This is our THIRD slab leak, so we are experts, and the last 2 were nightmares. C&C came quickly, told us exactly what needed to be done and gave us a quote that was far under the last 2 leaks. When they reached the leak, they went above and beyond to make sure everything around the leak was repaired and in good working shape. (Instead of just repairing a 1-inch spot where the leak was, he replaced the entire visible pipe). They refilled the hole, repoured the concrete and held to their quote. The workmen were professional and educated. They took the time to show us what they had done (beautiful work) and what we needed to do going forward. They let us know that they don't advertise - so if you are in the Dallas area this should be your plumber. They quickly diagnosed the problem, did some digging, and confirmed the problem before they started doing the job. I had a major leak in my freshwater line to the house. The repair quote was a lot (although certainly reasonable), but fortunately, I had insurance to cover the sewer and the freshwater and gas lines. If you don't have this, you'd be crazy not to get it. It's cheap, and it saved me $5250. The team from Zoom went to work quickly. This was a several-day job over the weekend, but they still got it done. They also unclogged and outgoing internal line to the sewer. The crew was professional and very effective. Robert, the supervisor, was checking on the job frequently, and he talked to me a lot about what was going on and how the job was taking place. I felt fully informed as the job is progressing. My insurance company took a little too long to pay for it, but Robert was notably patient. Hopefully, your insurance company will pay faster. The job was done extremely well, we had only a minimum of inconvenience (although we had to leave the water off unless we used it, since it would fill the trench they had dug). In summary, Zoom did a great job. They were all professional, focused, very timely, and responsive. I feel fortunate to have found a new plumbing company that I can use with confidence. Having your waterline go out is no fun, but the guys from Zoom handled it quickly, professionally, and effectively. Shower cartridge (located behind the shower handle) was bad so I called them to come out and they…read moresaid there was a service call charge of $67.50 which would not be charged if they did any work. So they sent a guy out and they charged a whopping $272 plus tax just to replace a simple plastic shower cartridge that probably took about 15 minutes to replace. They also replaced a cheap small plastic handle that I did not ask them to replace. Charges breakdown: $125.00 - Labor $80.00 - Parts (for a plastic cartridge that cost $31 at Home Depot) $67.50 - Other charges (added in the service call charge). So I was not supposed to be charged the service call charge; however they added it in & when paid them by credit card I had not seen the breakdown yet. Made numerous phone calls and kept getting promises that they would reimburse me for the service call charge but they kept stringing me along and wouldn't send it. Guess they got tired of me calling and did eventually send it but it cost me a lot of time and frustration. To top it off, about six months later the cartridge they installed went bad and had to hire another plumber to come out and replace the one Enco had installed. He never explained the cost of the units, nor did he mention the travel time will increase that cost by 147.0% to $499.89. Had he done so, I'd have paid the $237 and wrote it off to experience. I'd still have to hire a different contractor but I could get a fair cost estimate b/c I then knew what I was dealing with. Your service took unreasonable advantage of me in multiple ways. The applied travel time to obtain the faucets and their markup costs are exorbitant. The exact part from many vendors is listed online and available locally at a retail price of $36 to $48. In my offer I marked that retail price up 30% over retail cost. Total Plumbing cost was actually less b/c Total Plumbing buys in quantity, to receive a substantial discount. Further, there are less costly, equally effective though perhaps uglier, versions for even less from Total Plumbing vendors. Please refund $145 to my account. If this remedy is not provided, then I never again will use your service, and I will tell my experience to others. Too often, unscrupulous contractors seek to take advantage of elderly customers. I learned now this is NOT simply a misunderstanding by the worker and/or others about fair and reasonable costs, it was an effort to do otherwise.
