I got takeout from this place for my friend and I, and I was surprised by the quality and taste of our mix and match plates (shawarma meat and chicken). It tasted really good, and they give you a decent amount. I really wish they gave a little more sauce though, considering there were two full plates that we ordered. I do love all of the 4 sauces they provide, just wish they gave a bit more in quantity. All in all, this is an awesome place to have nearby. I'll be back! read more

Decided to try this place while doing laundry next door. I frequent a lot of Middle Eastern restaurants and this was my first and last time eating here. I don't know if this place was having a bad day but the quality was not where it needed to be for my experience. The lady was very nice who took my order. I ordered the Shawarma entree. I noticed the guy took the meat off the line and not off the spit and cooked it on the flat top which if you know that will dry out the meat. Along with the dry meat the rice was also dry. I don't know if they were trying to get rid of product but the salad was the only thing I liked. read more

I visited today and ordered the chicken shawarma sandwich. Flavors, texture, taste, smell perfect. I ordered it to go so I could have a picnic lunch outside because the day was beautiful. Two ladies were working and they probably could use more help because other orders were coming in as I was waiting. Yes, I had to wait and the lady who was taking care of me honestly acknowledged that. She politely suggested that I call next time in advance. I told her not to worry. I recognize that they could use more help. They worked efficiently and were pleasant. I was told that they have been opened over a year. Work is nearby and I will be visiting again. The price is fair and the food so much better that Jimmy John's, Subway, and some of those other nasty places that call themselves restaurants near Broadway and Wilson. It's a no frills storefront place. They keep it ckean. Thete are places to sit but it is not meant to be a table service place. Give it a try, you will be happy you did. read more

Omg. So good. The laundry mat I usually go to was totally full, but thankkk God it took me to this cute strip mall to discover Mr. Shawarma! I went in to grab food while my clothes were drying but realized I probably had to come back. Staff there is so so so friendly and let me know they can just come into the laundry mat next door and try to find me and give it to me once it's done. That should tell you a lot about an establishment. On top of how crazy polite and friendly everybody was, their food is awesome awesome awesome awesome. In the photo I posted, there are actually two kebabs but I was so hungry I literally swallowed one it was so so so good. Everything is so so fresh , all of the pricing is incredibly reasonable and the portions are huge, especially just one piece of pita bread! I don't really write reviews about a lot of places but thank God my regular laundry mat was full. Think this was......destiny? This was a nice unplanned moment of my day! Meh. Food is pretty bland for Mediterranean food. Meat was super dry to the point where it would break all the way through when you took a bite, and the rice was dried out. Saw who I assumed is the owner interact rudely to other customers. Her attitude was repulsive enough to keep me from coming back. Unfortunately I was lucky enough to have another run in with the same lady, which was also unpleasant. She also had no regard for residents or neighbors In the area. She decided she was privilege enough to park her car in the middle of the alley (mind you two cars can fit) and just took her sweet time empty her car into the restaurant took about 7 mins for me and the car behind me to wait. No courtesy thank you for waiting or an attempt to move her vehicle, not even a sorry for making other people wait. Thanks but no thanks. Today for lunch I decided to try Mr. Shawarma based on great reviews & pictures. I had the Shawarma Mix, Vegetarian plate and Lentil soup. Customer service was very nice. Prices are expensive for the quality and quantity. Disappointed the few little scrapes of meat(chicken and beef) was hard & dry and rice lacked flavor. It's a shame that Yelp's algorithms keep filtering out the reviews for this newly opened business. Eight reviews are now hidden. One of which I know is legit, as my neighbor wrote it. I ordered a side of falafel, lentil soup, and the chicken shawarma wrap the first week they opened. I heeded a reviewer's advice to call in and it was ready when I went to pick it up 15 minutes later. The lentil soup was very tasty (I've seen it made in a variety of ways at different shawarma shops, and this is definitely the style/spices/ingredients I like, including texture) as well as the falafel. The sandwich was grilled, which I really liked. The staff were extremely nice and courteous when I picked up my food. The place, including food prep areas, were clean and tidy. I'm very excited to have Middle Eastern food options down the block to add to the diversity of Uptown's food scene. Great addition to the stretch of Wilson/Magnolia! read more
