This place is gross. We have been to Mr. Pampas in Las Vegas many times. This is supposed to be their sister restaurant. I think they just have the same name. It's horrible. It's true Brazilian rodizio style service but the food is not good. The salad bar was ok, there are a ton of selections but the food quality is lacking here. We were shocked. The servers were quick and friendly, that's why I'm giving one star with confidence. The first item presented to us was grilled shrimp, I love seafood. Unfortunately it was shrimp in the shell with all of the legs attached and the digestive tract wasnt removed. It's like they took shrimp out, put a stick in it and served us. You have to remove the digestive tract or you're just eating their poop they had inside of them when they died. We had 5 other cuts of meat. The chicken was under seasoned and dry, no thanks. The chorizo was ok and the only piece of meat I actually ate. Were do not know what the next few cuts of meat were. They were unidentifiable. Fatty, chewy and didn't get swallowed. They brought some ribs to the table and they looked sad and skinny. We declined to take any. At this point we did take one more cut of meat. No idea what it was. My girlfriend tried it and then asked me when we could leave. All of the food tasted like it had been cooked over a propane or low quality gas flame. Not cooked over wood or anything acceptable for humans. The restaurant was packed, they had a roaming mariachi band and the decor was nice. The bathrooms were clean at least. We got out of there very fast. We will never be back and I suggest you go to one of the other few hundred restaurants in Ensenada. This was the low point of our trip. We took a nice nap and had our stomachs ready for a delicious dinner. We were very disappointed. We ate somewhere else when we left here and actually ate the food. This place is a waste of money. Our first place of choice was closed ( moving to new location) so we came here and was very surprised and relieved we found a great spot for a tasty meal of Brazilian meats and a buffet of wonderful salads , cheeses & meats, soups, desserts everything you name it! Wow, the food here is amazing. The cuts of beef were so good. I am not typically a buffet AYCE type of guy but everything here was so good. Which is typically my problem, I eat too much. I will say they had a shredded cheese covered plantain and it was so damn good. They have plenty of desserts at the bar that are included in the price of the meal but anything they bring to your table [except for the meats] is an adder. Our coffee's at the end and my coworkers Cokes were all added to the bill. The one thing I wish they would do was label what is at the bar. The service and ambiance was up to par I guess a good place to go if you have something to celebrate, minus the food ‍. The food and salad bar are questionable, corn was not cooked well, cheese was hard as a rock, desserts were hard nothing was tasty. I wouldn't recommend this place if you're used to an authentic Brazilian restaurant. The meat they advertised was not served, and the meats that served was not pleasant, the meat tasted as if it was cooked over a propane grill which you can taste when you try the meat. The shrimp still had the shell on and the digestive tract was still present. The only thing that was tasteful was the garlic bread and their natural lemonade. First, we checked in with the hostess & although we did not have any reservation, they sat us down right away for a party of 2. They were busy because it was graduation season. They had a good selection of food for their buffet/salad bar and seemed to be always refilled. Drinks were extra but not bad. The quality of food was good for a decent price. Usually all you can eat Brazilian grills / churrascos are about $45-80 in LA but they were only about ~$20 here! Amazing! Just hope they were more attentive with the meats going around tho. We had to wait a little for the first meat to come to us. I liked their picanha, sirloin and Trompo Chicharrón de Rib Eye. Other meats were a little dry. It helps that you can also request for other cuts/meats that you would like. I love grilled pineapple with cinnamon but from Mr. Pampas, I thought that they overcoat it with cinnamon so it was a little overpowering to my liking as they very thinly cut the pineapple. Visiting Ensenada is generally about the seafood, but don't sleep on an opportunity to visit this steakhouse. The service was incredible and the salad bar was always fully stocked, with a wide variety of salads and appetizers. Ok, so you probably don't think of Brazilian BBQ when visiting Ensenada, Mexico but it's worth trying after you've had your fill of local specialties such as tacos and ceviche. Ensenada has most of the major international foods at great new restaurants so it may be time to try new things so off we went. We heard it was expensive but for males it was around $17 and $15.50 for females. All of us considered this a good deal for all you get-but you want to come hungry! They have a cool sign that spins to No when you don't want the meat servers to come by or Yes when you are ready for meat. We started at the massive salad bar. There was really everything from soup to nuts-well, sunflower seeds for your salads. You can get just the buffet for less money-a deal to me since it has enough for a full meal; it has salads, soups, sushi, seafood salads, some meat dishes, and some desserts like rice pudding (really good) with cinnamon, fruits-the watermelon was very good, and a few others. The fideo de pollo soup was so good I could eat this alone for lunch with bread or a small salad. There was one pasta salad that was a bit warm-so we just skipped it. I'm not sure what qualifies a place as a Brazilian BBQ but the meat is grilled to a delicious caramelized brown with tasty char marks. They have maybe 50 different meats that they alternate (see list on sign in photos). We saw approximately 20 different ones (2 per server on a double spit) and we tried most of them in our group. The nice thing is that you can ask for just a small amount to try before then get your favorites afterward. We had to top it off with a small bowl of rice pudding and watermelon. We had more than enough to eat and felt satisfied by all the different tastes. The servers were wonderful and helpful, explaining the different meats. Though having a bit of Spanish really helps but you can tell pretty easily the chicken, chorizo, beef and pork. The only meat none of us had here was tripe (tripa) and tongue (lengua) even though we all had those in tacos. I highly recommend trying Mr. Pampas. It has so many items to try that it is a good deal. Service is great and the ambiance is nice. read more

We had a great time at Mr. Pampas. The servers were generous and delivered our food promptly. Anytime we needed something, they would be at our service. The salad bar had a huge variety of foods and desserts. The ceviche in the salad bar was delicious as well as the ice cream (delicioso!). Not to mention, the 25+ different meat delicacies they offer and bring to your table. You'll get full really quickly so make sure you come starving. It's a great ambient; sometimes they have live music & mariachi which is great because me and my husband love to salsa! They have over 20 types of meats, as well as two types of chicken, shrimp, octopus as well as a pretty extensive salad bar. Their salad bar has fruit. Yellowtail sashimi, different cold salads, caldo de pollo and desserts. We paid $30 for two adults which includes a very strong margarita. I usually love this place. The one in TJ is awesome. This location in Ensenada is TERRIBLE. 1st The service was awful.. took at least 20 min for waiter to acknowledge us to order a drink. We asked for a dirty martini with grey goose vodka because he said it was an option, they brought one with Gin. It Tasted awful. When we asked the waiter about returning the drink he said well yea, we made it with Gin, it's usually made with Gin, sorry. Then we said just bring us a rum & coke.. waiter asks white or anjeo, we asked for white, waiter came back 15 min later to say they didn't have blanco rum.. ugh. Asked for water 3 times before we got it. 2nd the food was AWFUL. the first cut was stuffed chicken breast.. it was super dry.. some of it was burned.. basically almost all the cuts of meat were over cooked or charred. Tough to eat. There were only 2 cuts that were ok. We asked for the shrimp & it never came. The waiter hardly checked on us at all. It was a terrible experience. I've eaten at lots of US churrascarias and one in Sao Paulo Brazil. Mr. Pampas ranks right up there with one of the best ones I've been to. And to have a rather gigantic lunch (until 7 PM) for 200 pesos for men (less for women and kids) you have one heck of a deal. At the time I visited (4/15) that was under $13 per person. Other reviewers might have said that $25 a person (more of their peak-season pricing) would be to expensive, but I beg to differ. Take a look at the buffet pictures and tell me that this is not enough all by itself. Fresh fruits, cheeses, salads, and much more await you. BUT, if you want/crave meat, they have it, and don't seem to care if your table flag is Green (Go, give me more) or Red (Not ready). While not every cut was the moist and tender, like the chicken cuts, the most successful were the beef cuts. We also liked the grilled cinnamon pineapple and most of what was offered. but honestly, you will be stuffed to the gills (unless you are a vegan/vegetarian--but even then you would still have lots of choices). By all means, you MUST try the best of the best: the C-Shaped Picanha (pronounced pee-Con-ya) which is a "cap of top sirloin" or "rump cap". In every churrascaria, this is THE signature barbeque dish and should not be missed. Service was very good and the vast selections made this a fantastic value that would normally be $35-65 per person in the US. We will return later this year on our cruise stop-over at (the otherwise forgettable) obligatory stop at Ensenada. read more

This place was delicious, a family of 5 ate for $60, and my 4 year old ate for free. Very delicious food, ambiance was amazing! We had decided on a afternoon trip to La Bufadora noticed thus place on the way and checked Yelp it had great reviews so on way home we had a late dinner. Parking was fairly easy, we were seated right away, drinks served (no refills). Then the meat started coming, some great food, they even serve octopus! Since we arrived after 7pm there was a significant drop in price yet the restaurant was still bustling with activity. I enjoyed the fact that the prices were staggered according to Man, woman child and under a certain height they were free! I would definitely come back here again. I was here on 8/23/20. They had all the safety things in place. But, when I started eat first the pork I had off the salad bar had a whole bag of salt in it. Then I had boil cauliflower and they are rotten. Then I had beef ribs that they bring to the table cut pieces is also rotten. Beef ribs on the sticks were dry and overcooked. There were not a lot of different meat there were only couple. I expect better food for the amount of money I spent. I would of enjoy a street tacos and much better and safer. I hope I don't end up with a stomachache later. One thing for sure.. Never again! read more

Hands down the best restaurant in Ensenada! I can't say enough about this gem. The service is impeccable. Everything on the buffet table was fresh and delicious. As long as your dial is green, the meats come by at a very fast pace. The best part for me is you can ask for as much or as little as you want. Works out great if you are trying something new to just get a small piece until you know if you like it or not. Sweat breads is one example. I actually tried it and would recommend you to try it too. Excellent dessert selections. We were lucky enough to have live music during our meal making for excellent ambiance. If you only have time for one nice meal, you should definitely consider Mr. Pampas. read more

Great food, atmosphere and fabulous service. They have a little table sign that says "si" or "no" and you flip it to the yes or no sign depending on how you are feeling. They will bring you a seemingly endless selection of perfectly seasoned meats while your sign is placed in the "yes" position. Once you are full or if you want a break you simply flip it to the "no" sign. It had a fun and lively vibe with so many delicious options that you should definitely stop by if you are in the area.
