We called medley to try and come out around 5:00 PM, the lady told me they didn't have anything until the following, day mid afternoon. We were so surprised that the owner, Texas, called us after hours to walk my husband and I through how to fix it over FaceTime for over a half an hour, that way we could have AC that night. Sure enough, we were able to get it fixed due to his excellent instruction! We were so grateful he went above and beyond for us and said he was happy to help at no charge. I have nothing but great service from Medley. I've been pleased with the work they've done, although I would think I could get better pricing elsewhere. The quality of work Medley does is what causes me to call on them time and again. They've changed my duct work and my HVAC unit. As far the Trane variable speed unit I purchased--especially at the high price I paid--does not seem to be doing as well as I expected. I know that HVAC guys will say that as long as it has a 20 degree differential from the outside temperature, it's doing its job. Well, frankly, my 30-year-old train cooled much better even though it wasn't running at the full 5-ton. While I love doing business with Medley, I'm not a fan of this new Trane unit. read more

I'm updating my rating to a three because I do have a lot of respect for any owner that would respond to a review as quickly as this owner did to mine. Although, the message we left at the office went unanswered. We did call outside regular business hours. But it would have been nice if whoever was in charge of our project had left a number we could reach them at if we had questions or concerns. Anyways, Tex did reach out quickly after I wrote my review. I've posted almost 100 reviews here and never had that happen. That being said ... having processes and procedures in place at any company - that are adhered to - goes a long way in ensuring good communication, preventing under or miscommunications, and keeps everyone on the same page and sets proper expectations. The normal plumber we use probably over communicates which I don't think is a bad thing. We know up front what we're facing, we get a written estimate for the work they plan to do (obviously not including anything unexpected they might run in to while doing the work), we know at what point in the process they are going to expect payment, and were informed of what's happening at each stage. So maybe they've set the bar high and our expectations are unreasonable. But I think our experience with this company would have been much, much better had the communication been better. read more

We called Medley Plumbing for an after hours call. They quoted $350 for a 20-30 minute job. We thought, well, okay. I asked for one little favor...don't use the same part...(cost was about $5). He said it would be an additional $275 to use add a $5 part. I asked to speak with his manager. The manager wouldn't budge. I'm incredibly impressed with the professionalism and 'cool' of the technician (Brett P) that came out in the heat of the July afternoon today. Reflecting the opposite of me (hot after a night of no A/C), he was completely chill and definitely knew what he was doing. He didn't talk down to me about "proper maintenance" like most companies do; I know a little (enough to fix or at least troubleshoot nearly all of it before I need a tech), and I felt respected with the things I had tested prior to their arrival. The unit needed a new fan motor, but since this wasn't your bog-standard fan motor, it required Brett calling a few places to see if one was in stock for a quick turnaround due to the greater than 100 degree temps we've been having. One was found, and a follow up install was scheduled for first thing tomorrow morning. Not cheap, but it's "what I paid for" when I got the unit I did 10 years ago. Will be worth having the house not be at 86 degrees (thank goodness for relatively new attic insulation and new roof recently)! I took a chance on Medley after seeing some people mention them by name and giving good reviews. There was a leak/wet spot showing up on our ceiling. It was right below the HVAC so I was worried there was a leak. Texas evaluated the system and didn't find a leak in the HVAC. But he didn't stop there. He spent a further 45 minutes trying to figure out where the leak could be coming from. Eventually he found very small drops of water dripping from the roof which were hard to see unless you knew what to look for. On the spot he got me set up with a roofer that will come out to fix the roof. He documented everything via video showing the path these droplet of water were taking. read more

Well, it happened. The week before the 4th of July the 5 ton AC that handles the downstairs of my house died. 11 year old Goodman with a 10 year warranty went to AC Heaven. Coil and condenser needed to be replaced. The upstairs AC was working and Medley was taking care of emergency customers with NO AC so it took 5 days for them to make it to my place for the install. If you want to appreciate AC, try not having it for 6 days in Texas. Everyone from the tech who came out to try and fix the original to the 4 guys who did the install were professional and courteous. Each introduced themselves when they came in and they managed to get the old unit out and the new one in without damaging anything in my house. They got it installed and working in about 5 hours. When the cold air came on I swear I heard angels sing. They put a system in at my in-laws house 3 years ago and my house today. Great company and fantastic people. read more

We had our air go out and it was extremely hot out - so because of all the Nextdoor reviews we called Medley. They initially fixed it for $450 and told us our system needed to be updated for any where from 12k -16k plus need all new duct work for 8K. The system worked less than 12 hours - they sent Angel back and he told me there was nothing he could do to help us. We had to get a new system! Of course, they would finance;| I did not trust this and called one of our vendors (I'm in roofing). He came out and found he had loosened some valves and left duct work open in the attic. So of course it didn't work. Tim Cook fixed it and charged us $250. We were not refunded the $450 from Medley ( was told they would credit if we purchased a new system) and have reached out multiple times and promised a call back from Tex, the owner. They have made 0 attempts to make this right, which is very disappointing. We have waited several months to review to give them the opportunity to make it right. Today they installed a spanking new Trane HVAC system, helped me get set up to control the system on my phone, cleaned up every shred of mess they might have made, honestly leaving my garage cleaner than it had been before their arrival, and went the extra mile by having another employee bring out some brick blocks to place under the concrete slab holding the AC unit outside so it wouldn't become unstable with rain and washout in the future. Also they provide many payment options which is very helpful for this unexpected timing, since AC unit replacement is pretty costly! But I thought it's going to be part of my asset, not just expense, so I wanted to buy reliable, good quality unit from trustworthy company, even though another company gave me a little less estimate. 2 business days later, technicians came to install the new AC unit. They were also polite, and explained well about the unit to me. They completed the work without wasting time or damage. The entire process was very smooth and comfortable. I woke up on a Sunday to my AC not cooling. I did a quick Google search to see who was open and working on Sundays, and I saw that Rescue Air had good reviews and could be to my house within the next couple of hours. Their guy showed up, told me I needed a whole new system (it is pretty old) and quoted me $8,000 for my 1100 sqft. townhouse. I had a mild freak out and called my dad. My dad then called a couple of guys, one quoted him $6,500 over the phone and the other guy said he'd come by and check it out when he finished the job he was on. That guy was Texas (Medley). He was over within the hour, and I realized he had helped me with my AC a couple of years ago (his memory is better than mine). He opened it up and immediately found a big hole in the starter. He replaced that for $200 and we were back up and running in no time. He also quoted me $6,000 to replace my AC unit when it's time.
