I got all the free toppings (garlic sauce, mayo, mustard, pesto, lettuce, tomato, pickles, onions) except peppers. The sandwich was delicious and filling. I was expecting the chicken breast to be dry/stringy, as chicken breast tends to be most of the time, but it was so juicy and tender. If you told me it was chicken thigh, I would've believed you. Overall, all of the flavors and textures went well together and I appreciated the fresh lettuce that was crunchy and not soggy. We ordered two sandwiches 1) The Tuscan - Fresh Mozzarella, tomatoes, spinach, with Balsamic glaze and Olive Oil on a Wheat roll. This had two slices of cheese, some basil and barely there fresh mozarella cheese. It was still warm though the bread was not toasted 2.) Big Mike- Chicken breast, Basil pesto, Garlic sauce, and melted Jack cheese. The bread was cold though the everything inside was warm. This had some pesto sauce with some melted cheese and a few pieces of chicken. The chicken was very juicy and tasty. But for $13 a piece it was not great value for money. The chicken sandwich was quite cold while the cheese one was warm. Looks like they made the chicken one first and it sat for a while till they completed our order. We ordered in the store and it look almost 15 mins for two sandwiches that didn't need to be cooked just put together. It was a long wait. They were not great to look at. I took pictures but they look like someone put it together in a jiffy. I've never been to a Mr Pickles where the workers don't acknowledge you. That changed today. I went in to an empty restaurant and three workers. They were busy making sandwiches for an order but did not greet me and my friend as we came in. We were looking at the menu and watched the workers continue to make sandwiches, not asking if we ready or if we had questions. I walked over to the register and stood there with my chips and drink, nothing. One worker walked up to the register and started gathering receipts. My pick from their menu was the Napa Nibbler, which came with vegan chicken, mushroom, cilantro pesto, avocado, a creamy House sauce, tomato, and spinach. You can easily customize, and I chose to have this on sliced dark rye bread and with additional veggies too! The vegan chicken chunks had a deep-fried crust, and while the different sauces all sounded appealing, they turned out rather bland. This deli is quite small. I think most people seem to order here for delivery or pickup. Their menu is pretty large. I'm a boring sandwich person so I got the house combo with turkey, salami and ham, and cheese. I added the garlic sauce, Mayo, lettuce and tomatoes. I got sourdough bread. The outside of the bread was pretty hard and a bit difficult to eat. I felt like my teeth were gonna fall out after I bit into the bread. The actual dough part is chewy and soft. I just wish the crust was slightly less hard so it wouldn't hurt my teeth and jaw so much. The inner parts of the sandwich were pretty good though. The sandwiches I ordered, were so uninspired/poorly constructed they looked like something you could get at a gas station or a hospital cafeteria but with a cost of almost $20 dollars with tip included. I had to use the restroom and went through the kitchen and I was disgusted by the unsanitary conditions. Their dutch crunch crunchy outer coating is crisp but just soft enough that it doesn't scrape or hurt your mouth while you're eating it. Delicious! Whatever you do, do it with garlic sauce and pesto sauce on it. I'd also recommend having your sandwich served hot (which is actually warm temperature). Mr. Pickles is open for take out during COVID and the service is great. Definitely worth a stop in! I've become a big fan of their Tony Soprano! I've been to this Mr. Pickle's twice now and had the Tony Soprano once on a "Dutch Crunch" roll and the 2nd time on a sweet roll. There is nothing crunchy to their dutch crunch, it was flat and soft, not that I'm an expert on bread but the dutch crunch that I've had before has always been tough and very crunchy. This sandwich for ~$9.50 is loaded with my favorite italian meats topped with pesto and G-sauce (their garlic sauce). YUM! The staff are usually pretty friendly. I parked nearby without trouble. They have the five stars program, punch in your phone number each time if you plan to become a regular, I think the 13th sandwich is free.
