Doner Kebab is very popular in Germany, where I had it last Fall, but it is not traditional German food, and was in fact, brought to Germany by Turkish immigrants that helped to rebuild Germany after WWII. I can say this place serves delicious doner kebab on fresh housemade bread on par with what I tasted in Germany. Doner Kebab can be ordered as Classic on their housemade bread, as a Wrap, as a Bowl, or as a Donerdilla (quesadilla with Doner using their wrap), and you can choose beef or chicken. They have a couple of side dishes, including fries and loaded fries, plus fountain drinks and bottled drinks. The dining room seats about 20 people. I visited twice, so far. First visit was for dine-in about 2 weeks ago, but there were large orders ahead of me, so my wait time reached a point where I asked them to switch my order to carry-out, and I ate it over 90 minutes later after my appointment. After 90 minutes, the doner kebab was still delicious even without reheating it. Ofcourse the fries became soggy as expected but seasoning was really good. I went back over this past weekend for dine-in. Wait time was only about 15 minutes, and this time the fries were perfectly crisp and still had the great seasoning blend, plus a tasty garlic sauce for dipping. They do not have ketchup for fries, and I like that. They have 3 sauces to choose from: garlic, herb, and spicy. The Classic Doner Kebeb was even better eaten fresh, but flavors were about the same as my carry-out sandwich eaten "cold," which speaks to the consistency. Be patient in your visit because it is a small team of 2 taking and prepping orders, and there may be call-in orders or large orders ahead of you. I will definitely go back to try everything else on the menu! read more

Went to diner kebab on capital to see if was as good as the OG in Hartford. It's still amazing. My 10 yo loved it too. She loved the original with a little less cabbage and lettuce and the fries with garlic sauce were solid. Clean and friendly. Will add this to our quick dinner rotation. Btw. Ate here recently with my husband who is from Germany and enjoyed these all the time during his childhood. A hearty kebab filled with a healthy portion of delicious meat. All the sauces are super tasty, especially the garlic herb. My husband loved it and said it was very similar to what he would get in Germany as a little boy! Highly recommend! read more

I was wanting to get out to their original location to give them a try since I have seen so many good things about the food, but it was just so far from the city. Luckily they just opened up close to the city or so I thought... Be prepared to smell like grilled meats cause they don't have the exhaust on and you can see the smoke under the lighting. *The Beef Classic Doner was extremely salty. The first bite was full of flavor, but it just got saltier and saltier with each bite. I got an extra sauce for $0.75 and the sauce container was only half full. On top of the sandwich being $16.75 it totaled to $19.00 after tax. The bread wasn't anything special and didn't make the sandwich better than having a nice grilled pita. Having lavash bread instead of a tortilla would've also make it more appealing. Sadly it will probably be my last visit. The prices are way too high and I would have been more satisfied with a large box of fried chicken from Popeyes, 2-3 gyro sandwiches from Oakland Gyros, or a whole Philly cheesesteak from Cousins, 1 lb ribeye steak, etc. Overall, the flavor didn't match the price. The portion was ok, but also not worth $19.00 for one sandwich. I was hoping this would be a niche place and they fell flat. I'm also drinking an excessive amount of water afterwards because of how much sodium is in the meat. P.S. The business owner's picture included sauce that I had to pay extra for. Finally! We've been searching for an authentic doner kebab for years. This sandwich is like a Greek gyro or Arab shawarma sandwich or Mexican al pastor taco: spiced meat roasted on a vertical spit and served in flatbread with veggies and delicious sauces. Despite Milwaukee's German heritage, Germany's #1 street food has simply been missing... until now! The shaved beef is unique and delicious (they also have chicken some days), the cabbage, tomato, and onions fresh, and the herb, garlic, and spicy sauces (get the trio!) so flavorful. What makes it, though, is the bread. Made in-house, it's crusty and grilled in a panini press... so different than a pita, yufka, or tortilla. The clean and modern restaurant is comfortable, and the couple that opened it so friendly and proud... and they should be! You must try it. You'll be hooked! read more

The last time I had a döner this good was in college--twenty years ago! One bite here, and it all came rushing back: the perfectly seasoned meat, the warm and perfectly baked flatbread, and the blend of fresh veggies and tangy sauce that ties everything together. The quality and authenticity at Doner Kebab Milwaukee are outstanding. You can tell everything is made with care and pride. The flavors are bright and balanced, the portions generous, the restaurant inviting and clean, and the staff welcoming and genuinely kind. It's rare to find food that feels both nostalgic and new at the same time, but that's exactly what this place delivers. Was the first person in the door and they didn't have half of their menu. They told me 10 minutes and it took 30. I was about to ask for my money back and then it was ready. I took it home and the order was completely wrong. One wrap was missing half of the stuff. They had the gall to have the tipping options when you walk in set at 18, 20, 25 on their point of sale system for a take out place. Two wraps and one order of fries with a 18% tip was 45 bucks. Incredible FOOD! Quick and delicious for late night cravings and working lunch alike. The pita is always the perfect mix of slightly crunchy and soft, the meat is always well spiced and cooked to perfection, and the veggie fillings are always crisp and fresh !!!
