Went here for the first time based on reviews. Father/daughter running the place were nice. Aside from that, got the mixed grill and the various kebaobs/meat was very dry and not flavorful or they dried the flavor out, either way was borderline bad. The rice was very average and hummus so-so. I eat this type of food every week back home and this just wasnt good at all. We had no issue, given that we were there on a slow, Sunday evening. The service was pleasant. The food: I ordered the mixed shawarma plate, which includes both chicken and beef shawarma, rice, hummus, pita, and a salad. The shawarma was a bit dry. I would have been down for some garlic sauce. I am at a 3.5. My wife got the chicken shawarma plate. Same as above without the beef. She's at a 3. My son got the gyro "wrap" and fries. I put 'wrap' in quotes because it was more of a gyro pita (like a taco). He agreed with his mom, a 3. The portions were substantial and, to be fair, we all finished our food. You know, this was a pretty good late night spot to order from. We had just worked/thrown a big party and needed the chance to sit down and eat for ourselves. Through DoorDash, we had some gyros and fries delivered to the bar we were at. While nothing was mind-blowingly good, it was a nice, classic gyro and everything tasted great. Today, I had a chance to try this new Middle Eastern Pl ace in town. I cannot rave enough about the hospitality and the quality of the food. I ordered the beef Shawarma, the chicken Shawarma, tabouli, hummus, and also picked up some banana pudding. The owner was kind enough to offer us the pistachio truffles. Everything we tasted was delicious. Fresh, and homemade. It took about 10 minutes to get the food and we couldn't wait to devour it. The hummus is by far my favorite as it is as authentic as it gets. The tabouli is a very close second and it was fresh with the perfect amount of dressing. The meat that was used in the beef Shawarma was so tender that it melted in my mouth. The same thing can be said about the chicken. Just the perfect amount of spices complimented this meal. The boat shop is located in an old brewery that has been turned into an apartment complex. We are visiting Milwaukee for a concert and we cannot even finish our meal without doing a review about how DELICIOUS AND FRESH this food is!!!! We ordered a plate and substituted the meat for gyro meat, so it came with hummus yellow rice and a fresh salad!! I cannot emphasize enough how fresh this food is!! The gyro meat is juicy (not hard or dried out as gyro meat can sometimes be at other places). The rice is so well seasoned and served with a generous portion. The hummus was fresh and smooth, tasted homemade! And the cucumber tomato salad was a refreshing balance to the plate! The driver also threw in a free banana pudding dessert for us and me and my partner don't even like banana pudding but this dessert was AMAZING!!! So delicious!!!
