Just outside The Art Institute of Chicago several food trucks were standing. I wanted a bite of something prior to entering so as not to rush out of the museum "hangry." The trucks were offering a platter of 3 Quesabirrias for $18, or another said 3 for $16. I just wanted one and the 3d and final truck I approached agreed to sell me a single for $5. It was delicious, just the right mix of beef and melty cheese for dipping into a beefy broth, with raw onion and cilantro on the side with a delicious green sauce. Hit this truck up. read more

Be prepared to drink a lot of water if you come here! Their tacos/tostadas are pretty good, but VERY salty. I made the mistake of eating all this without any water in hand... still enjoyed the flavors though and at least the toppings helped balance the flavors. Other than the fact that my mouth was as salty as the Sahara Desert, the food was still enjoyable/really affordable and the workers were super kind. Not sure what happened with most of the other negative reviews and experiences on here but didn't happen with me. I caught the food truck yesterday on Adams and Wacker near my job. I got 3 steak tacos with just cilantro and onion and 1 ground beef taco with everything (lettuce, tomato, sour cream, cheese, etc.) The steak tacos were some of the best I've ever had! The tortillas were were soft, hot, and tasty. The steak had a great seasoning and were perfectly tender. They put just the right amount of cilantro and onion on it. They also came with tiny cups of salsa verde the looked like it may have also been mixed with a hint of lime. It was so good. The ground beef taco was just average but the steak tacos were so good I didn't even care. I can't vouch for any other items but I HIGHLY recommend the steak tacos. read more

This was an alright food truck that participates in the "Tuesday's on Lasalle" lunch special by the board of trade building in Chicago. The burritos are very filling and $8 which doesn't seem bad since the other trucks are like $10-$11 for a burrito, plus the give you a good amount of hot sauce cups. Only thing I disliked is that the steak has so much grease it's crazy, literally dripping out of the burrito. I'd recommend but you probably should get one of the other meats instead of the steak if you have a sensitive stomach. read more

Just tried them for the first time today. They were parked by the NBC building on City Front Plaza. Got 2 steak w/onions, cilantro, cheese & tomato. They were AMAZING I tell you! I'm not one to write reviews on Yelp, but this taco truck always parks on Monroe and Michigan near my job. I've given it two chances already, but I can vouch that their tacos/ tortas are awful. Today I ordered the Torta de al pastor. The meat was super tough, salty. It really didn't taste like al pastor since real al pastor is made on a "trompo" in front of a flame. Be sure to note that everything on it includes lettuce tomato cheese etc. you can ask for the authentic onions and cilantro only. Steak isn't crispy or anything but overall it's good. Parked on Taylor street... Terrible service. I waited 10 min for two tacos. any other truck would have had me on my way in less than two min. No cold soda on 90 deg day. Though I could see warm cases of pop on the side. They must have been too busy to stock the cooler, even though I was the only customer there. The usual Mexican food truck I love wasn't on Clark and Adams in its usual spot but Mr Quiles was so I decided to give it a try despite my spidy senses. I should've listened to my extinction because me and my co worker both got the al pastor and it was terrible. The meat looked anything but fresh and flavor was not what al pastor is supposed to be. They have a decent ground beef burrito however if they kicked up the seasoning on the meat they'd have a good ground beef burrito. Currently it's a little bland. Was very excited when i saw the Mr. Quiles Food Truck in the loop area since I had a taste for Mexican food but once i had my food, I was so disappointed. The beans were refried beans from a can! Being Mexican they couldn't fool me so instantly i tasted the difference. Sadly, the beans were not authentic. The people working there were so friendly I have no complaints beyond the refried beans from a can. Please consider adding authentic beans to your menu, i'm sure it will pay off. read more
