink as a lunch special before 2:30p. The chicken was fried and battered perfectly. The batter was crisp and crunchy, the Katsu sauce was drizzled over the chicken Katsu. Some may prefer controlling the amount of Katsu sauce on their chicken Katsu. The sauce was not too tangy and blended well with the chicken. The chicken Katsu fillets were surprisingly big. My dad really like this dish. The sweet potato fries were good. The quantity could have been more for the price. Overall, the service was great and the chicken that we ordered was very good. Our server helped us decide on our selection. The food was good, but the experience was a little rocky. When there's a new Kr chicken place nearby, I gotta try it. I decided to check this one out after an evening at the movies. This is located at the old Burger King near the old Fry's. Because this is shopping strip, there is plenty of parking. I'm not sure if it's the first weeks of opening, but there were some problems. It was a hot night, and even hotter inside. I'm not sure if there just wasn't AC, or if it was just out of order, but it was hot. When looking at the menu, the items only had their names, I do wish that they had short descriptions to describe the actual flavors. There were also some things on the menu that I didn't completely understand, like what is the difference between the full priced flavors on the left side as opposed to the 12 and 24 piece on the right? And there are some special orders that arent listed like doing half orders or half and half orders. When trying to clarify some menu items, whom I assumed was the owner was having a hard time explaining it to me, so I just resorted to asking what the most popular items are. After some clarification though, I learned that they main sizes are either whole or half chickens, as opposed to wings/drums you'd get at most places. So this means you get wings/drums/and deboned breast/thigh. This approach is a great idea, because I like a little bit of both bone-in and boneless with my orders. I personally had the yangyum and garlic in a half and half order. They're both great! The fry on the chicken was perfect, probably better than most I've had in the area. Although they're covered in sauce, the breading still has great crunch to it. You also get a side of pickled radish and onions. The food is great, but the experience was a bit lacking. It was their first few weeks, so they've prob got things to iron out. I am excited to come back and try more of the menu though. I just wish that the menu was more clear from the start. read more
