I went in for a smog check today. I expected it to be pretty quick and easy, but even with those high expectations, I was still wowed by how fast it was. I was in and out of there faster than most in n out burger drive thrus! Very easy and efficient to get your smog check done here. I waited probably 10 minutes for the whole process and after it was done they submitted the paperwork directly to the dmv and gave me a document to send along with my payment so that I can get new tags. I went to Mr. Smog on Archibald. He pull my car into the shop and had the car running, then he left and went to the body shop business next-door. I didn't notice if he was doing anything to the car or not. I didn't hear the engine revving to perform the test. Then he came back to inform me that I didn't pass the smog test. Additionally he stated, "I can't help it if you don't take care of your car." I wanted to pay with American Express he told me, "I don't take that card." I wasn't feeling comfortable with his service and I thought to myself that I'm not giving him any other card. I told him, "This is all I have." He said, "Come back with cash." I said,"Ok.", but then he would not give me my registration back. I told him, "I'm not driving without my registration. So then he said, "l will take American Express but I have to charge you eight dollars." I paid the eight dollars and asked him why he told me I don't take care of my car and why he lied about taking American Express. I told him this is what's wrong with people today all you needed to do was tell me the truth. Looking at my receipt my car was in and out of the shop in only three minutes. I found this place off of Apple Maps and I saw the reviews and stars so I decided to see what was up. I called the day prior to going and talked with Francisco and he told me to just bring it in. The day after I called him again to make sure the timing was OK and he said he had only one car so to come right in and he will take care of it. Upon getting there he greeted me and I gave him my DMV paper and within five minutes he had my car hooked up. He also checked my cars code to make sure that it was clear and would pass prior to testing. He told me it was going to be $50 which it was an after about 15 to 20 minutes my car passed and was clear he gave me all the documents and sent me on my way. Fast service!!! This place should be your go to for smog checks. Seriously I doubt any other shops in the area can compete with their friendly, quick service. Called them ahead of time for quotes on smogs and they advised there was no wait if I brought my car in at that time. $50 for smog check and certificate, which is standard. They don't have any special pricing or anything but the fact that I was in and out of there within maybe 15 minutes was great! Francisco was the one to help me out and run the tests on my car. He was inviting and quick to get the job done. If I need a smog in the future I will definitely keep this place in mind as long as I'm still living near the area. Great work guys! Saw that Mr. Smog Check got a lot of great reviews so I checked out their website. They have a coupon "Get Test Only Smog Check for Only $40.00" so I print that out and call to make an appointment. They answer their phone in Spanish. I want to make a 4:15PM appointment. They just asked for Year, Make and Model of the car. "Do you need my name and phone number?" "Nope" Okay, so I tell my husband to stop by after work for the smog check. I check the next day on the DMV website and they already have the results so I can pay the fee and get my new sticker. Pretty simple. Will come here again for future smog needs.. 10/100 Reviews for 2014 UPDATE: We needed a smog check for our other car. My husband calls and asks what time they open and makes an appointment over the phone for the following morning at 9am. The next morning he arrives and no one is there. He waits for 20 minutes, calls the business phone number and leaves a message. After another 10 minutes, he leaves and gets a smock check somewhere else.
