To say this restaurant's location and exterior is unassuming is very much an understatement…read more Inside, it is beautiful and has a wonderful ambiance. It was most unusual that our party of four all ordered the same. We started with a special app - Fried Shrimp & Calamari. Soo Delish! We followed with the signature dish, Cod Fish & Chips. I have had this entree in, I'd estimate, 50 restaurants, including several in England where I think it originated. NONE even come close to here! Oh My - the two big, thick pieces of lightly battered fresh cod fried to perfection! Flaky, moist and delectable. It just doesn't get any better! Wow! The fresh, hand-cut thick fries were again fried to perfection. Golden crispy on the outside, moist and tender on the inside. I don't know what their secret frying technique is or the type of oil they use but the flavor is light and delicious. Even their homemade coleslaw tastes like they just made it - so fresh with a little tang - Mmm! We ended with a very unique lemon flan, even though we all said we couldn't eat another thing. Overall, portions are generous (we took home some left overs!), service staff were friendly and attentive, and the Owner & Head Chef, Elmer came out to check on us and tell us some of his culinary encounters with blue fin tuna. Fascinating! A most enjoyable meal and experience. If you've never been, What the heck are you waiting for!

Chef Elmer works magic in the kitchen and behind the bar in this intimate setting designed to make you feel like the important guest you are. I went for my birthday last week and was fortunate enough to get to witness a Chef's Tasting event. The food my husband and I ordered for our meal was amazing, but now I have to go back for a tasting. If you haven't been, get there. If you're not interested in gourmet dining, enter through the door on the right, and get the fish and chips. They're the best I've had in the US. Either way, unless you have an aversion or allergy to seafood, it's a must do. Thank you Chef for a spectacular birthday meal and experience.

Hubby and I came here a couple of weeks ago and had to come back with friends…read more Our server remembered us and made us feel so welcome! My friend and I got the mason jar peach sangria. Light and refreshing! The guys all got Guinness-because it's the right thing to do at a pub. I recommended the Guinness Beef stew to my friend and he was delighted. He said it was so tender and delicious. He didn't leave a single drop on the plate. I loved the stew but wanted to venture out and got the crab stuffed flounder. It was the right amount of fish with a light buttery sauce and perfectly cooked veggies. I almost always take food home but it was portioned so well that only left some rice. The server said his mom's favorite was the Gaelic Chicken so one friend who isn't always adventurous tried it and loved it. Ironically he lives in the area and had not been here before but now plans to come more often be use of the great vibes and two bars. My other friend got the Rueben with fries and Thoroughly enjoyed it. She said it was tender and the meat seasoned well. My husband ordered the shepherds pie and said it was even better than his own. It is made with beef (not lamb) and delicious! We couldn't leave without having the banoffee and bread pudding. They brewed fresh coffee for us and we sat and chatted and life and the awesome food we had.

THE FULL RUN DOWN!!! lol, I saw so many varying reviews I needed to get the official answer myself…read more My girlfriend and I came in, right off the bat, the drinks aren't very good, mojito was a NOjito, as in no flavor and all sour lol but the beer was good. We got potato skins and wings and the wings were perfect, fall off the bone as well cooked. The potato skins........perfect cheese, perfect bacon, but can we get a little flavor onto that potato? Next time. I got the pulled pork Sandwhich, it was perfect all around and delicious. The fries were PERFECT!! Crispy and fresh. My girlfriend got the stir fry, the vegetables were perfectly seasoned but the chicken could use some flavor in itself. I was told it's a bit bland like the potato. Overall, 4 stars, our server was attentive, friendly and patient with us. The food was great, no major complaints at all. I took the star off just because the cocktail wasn't very good, the base of the food we ate could use some more seasoning and flavor in the (potato and chicken). Also side suggestion would be to make a few playlists, I felt like the music was all over the place and definitely can set the mood when hanging out. Definitely would love to return, worth the stop 100%

3.4 stars on Yelp: about right for the Poconos (or Poconos-adjacent; not sure what Port Jervis is…read moreconsidered). One of us had been here before with the Pop-Pop, but this time we went as a family for dinner. The main area inside is cute and homey, and the bar is especially nice, but we were seated in the adjacent section which felt like an IHOP. Our server was very nice and patient, and we did appreciate that there were decent beers on draft as well as some cocktails. We started with the appetizer sampler, and it was...fried food galore. The chicken wings were beyond rubbery, but the onion rings were OK, as were the mozzarella sticks. The whole thing was a plate of grease. For mains, one of us got the teriyaki chicken wrap, and she was pleasantly surprised. It was pretty delish! Nice flavor, good balance of ingredients and texture, and somewhat fresh tasting. The chicken parm sandwich, though, was a hot mess, and not in a good way. The bread became pure mush, the chicken tasted off, and the sauce was unappetizing. A real bummer of a meal. Our daughter had a shrimp basket that we didn't even want to ask about. We all split a lava cake for dessert that lacked any soul. Overall, the Erie Hotel is on par with literally everything else in a 30-mile radius that we have experienced in this corner of America: average food that's not particularly first-rate. Three accurate stars.

If you haven't been, I'm sorry. If have, rejoice and know the chef, Skip, who happens to be my brother-in-law will enjoy his retirement after a chaotic, non-stop last month. I stopped in for lunch today with my good friend and struggled with what my last meal should be. I opted for the Chicken pot pie and corn fritter. It was light, flaky and delicious. The corn fritter came with maple syrup and brought me great joy. My friend went with the pork Milanese which was huge! It came with mashed potatoes and veggies. She definitely will be having a second meal from that pork cutlet. She also ordered a Reuben to take home for her hubby. Sorry, no photos of the sandwich. The service is always top notch and the drinks free flowing. Stop in if you can. But know the wait will be lengthy but worth it.

Nice bar, and good selection for wines and beer. Parking is street parking mostly and they have couple of parking spots to the side of the restaurant. Genuine hospitality that welcomes you like they've known you forever. You are going to ask why you haven't been here many times before after you visit. Everything is of quality and fresh. The menu is concentrated offering a nice balance of traditional items and Irish dishes. The Potato and Leek Soup is made very well with such a clean smooth broth and plenty of potato and leek present in the soup. Try the Cajun Chicken and Sausage gumbo was a nice option offering Big pieces of Chicken and Andouille Sausage. Nice kick but not overwhelming. Clams or Mussels appetizers are on point and worth sharing with the table. The Corned Beef and Cabbage dish was amazing and definitely NOT bland! Lean Corned Beef and fresh hand cut veggies make this a must have! The NY Strip, is tender, cooked perfectly and recommend having the whiskey sauce over the top! For $38.95 it is a bargain! Highly recommended as it literally checks every box for me. Will definitely return!
