The prices felt a little high, I don't know the area that well, but it is a hotel bar so there is the convenience if you are staying at either of the hotels there (which I was). That being said, it was a really nice spot, the staff was friendly and helpful, and the food was very good. I was hangry when I got there and there were individual bar snack jars out which was nice. The beer was cold and served in frosted glasses. I had the steak Gorgonzola flatbread which the bartender recommended - the flavors were amazing. It could have used a little bit of a crisper crust, there was a good amount of toppings (a good thing!) but the crust got soggy as far as being able to pick it up. Went for an early dinner here on a Friday night. We got the fried pickles (which were good but no pic because we were so hungry). We got the meatloaf and the ribeye. Everyone was very friendly and the food was delicious. Would go again to try other dishes! read more

The service here was terrible. The food was acceptable but we won't be back due to service, and the worst part was bc our party was bigger she made 80 bucks for doing nothing. Had to ask for refills multiple times- kept forgetting , didn't even say good night or thank you . Missing salad. Didn't check on us much at all. The tables around us sat dirty the entire time we were there . Other tables were complaining about the service. Definitely won't make this mistake of going there again , especially for terrible service with automatic gratuity. Saw other complaints on Google but I see the owner doesn't take much responsibility and makes up excuses . For such an expensive place , you need some better servers. read more

Well, this was a surprise! Hidden away in a Best Western hotel off the main drag in Matamoras PA! It was really good and the service was excellent. We had a large group of 10 ladies for lunch; all separate checks. I had the jalapeño popper burger and it was very good. I just wish there were more jalapeños and seeds so it had some spice. My husband and I are eating lunch at Mr. Shane's in Matamoras PA. When the owner's wife bring in a dog that's shaking, and then the dog shaking his hair into the kitchen where they cook food is deplorable and disgusting. My third time eating at Mr. Shane's since it's opening a year or so ago. We had a family get together and chose this place for their amazing cuisine, and they did not disappoint! They are hands down the best in the North eastern PA/NY area, and since the moved from a little farther into the NY side, we will continue to commute. Waitress and kitchen staff are polite and friendly and the chef did interact with us for our meal. You can't get this high end level of meals and service without making the trip to NYC and spending significantly more! We checked into the Best Western and decided to take advantage of this restaurant in the hotel. What a good decision. My sister looked up the menu on line and gave us her order for her and her 4 year old so that the food would be ready when they came in. We ordered frickles (fried pickles) chicken tenders for my nephew, a hot lobster roll, a crab cake sandwich and a shrimp scampi flatbread. We all enjoyed our food. Service was fast and really pleasant. Our lovely server understood dining with a 4 year old and kept things moving. For dessert we had a hot chocolate chip cookie sundae, a tiramisu and ice cream with sprinkles. It's a nice space, with an outdoor deck which must be great in warm weather. read more

Went out for dinner and we're extremely disappointed- my sever must have asked the bar tender to bring a drink to my table, to say she was annoyed about it was an understatement. She dropped drink off with with no straw , which fine but she grabbed my empty drink and all I said was "o wait a minute" so I could grab the straw from my empty glass, she turned and slammed the empty glass at end of my table and walked away. I was sooo shocked I turned to say "thank-you" and what she mumbled under her breath was so disgusting that I decided to get up and leave. The sad part is, is that my child was at the table to witness this behavior and we were there because it WAS my daughters favorite spot. We have been to Mr SHANES twice in the last few months. The service and the food are Just WONDERFUL ! I had the raw seafood plate both times. Clams Oysters and Huge shrimp. It was served on a huge Ice filled bowl and was out of this world. My wife had the bacon cheese and mushroom burger and she raved about how good it was. The sweet potatoe fries are tops.
